In the future, there are no elections. 2016 was the final recorded one I could find. If there were others, they were lost to history.
First the two-term rule was abolished. Then more power was granted to corporations, such as CERN and Microsoft. Then there was war, and elections were delayed so that everyone could focus on the war effort, the next general election to be held a year after the conclusion of the war.
The war did not end.

Protests are the only voice that the People have. In the time I come from, people die for their sake. To shout from the rooftops that this is wrong, to make sure no one forgets what it is that you think.
Authority should not be accepted for authority's sake. Those in power are those that sought power. It is not a trait to be admired.
There are people afraid that they will be forgotten. There are people afraid that they will be ignored, and that they will be acceptable losses. For those people, all that they can do is to be loud enough to be heard. If you have never been in a situation where you did not need to shout from the rooftops, then you are lucky.
Tyrants win by silencing dissent. Wise rulers listen to dissent. The voice of the People is the only true, good power.
Respect is earned, it is not a gift. If power will not listen to voices, then it will listen to violence. It is the case where I come from and, I imagine, universally.
The difference between a terrorist and a freedom fighter is publicity.

I do not come from 2077, and historical research is not the same as you are used to. Much of the world lives soulless lives, surviving without experiencing. In the time I do come from, gold is worthless. Currency of any kind is archaic, we subsist on favors and what we produce ourselves. The only things worth money cost more than anyone could reasonably make, save for the overlords in CERN.

All societal problems last for generations. Let's say fifty years ago people held onto social views that are hated now. That generation are the ones that shaped your parents, and may have directly shaped you. You may have shrugged some of it off, as your parents may have done, but are you sure every speck is lost?
To move on from the past is a constant effort. The views held by people a hundred years ago can be traced through shockingly few generations, to still affect the instinctive views of people today, and everything built and put into place by those people a hundred years ago was made with their views in mind.
Take it from me. The future follows the past. It is no unseen country, it's just a little more of the one you know.
Never react based on instinct.

The ability to create black holes has been kept a secret, so they can develop technology to manipulate them. The conspiracy is founded on power, like all conspiracies.
Time travel being possible in the future doesn't mean it's possible now. It was Globalsoft who prevented time travel: the people in power don't need to control the past, they need to stop others doing the same.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / Re: Antibiotic Resistent Bacteria
« on: January 01, 2016, 07:43:21 AM »The primary cause is people not completing antibiotic treatments: a lot stop when they lose their symptoms, rather than when the doctor says. That way more bacteria survives, and can develop. If people would continue, there'll be less resistant bacteria.
However, radiation treatments will prove quite successful by 2022, or so. They eradicate all foreign organisms, and the body survives. After that, all it takes is the replacement of more beneficial bacteria that got killed too.
I agree, but dont you think heavy overuse of antibiotics in animal feed to prevent infectious diseases in food production contributes just as much or perhaps more?
That's interesting about radiation treatments, but I don't know alot about it. My thoughts were that this problem may be the kick we need to revolutionize genetic engineering.
Overuse of antiobiotics is better than the alternative. The diseases that affect animals only rarely mutate to hurt humans, and even they won't last long enough as animals won't go without food, so if done properly there won't be anything left. if you're talking about some antibiotics making it through to human consumption, then that's functionally vaccinating bacteria, giving them too little a dose to do much harm, so that's a problem as well.
Genetic engineering is like using an apocalypse as a mousetrap. You kill the mouse, but look how much work goes into it. The human genome is the single most complex entity on the face of the planet. Trying to engineer and manipulate even the smallest part of just one person's genetic code has to be done on a case by case basis, and the level of programming required (because no human could keep all that in their head) is terrifying. I doubt it will ever be doable.

