Tube amps are lovely, but way too big and loud to start out on. Plus, with a little one for bedroom playing, it's hard to get a good metal tone.  Believe me, I've tried.  I ended up selling my tube for a SS.
That said, if you want a big, gig worth amp, Grogberries is right.  Go tube.
Not really, I use my Classic 50 through a volume box and it works just fine as a bedroom amp.

If you want something really versatile and you're on a budget I would check out a Roland Cube.  I really liked the one I used to have.  It has multiple amp models and effect built in.  If you really want a quality tone, get a good tube amp.  Maybe a Peavey Classic 30 or a Valveking.  I myself have a Classic 50.  They're not exactly cheap, but you can probably find a used one for a decent price.

I used to own a guitar very similar to that one.  It was a B.C. Rich Warlock, I believe.  It was a good guitar for metal, though I'd take my Strat over it any day.  If you do get it and you've got some spare cash, I'd put some Seymour Duncan Blackouts in it.  That would work great for metal.  I'd also look at some Les Pauls and SGs.  Great guitars for rock.

Started watching NGE recently. Bit disappointed, to be honest.

You have to watch it a few times to get the full scope, however, I find the rebuild movies to be better. I'm anxiously awaiting the second movie to get fansubbed.

I am, however, going to buy the collectors tin of the original series, which includes the director's cut.
I'm about halfway through and it's got a sort of "monster of the week" vibe so far. Still introducing characters and shit. I'm pretty pissed off at the fanservice and the fact that Shinji has a fucking penguin for a roommate, but I'm willing to give it more time.
Don't forget to watch the movie after you finish the show.  The series provides a rather sub-par ending but I really enjoyed the film.  Like Hara said, you need to watch the whole thing a couple times to really get everything.  There are many things that are implied but never directly stated, so you really have to pay attention.  All in all, it's one of my favorite series.  I'm really curious to see how the live action version turns out.  Probably won't live up to the series but I can always hope.

This.  I find Norse mythology more interesting than Greek for some reason.  Too bad he gets killed. :(
SPOILER ALERT!  :o
I was wondering when someone was going to point that out.  Just let me know if I can ruin anything else for you. ;D

I fail to understand the point in your reply.

The sentence about two people with down syndrome spawning me is attempting to be a horrid insult? I dont see why the heck you are trying to tell me about my parents while you have no idea who I am, what I look like, which gender I represent whatsoever. Nor do you have any idea about my parents or anyone releated to me.

And its not a miracle that a child borns, it can all be explained by biology.
This is the most fail I have seen in a while.  Congrats!

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Seasons
« on: May 31, 2009, 05:25:40 PM »
The Universal Accelerator pushes the Earth upwards. It only pushes the Sun, Moon and Antimoon up by proxy, since their spatial relation to the Earth is a result of photoelectric suspension.

So the UA pushes on the earth, which then pushes on the sun and the moon?

Wow this story gets more complicated by the minute!

But the FAQ says the UA acts on all celestial bodies... there's no mention of "proxy" in there. Maybe you should check the FAQ.

http://theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=11211.0

Dogplatter (and some other FE'ers) has his own model of the FE which differs from the model described in the FAQ.

well if the information from the FAQ and the information given from the FEers do not agree, then something must not be true.  So which one should we believe?  If we believe the FAQ then that means anything which that FEer says may also not be true, and therefor his POV is in jeopardy of all being false.  BUT if the FAQ is not fully true, then all the information the FEers resort to is not concrete and can not be used as a base.
So please, which is it?
Because scientists never have differing opinions , right? ::)  It's unreasonable to expect all FEers to agree upon all aspects of the theory.

No one ever claimed the FAQ is false.  It's just a basic outline of FE beliefs, nothing absolute.

Sadly, I don't think I've ever won a game of minesweeper.

Sadly indeed. Go to custom. Write size 999x999 and include 5 mines. If you can't win that, get admitted to an institution.
I did that and actually won! 8)

Suddenly, if you get beat up it's gay bashing and the offender go to jail for 5 years.

fixed...

What I'm saying is that homosexuals are getting special treatment because they are homosexual; if a straight guy gets beat up, the offender gets community service. Catch my drift? Homosexuals should be equal, but they shouldn't be getting special treatment.
You're contradicting yourself.  You just claimed that they should have equal rights, yet you'd deny them the right to marry?  :-\

23
So you're saying pedophilia is just fine too? And as I clearly stated, do not judge wthiout first observing your own faults. Maybe you didn't see the part I temporarily forgot? Also, I fail to see how not being anti-muslim is being obtuse. But then again you hate all religions because you're an ignorant fool, so I guess that makes sense.  You are making the assumption that homosexuality and pedophilia are the same.  How so?  Homosexuality involves two consenting adults, how does this differ from heterosexuality?  You are the one judging homosexuality to be wrong, you fail to take your own advice.

And if you haven't noticed, homosexuality has been illegal since the beginning of time. Unlike you, I don't want to appeal to the masses of today and say I'm homo-friendly so I won't look different.
Conformity has nothing to do with this.  Why deny someone a right when it has no effect on you?

And then how would beastiality be wrong in your eyes? How do you know if the animal consents or not?
::)

Aaaand... I am not judging homosexuals as being wrong. God has judged them already (various times, wiped out a whole city of them), therefore, I have no need to. You wouldn't say the person who announces the verdict of a jury the judge. I just knew some short-sighted git would assume hypocrisy.
Don't use religion as an excuse for your intolerance.  God also claimed that adulterers should be stoned.  Would you agree with this?

EDIT:
Get a brain soul eater. If you think this is ignorance you should try a pair of glasses. Or maybe you're just too dull witted to realize that I'm not the one judging.
I fail to see how you can possibly believe that.

24
Pedophilia Homosexuality are both equally wrong. Two men that want to have sex are no better than one that wants to with a child.

Also, how is it offensive that Muslims marry? Jesus said to love your enemy and not judge without first observing our own faults.
The sheer ignorance and stupidity that is contained within this post is astounding......

25
I have heard arguments that homosexuality is hereditary and even contagious. All of these suggestions are plausible, but whether nature or nurture, certain forms of behavior that are contrary to the interests of society should not be encouraged. I'm sure that even people like you would agree with that.
You seem to have the idea that being homosexual prevents you from benefiting society.  While homosexuality itself doesn't benefit society in any particular way, it doesn't prevent someone from benefiting it.  Having a traditionally structured family is not the only way to be an asset to society.

You are free to discuss racism here, the only thing banned here is making blatantly racist statements for the sake of racism.
I have witnessed such conduct from yourself on numerous occasions. As I have observed of most of the members here, there seems to be no set standard for anyone but the new and unpopular; namely, myself.
I'm guessing most of the posts you are referring to are from the Complete Nonsense forum or one of the lower, less serious boards.  Every "racist" comment that I've seen has been made in jest, while your comments appear to be genuinely sincere.

26
Well, you're basing your criticism of homosexuals on an out-dated sense of morality, derived from the false pretense that homosexuals are inherently evil.
No. It is common sense. Morality does not enter into it.
Common sense?  How so?  I fail to see how any amount of logic could lead you to the conclusion that homosexuality is in any way detrimental to society.  You are not using common sense, you are basing your arguments on an irrational disgust of homosexuals.

I use Chrome. I have never had a single problem, and I switched from being a huge fan of Firefox. I prefer Chrome over all browsers. Google wins.
