Why am I wasting my time here?  Agh.

Flat Earth Debate / Experiment #8

Here's a link:

This experiment proposes that if the Earth were round, then the horizon when looking out onto the ocean would be curved?  I was taking your references of this book as some kind of evidence for a flat Earth, but honestly?

That makes sense.  Replace the word 'sun' with 'moon' in my question.

And one other thing.  Why is it that you see a different set of stars in the sky when you travel south?

FE'ers believe the sun never goes down 'below' the Earth; it just gets further away causing this effect.  I can understand that if something gets far enough away, it might be obscured by hills or something, and get really small, and perhaps appear as if it has gone 'below' the Earth.  But this raises a question: If the sun does just get further away (far enough away to make the half the earth seem completely dark), why does it always appear the same size in the sky?

I did a search and didn't see any specifics..

Is this part of the conspiracy?  I've seen it before..

Can someone explain/draw a diagram of how eclipses work according to FE theory?

And also, can someone elaborate of the overall shape of the universe in relation to the blanket of dark energy below us?  Does all of the universe rest on it, or does it just push on us?  How do other galaxies work in relation to it? And what keeps everything not on the dark matter moving?  And lastly, what keeps the dark energy accelerating?

Then I have another question for any/all FE'ers:  What was the reason for believing the theory in the first place?    Why does it seem any more logical than the one that everyone else believes?

Image from a commercial jet (at approx. 33,000 ft.):

And another thing: what do you have to say about earthquakes, and all their glory?  We have mapped the inside of the earth by measuring how earthquakes travel from one side to the other at different speeds through magma and rock.