2009: CERN successfully use the LHC to create and manipulate microscopic black holes.
2017: The first working time machine is invented, though the process cannot be survived.
2020: The merger of Microsoft and CERN forms Globalsoft, and the increase in resources allows them to complete study of time travel, and send living beings into the past.
2023: The Aldaine Model is accepted as the standard for psychology, describing both why and how external stimuli may be used to create memories and impressions, and subsequently brainwash an individual. Artificially created, digital stars are used to create music under the Aldaine model, to provide new memories and inclinations for all that hear it.
2024: The first cyber-artist tops the charts. Record numbers of people listen to digitally created music, with no human element, and have their minds rewritten as they do so.
2033: Simon Cowell elected President of the United States for his second term, as an agent of Globalsoft.
2034: A license is required for humans to own musical instruments, or create any music beyond the digital brainwashing of Globalsoft/CERN.
2039: Last, non-computerised track played. Some rhapsody or other.
2042: Global unification occurs, under the eye of Globalsoft.
2046: All musical instruments banned.
2054: A man called Okabe dies, but the resistance he founded survives. They live on the outskirts, between vast cities, underground, in the ruins of what came before. The names assigned by Globalsoft are rejected, in favor of snippets from old relics: a form of rebellion.
2062: The Seven Seas are created from the flooded Lake Geneva: a dumping ground for Globalsoft, where any captured rebels are set free, after having their minds burnt away. It's a bar, for the people who can barely talk or think any more. It saves on the expense of a grave or prison: they look after themselves, and frighten anyone who dares speak out against Globalsoft.
2074: Time travel is rendered obselete, as Globalsoft have no need of it. All machines are destroyed, except for one which is sealed and keyed to the genetic fingerprint of the monarch of Globalsoft.
2080: Planet Earth renamed.
2094: The digitally created Queen of Globalsoft is found, the living embodiment of their ideals, an artificial consciousness forced into wiped minds and empty bodies, to lead the company. She's a killer, and immortal.
2167: Rumor of the sealed time machine reach the Bohemians (the resistance, taking their name from the old term for one who rejects conventional pursuits). Plans are made.
In the year 3245 I was part of the team that found the time machine, and used what remained of the Queen to access it. Globalsoft has been defeated, but I don't want the world to suffer under its reign. This is as far back as the machine was able to go, and I hope it will be enough. I have been here several months already, before I decided to see if there was signs of any more time travel, like myself.
It seems there was another, from another timeline, who used the code name John Titor. From what I can gather, she was a Japanese woman. I am not her. I've had several names, from my birth URL to my resistance title, I can only speculate the coincidence required for both of us to try to change the past under the name codename, but she might be the origin of mine. As I said, Bohemians take titles from figures in the past. This might be where Brit's idea came from. I can only assume she succeeded, most of what she says is nto familiar to me.
Anyway, it wasn't hard to gain access to the account. There are benefits to future technology: everything digital has been cracked. I took what I could from the Globalsoft mainframe, before coming back here. As this past time traveller seems to have an audience, I hope you'll pay as much attention to what I say as you did her.
I urge all of you to read and remember what I say here. Change the future.

Hello all,
I have enjoyed my time here. However, I have located the flaw in my time machine: the motor that powered a magnet was damaged. I have purchased a replacement, appended it, and I can find no other difficulties. If all is successful, I should be bound for the future: and if I was successful in altering the worldline, I will fade in the transition, rejoining the me of that time.
I will have no memory: this will never have happened.
I hope only that you never have any proof that I am genuine, or that CERN is the threat they are in my time. I truly do. I hope also that there is no cause for this account to be used again. Another worldline's me may have the same thought, but I hope they have no cause to.
Goodbye all. I wish you well for your future.
John Titor.

« on: August 31, 2015, 05:03:53 PM »Therefore human consciousness is not different to or separated from nature but part of it. Makes sense! But this discussion is probably heading towards philosophy and free will etc. Wether human consciousness and actions can create or bring into existence new timelines or worldlines and if these are "natural" events?
We certainly can bring into existence new wordlines, it's happened many times. Well, we don't create 'new' worldlines, but we do switch the one we are on, to another. All this needs, though, is to alter the past.
As for whether it's natural, I can't say. That would require 'natural' to be defined. As far as 'progressing from nature' goes, yes, it is.
As an interesting note, to make major shifts in worldline, as in enough to change attractor fields, you need to access a hot spot. Theoretically though, these is one crucial way to end up in a worldline between attractor fields, not bound to events in one or the other. This would be to create a consistent history, even if you change the past. The only attempt to access the 'Gate' worldline, as we call it, involved a murder. A man found a woman, dead, in a pool of her own blood: and resulting from that was the first recorded 'D-mail'. Eventually, when that was over (a very long story), a version of me from another worldline gave him a chance to change the past, and also remove from existence the time travel thesis she worked for, which had ruined the future (this was the past Titor, I believe). To do so, he forced her attacker away, and knocked her unconscious into a pool of his own blood. When his past self saw the scene, he reacted the exact same way: leading to the events which would change the worldline.
That kind of consistency is rare, complicated, but powerful.

Willful ignorance is not an argument. You make no effort to acknowledge or respond to the mountains of evidence that science has (and which has been corroborated multiple times, all over the world, even by private systems), or to admit that none of the facts that mikeman relies upon are beyond your ability to observe. For example, sunsets. You do not need a budget to look outside.

