Well its more of a symbolic thing anyway

I'm sure I've caught it 8 days ago (met a friend who tested positive the day after) but I didn't really have any symptoms since. I only had a slightly sore throad for some hours last sunday and today I have a slightly runny nose, but that's it. May very well not be corone related at all.

I tested positive yesterday because I wanted to visit my parents and make sure I'm negative...

I caught the corone!  :'(

Regarding the Vit D thing:
Are there placebo controlled double blind studies on the subject?
Because correlation =\= causation.

Less active, multi-morbid people would be expected to have both lower vit D levels and a more severe covid disease; without the low(er) vit D likely being the cause of it.

5
Which one is the most worth it to listen?
(Worth it as in most controversial)

6
I never listened to the joe rogan podcast until now. Csn anybody tell me the podcast name that is controversial/has the covid misinformation in it?

Your baby is sick, most likely with covid. What do you do?
a) Feed it ivermectin
b) inject bleach
c) Putting some kind of UV light inside the body
d) Call your local alternative medicine specialist
e) none of the above*

*Option e) is not available for ameritards.

Multiple positive tests for weeks after the infection are not common, its believed to be due to remaining viral particles (without there being an active infection).

9
Aspirate before you vaccinate

Espicially wih moderna
Not true. Vaccination does not need prior aspiration per the newest guidelines.

Ffp2 mask reduce transmission by over 99% if everyone wears them.

if

Mandatory at the exam.

I ate lunch this tuesday with someone that tested positive the day after. Gonna be interesting if I got the corone!
...also I have an exam next monday, so I am not going to get tested unless I have symptoms strong enough to not let me do the exam.

I had (and still have) no symptoms, so I went to my exam today, wearing an ffp2 mask. Of course easily passed it, as usual.

Edit: did an antigen test before visiting my parents, it was negative :)

Do you even have to isolate as an exposed person when you're fully vaxxed? What are the rules there? The rules are too confusing here now.
No I dont have to isolate or go in quarantine.

Well, as long as they are not cheap counterfeits. God knows the market place is full of the crap. If you pay less than a $1 for a P2/N95/KN95/KF94 mask - you more than likely have a fake (at least here in Oz). I bought 400 of the P2 masks a few days ago. Made sure they were legit, Aussie made and TGA certified / tested
I got mine for free, from the local university hospital. So definitely the good shit  ;)

But more power to you in any event. If people aren't vaccinated in Sweden by now, they've made their choice and accepted the risk. You shouldn't put your life on pause to accommodate their stupid risk taking.

After all, this was a test you need to take to provide for your future prosperity. And most people agree 'it's only a matter of when we get it, not if'. Another reason why sitting out the test on account of 'maybe' having covid to temporarily, maybe protect any dumbarse antivaxxers would have been stupid

Frankly, if they are anti vaxxers, they have already failed the test of life
100% agree here. People should accept that their gonna be exposed to the corone in the next weeks. There's no way around it if you have a social life. If you're vacced and boostered, you may not get it or likely stay asymptomatic/only have a mild disease. If you aren't vaxxed, it may hit you harder. Too bad, very sad, sucks for them.

Novak? You mean novax?!

Hes a fucking retard, apparently he requested a personal cook in his quarantine hotel. The audacity!

Sport injuries are neither contgagious nor overloading hospitals, so not comoarable.
Those people brought their injuries on themselves and I don't want my taxpayer money spent funding their pointless hobbies.

Fat smokers are the worst as they are probably from the lower classes and not economically or culturally important.   They probably don't even know what intersectionality is. They made their choice to stick that pork pie in their disgusting mouth, so they can die by that decision.

Don't even get me started on sexually transmitted infections - those people want to fuck like rabbits, we should just let their dicks rot off to teach them some morality.   How will they learn otherwise? I don't to pay for their bacchanalian pleasures and why should I?
Ah yes I remember, it was just two weeks ago when the cancer patients and the grandma with arthritis pain couldnt get their surgeries because of all the people with the STDs overloading the icu...  ::)
He says, completely missing the fucking point.  Again.

People with diabetes have in fact being overloading our health system.  Many of these are fatties and even worse, poor.  They chose their lifestyles, so fuck em.  Lets get more worthy people into beds.  People should be treated on the basis of their virtuousness, not their needs.

