Flat Earth Q&A / What converted you to FEism?
« on: August 15, 2006, 04:20:04 PM »
Yes, sadly enough. It ruins my entire day to find out that people perceive things differently than I do.

Finally, we get the truth behind this "gravity" nonsense.

The Sun in that diagram should be at least a million times larger.

Sure, you and the dozen other users who have made this exact same thread can all go together.

The truth baited me in.

Your eye doesn't have the ability to view infinite distances.

The Lounge / Why is it so hard to do?

I guess it was so spam posts could be deleted, or so no one else could spam the thread.

I volunteer to be a moderator. I'll ban every spammer. Vote me in, 2006.

There's three users spamming. Don't lock the threads. Ban the users. Enforce your authority. Institute some type of plan where a moderator must authorize the activation of an account. This is getting ridiculous.

Flat Earth Q&A / Private Message From A Flat Earther
« on: August 07, 2006, 11:23:03 AM »
How dare you post my private message?

14
Well, I'm assuming that he means at the point which the Earths curvature prohibits you from seeing any further on land/water/et cetera, there will be a visible curve in the atmosphere above that spot.

15
Actually, it would disprove the flat Earth theory. Only problem is, I'm not sure how you can look upwards to the sky and see that the atmosphere is spherical.

If there is a hole in your logic, wouldn't it be natural to have another reasoning behind it?

Flat Earth Q&A / Why is it cold at the ice wall?

An idiot not realizing that was sarcasm, and then commenting on it. Sounds logical.

That temperature is extremely accurate.

In the flat Earth theory, that's just how it works.

Flat Earth Q&A / Ok, let’s talk theory
« on: August 05, 2006, 11:08:25 AM »
Going either East or West on a flat Earth consists of you going in a circle over the flat plane. It's not the same thing as moving in a straight line over the flat Earth.

I asked the same question about the Earth being the center of the Universe. The way I see it, if all other planets are flat, then their circular surface is constantly facing us - We never see their thin "sides." Dogplatter's reasoning was plausable, if I remember correctly.

Black holes are theoretical.

I should be a moderator. Mainly because I'm incredible.

« on: August 05, 2006, 10:46:11 AM »
Light doesn't hit the outer rim of a flat Earth. Being beside space, the temperature is low enough to cause the outer edge of the oceans to freeze, creating the ice wall.

Quote from: "Feralkitten"
just becuase Mars (and similar planets) are round doesn't mean the Earth is.

If that were true then cats would have had a litter of kittens that were identical. not the case. just becuase they were created the same time @ the same place and by the same person/mother/creater/action doesn't mean they all have to be alike.

That's a bad analogy. Saying that a cat would have a litter of kittens that were all the shape of kittens would be more appropriate.

Yeah, I realize that. I'm just clearing up the original question.

Flat Earth Q&A / Too poor to own a boat?
« on: July 19, 2006, 05:41:29 PM »
Think of the question as merely chance. If you, by chance, traveled in a straight line over a flat Earth, where would you end up? This doesn't necessarily mean going east or west, because naturally you'll have to turn to follow that direction completely. This is taking one starting point, and hypothetically moving in a straight line, not being manipulated by anything.

Flat Earth Q&A / Too poor to own a boat?
« on: July 19, 2006, 05:35:44 PM »
Whenever a topic like this is brought up, the common response is that circumnavigation is possible because, technically, you could travel east or west over a flat planet and return to the starting point. I know, as well as everyone else who responds, what the original poster means is traveling in a straight line according to a map. Take the flat Earth map, and travel from the United States in any random direction, following that starting point in a line, and not changing your route once.