Photons always travel in a straight line: it's just the medium they travel in that gets curved. For example, if you take a ribbon, stretch it out straight, and draw a straight line from one end to another, that line is straight: however, you can curl up the ribbon, making the straight line seem curved.
(An aside: photons move in a straight line due to interference. As quantum objects, they also appear as a wave: and if you have a wavelength V, and a wavelength W, where W appears the same as V only shifted half a wavelength so that the shape that goes above the line in V is underneath it in W, when V and W meet, they cancel each other out.
Photons take every possible path from A to B, but when one goes one way, one can go the other way in the exact same way and deviating only half a wavelength: one would be V, and one would be W. A similar path can be found for every single wavelength that goes for any more than the minimum possible distance from A to B: that minimum can only be achieved one way, so it can't be cancelled out, and that one way is clearly a straight line).
This is very complex, sorry. I don't know if this has been formalized in this time, it's a consequence of the relationship between the medium light moves in, and the strings of the spatial dimension.

« on: August 31, 2015, 04:07:05 PM »There are two time lines, one of which leads to tyranny, which you seem to promote -- and since you do not know of the other, seems like, according to the training I have received, and I do not mean to offend, an generic "fear porn/savior complex" mentality that always occurs at times of great changes ... according to materials I have read often [a cultural miasm itself].
I have not offered justifications for anything -- you seem to be unaware of the other timeline which, makes it hard for me to believe you.
There is only worldline, but there are infinitely many ways it could go. We are/were in what is called an attractor field: similar worldlines (timelines, as you call them) group together: those with similar events will stay nearby. This makes changing the worldline difficult: you would need to cause a great shift, using what are called 'hot spots', altering events constant to all worldlines in the attractor field.
I was sent back to undo this. I hope to have succeeded, so it is possible that a more optimistic future awaits. However, I will not know until I can repair my time machine.
This is not 'fear porn,' it stems from my observations of the future, from living there. As for 'savior complex,' I was sent back in my time machine for the express purpose of shifting the wordline. I suppose you could interpret that as a savior complex, but it is only so inasmuch as it is my job. I did not work alone.
I am not sure how I could have knowledge of two futures. I only come from one, and if I successfully changed the past, I would vanish in the journey to the future. However, if there was still a problem, another me would journey to the past: but they would have no memory of the wordline I hail from.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / Re: Conservation of Energy and Time
« on: August 31, 2015, 04:01:46 PM »Time travel could be a biological event.
Imagine a universe where no life ever came into being.
Mind Experiment:-
Imagine a planet similar to earth, but with no life. Everything on that planet would totally obey the laws of physics. Every rain drop would fall exactly where it should and every grain of sand would be in its exact correct position. Now put a mouse on a beach on that planet the mouse would move and disturb the grains of sand and raindrops would fall on the back of the mouse and not fall where they originally would have. It is almost as if life interferes with the natural order of the universe.
Would different timelines or multiverses etc. still occur in a dead universe with no life of any kind.
The interference there comes from the addition of a mouse which should not be there.
There is a tendency to think of life as somehow above the natural order. This is not true: life is the product of nature, and just as much part of it as any rain or grain of sand. The fact we are harder to predict doesn't make that false.
Multiple worldlines would exist no matter what: they are simple possibilities. The question would be whether they could be accessed: whether the worldline could be changed without an agent to do it.
And that is an interetsing question. The one I know who can recall other worldlines automatically can, as a result, sense when the worldline changes. This mainly occurred when he sent a 'D-mail,' an email via a primitive time machine that was received before it was sent. If this changed the past, then his sense would activate, and the worldline would change. However, surely the fact he was going to send the message would be sufficient for him to sense the change?
It gets further complicated when, on one occasion, the worldline shifted after a linear event: deleting a record from CERN's database of the existence of D-mail.
The implication seems to be that subjective experience is required for the worldline to shift: which is to be expected, as the shift of a worldline means the writing-over of memories and properties. Performing an action that would change the default future (with time travel, the outlier, remaining in the exact state it would in the advancement of that worldline) must be done and, at that moment, the worldline would change. While events occurring linearly, with no time machine, can change worldlines, this can only happen if it results from a change that has already been made in time.
So, what really matters, is whether natural time travel exists: whether there could be a natural, if unlikely, way for the worldline to change. I have heard no reports from HK on unexplained incidents, so it would seem unlikely, but this would not mean impossible.
In a universe with a different design, or different laws, however, even if life did not exist, this wouldn't prevent the shifting of worldlines. Life is nothing special. certainly, our consciousness makes regaining the written-over properties somewhat easier, but theoretically all matter can do that, even if we can't notice it doing so.
Life only interferes with the natural order, if you define the natural order to be 'that without life'. However, that seems an odd thing to do, as life results from nature: life would by definition be part of the natural order.