Strangely enough, this hasn't been done.  It's been treated as a public health issue...
No they dont overload our hospitals. Yes all those are public health issues.
I dont even know what you're on about, I never said the unvaxxed covid patients shouldnt get treatement.

I fully support hospitals sending antivaxxers home.
What about people who go skiing or mountain biking and break a leg?  Or someone with concussion after their MMA session?  Or someone in a car accident who was speeding?  Or the guy who smokes and eats fatty food who has heart pains?

If you are going to say unvaccinated are not deserving of healthcare, then you will have to have someone stood on the hospital door checking everyone who arrives has met your criteria for worthiness.    You all also going to end up with a pretty complicated rule book.  You will probably need some kind of panel of moral philosophers to convene on every case and make a judgement.

Sounds like a fucking awful way to run a healthcare system to me, so good luck with that.

I think unvacced covid patients should get treatment if possible, but in a triage situation I am for including the vaccination status as a big influece factor in regard to who gets an icu bed.

That seems wildly irresponsible and at the same time very on brand. Do you mean Monday the 10th, or the following Monday (17th)?

It's monday the 10th.
I'm not too worried, all people there and especially the ones I interact with are vaccinated and mostly also boostered. Additionally, I'll be wearing an ffp2 (n95) mask which pretty much stops the spread of the corone.

A 2019 report by the National Center for Education Statistics determined that mid to high literacy in the United States is 79% with 21% of American adults categorized as having "low level English literacy," including 4.1% classified as "functionally illiterate" and an additional 4% that could not participate.[1] According to the U.S. Department of Education, 54% of adults in the United States have prose literacy below the 6th-grade level.

Certainly not a surprise. But still, it's refreshing to see muricans becoming self aware!
"We must raise the reading skills of our children because they need it"
People in Africa:"you serious?"
Whats your point? That children in developed countries should remain uneducated because children in africa are, too?

Look, in America there are only 2 jobs we can give to the olds. Walmart greeter and high profile politician. The Walmarts wouldn't take these assholes.
Love that one!

@jimmy There are also lots of cold viruses going around, so not everey illness is the corone. So hopefully you got something else!
Are sou triple vaccinated?

I wish the news about omicron would become clear. A week ago they were saying it might not be as bad, but this morning I read that it's just as bad. Maybe they are trying to get people to take it seriously so they are not willing to say if it really is milder.
It's still too early for conclusive data, mostly because death rate lags so much behind infection rate. But the preliminary data we got looks promising. In my opinion it's safe to say omikron is less severe than delta; but by how much we'll see in a couple of weeks.

26
I'm not 100% sure, but considering how infectious omikron is, I doubt masks are helping too much. I personally would make it a rule that unvacced people have to stay at home and only recovered/vacced are allowed in public. This would be the only rule, no further restrictions needed.

Too bad for his family.

Herman cain award on reddit.

While my empathy towards the deceased is limited if the person didn't vaccinate even he had the possibility to do so, their death still sucks a lot for the family and also for the doctors and nurses that had to take care of him and watch him suffocate.

28
Do you guys think you'll get through the coming month or two without catching the omikron?

I personally think I won't be able to get through the winter without getting it, but thanks to the vaccine I'm not too worried.

Also omikron has shown to replicate 70x faster in the bronchial tissue, but 10x slower in the lung (which means reduced risk for pneumonia, which is what kills you). Apparently, hospitalisations are 2/3 down with omikron compared to delta. Which is good news, but considering it is so much more infectious, hospitals might still get heavily overloaded.

29
they need to triage the icu

ICUs are triaged.
I think in this context 'triage' means to let somebody die/only do palliative care due to not being able to provide an icu bed for this person. At least in my country this hasn't happened yet.

The plague is now circling the house of Crouton.

My daughter, who's been fully vaccinated and wears a mask, has come into contact with someone at school who has it.  Hopefully she just won't get covid.  Or maybe my entire family gets a low grade case and we have to quarantine for 2 weeks.
Yeah if you are vacced + boostered it shouldn't be a big deal. Still, I hope you won't get it since it still sucks with the potential loss of smell, having to stay in isolation etc.

Keep us updated on your situation!
