If he was just walking, why hit him? If it was because he had his hands in his pockets, then why not try to detain him rather than pushing him to the ground? Do police have the right to exert this much force in the name of public security? If their exuding this force was in the interest of public safety, why not assist the man when he was on the ground, presumably, explaining who he was? Who is truly responsible for his death, the police or the protesters?

I know this is a topic that has probably been trodden over a thousand times, but I would like to know people's opinions on this article. That being said, I only ask that we all approach this as reasonable people. Debate is fine, but if this thread grows into hostility and name calling, I'll delete it, flat out.

tl;dr, discuss:

I am hungry, and will be making either Tuna Helper or Hamburger Helper, however I cannot decide which. Also, both is not an option.

Also, dongs.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Language is stupid.
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:45:30 AM »
The fact that we as humans are not always able to fully express thoughts means that language is limited. The fact that it is limited makes it unintelligent. If language is unintelligent, then it is as the title implies, stupid. Discuss.