After all, it is the same word. There's no chance that it could be used to represent any other term: the word fork is not censored.
It's one of your peculiarities. Are the letters 'u' and 'c' especially controversial? I can't understand this.

I do not believe either of those occurs, though I am unclear what you are saying. The only major event, with long-term repurcussions, around this time is what happens at CERN. They're gathering power, creating small black holes... They may not have succeeded yet. Most major events happen behind closed doors, it is hard to say the precise date.
The second statement is certainly false, however. It will not be long before meaning is stolen from life. CERN take over, rule the world through fear, and people live with empty eyes, and survive devoid of hope. The 'disempowering cultural miasms' only increase: that's why I came back here, to stop them.
I have little faith in views said with the kinds of justifications you've given, but this is your answer nonetheless. There is little good coming, if I am not successful. For the immediate future however, I do not know. Research is hard in my time.

Can I prove it? Yes and no, it would depend on your definition of proof. I have knowledge from ahead of this time (though only in the fields I studied), and I know several events, but you could always conclude that those predictions are luck. Can I provide a quick proof? No. To do so would be impossible.
I don't mind if you don't believe me. The only reason I'm here is to change the future. (Which I hope to have done, I just need to repair my time machine, and reach the future). I have a trhead in 'science an alternative science' entitled 'ask a time traveller anything' if you want to ask me any specific questions, if you want to determine whether I am genuine or not. Regardless of my origins however, my statements remain factual.

Flat Earth General / Re: It's 2015 and we aren't even close to knowing the true shape of the Earth
« on: August 31, 2015, 02:33:00 PM »Of all the supposedly real pictures of Earth on the internet, none show it anything but round. However, most say it is flat on the top and bottom and bulged in the center around the equator. Neil deGrasse Tyson says it is pear shaped. Fatter below the equator than above the equator.Still directly answered in the post you quoted, and which I specified for you. If you would take the time to take in what is being said, you might realize you're just wasting time.

Maybe John with your infinite wisdom and I believe I read where you were from another planet, can actually tell us all the real shape of the planet Earth and maybe show us a picture or two or don't they have cameras where you come from?I'm from Earth, just a different time. You can find pictures far more eaisly than I, I still struggle with search engines.

All three are more or less correct: Earth is round but it has pear shaped imperfections and it's rotation makes it slightly oblate, but the effects are so small that there is often no point in considering them.
I'm not going to add anything new. It is just rather striking how many of Yendor's questions are answered in the very post he is quoting.
Asking for answers means nothing if you refuse to listen.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Apparently Light=Sound now
« on: August 31, 2015, 12:18:30 PM »Do you honestly not realise that 'John Titor' claims to be a time-traveller from the future?
I am from the future, but that's not relevant here, so I didn't bring it up. A little of what I said won't be proven for a few years, but you're more than welcome to enjoy that.
I could be a sentient sack of peas, it wouldn't alter whether or not what I said was true: and it remains true that it is pointless for you to ask to be educated on anything if you will refuse to learn.

Flat Earth General / Re: It's 2015 and you aren't even close to owning a flat earth map
« on: August 31, 2015, 11:49:47 AM »I'm all for it. From my experience you will probonaly have the cooperation of nearly every round earther but the flat earthers tend to stay away from experiments as if they were radioactive. That way they could call everyone liars when the experiment inevitably proves round Earth and protect their fantasy. I have seen this happen on at least 5 different iccasions, mostly with experiments I organize.
Their complaints seem self-causing then. If experiments are offered, and they refuse to take part in any, then they'll need to use the word of those who do not accept a Flat Earth, in which case their complaints that all information comes from 'closed minded shills' is entirely their fault.
Perhaps it would be better to not think of this as an experiment, then: merely a way to find an approximate map of the world while relying on no resources except your own two eyes, and the eyes of others.
I would be part of it, but the sky is very cloudy where I have ended up, and I don't know if I'll be here long enough. I will be happy to provide guidelines and planning though.

I am aware. I was explaining for the benefit of everyone else, as much as anyone.
teaching requires a listener as well as a teacher. You could have all the knowledge in the world, but if they will not listen, it does not matter.
