Okay Jura, I still want to be bffs. I know this is a touchy subject, but I really have been trying to understand all the opinions on it. I don't expect anyone here to solve the problems, but I am truly interested in everyone's ideas about what they should do differently. I know they should stop bombing the shit out of Gaza, and the civilian toll is horrifying. It's bad, and the leaders and the warmongering defense contractors make it all worse. Politicians make it worse. The media make it worse.

I cannot believe themightykabool just brokered world peace and I understood every word of it! lol

Quote
The main solution for both situations is to end the war as soon as possible and put Netanyahu on trial for the crime of genocide. It is obvious that political wills act in favor of the party committing genocide. It is obvious that they will continue to remain silent or play Don Quixote. They will not produce any real reaction and will cause the public's frenzied anger to escalate. This may be the psychological environment that evil globalists want to create for a new genocide of the Jews. And so there will be no obstacle remain to the world's great reset.

wise, I agree that Netanyahu should be tried for war crimes (and all the other crimes he has committed). I wish all the war criminals would be held responsible for their actions. The ones sending others to die as martyrs as they sit in luxury. The war profiteers... all of them.

Also, Mr Crouton shall become croissant!

Funny you should mention war profiteers...
A big weapons company here had a christmas party and it got inturrupted by activists dressed as santa, protesting the wars.

Apparently they think Kongsberg Aerospace and Defense sells weapons to Israel.

But they do not.  They do sell to the US tho.  One of their bigger customers.  But I guess its easy to hate weapon makers when you don't bother to think that without them, Ukraine would have lost to Russia already.

I don't like storms!

Ban all umbrella manufacturers!

The answer to that question from my narrow perspective is:  It's not my responsibility to figure out their problems.

Picture this, my neighbor asks to borrow my gun, says he has bad blood with a different neighbor who just intentionally ran over one of his kids.  I ask him what he plans to do with it exactly and he tells me he's going to murder at least half of them.

I'm going to say no, come up with a better plan.

As far as what can be done, Hamas actually released a peace proposal a few weeks ago which basically boils down to establishing the 1967 borders.

Seems reasonable to me.  But as far as I can tell the current government of Israel doesn't want peace and is in fact actively manipulating the situation to make peace impossible.

The US actually does have the power to stop this.  We could tell them to use the 1967 borders or we're cutting them loose.  That's it.  They have enough firepower to flatten Gaza.  They don't have enough firepower to fend off the entire region.

It's Turkey!  Say it right, Turk!

Or let's go back to calling it the Ottoman Empire.

This treachery of pushing the umlaut on us will not stand.

They throw rockets at us and we shoot them down.  What happens when one of them gets through?

This is also my question about Hamas constantly firing rockets at Israel. The iron dome is impressive, but what does it do to people's minds to have rockets flying in their direction all the time? They must wonder "what if one gets through" every time. Or maybe they become used to it. idk

There are technical aspects in modern warfare that I don't think the media conveys very well.  One of them is counter battery fire

When a rocket is launched at Israel, not only can they intercept it but they also know exactly where it was launched from and likely return fire immediately.

So if Israel is concerned about rocket attacks then interception and counter battery fire are probably their most effective options.

Turning Gaza into a wasteland of rubble and dead children isn't necessary to defend Israel.

I do feel a certain amount of vengeance that makes it difficult for me to sympathize with the plight of Gaza. I understand that it's not a proper way to feel. I do wonder what everyone thinks Israel is supposed to do about all this. Hamas has promised more Oct 7ths, they never stop launching rockets, not even during the truce, they didn't give back many of the hostages, not even all the children were sent back. They want an Israeli ceasefire, but they don't want to cease firing.

Another thing that bothers me is the amount of propaganda on social media. Both Israel and Hamas have flooded the internet with it. We can't know what is true or not.

This number of Israeli civs killed it, it hasn't changed since Oct 7.  Hamas may want a lot of Oct 7's but if they could have done another one then they would have by now.  This tells me the IDF has them in check.

Venegance is a natural feeling.  which is not the same as it being good.

Here's some numbers that cut through the propgranda.  Hamas has killled about 1200 Israelis.

The IDF has killed well over 15k Hamas.  The real number is much much higher. But it seems to be demographically similar to the general population.

One more time, because this is important.  The number of casualties in Gaza is nearly identical to the demographics.

The only conclusion you can read from this fact is that Israel just doesn't care who they kill.

What I want personally is very simple, just stop killing civilians for no reason.  That's all.  I understand if it's counterbattery fire. But there's just no reason for this.  And it's making us look terrible.  Israel's bloodlust is quickly drawing us into a conflict with Iran.  They throw rockets at us and we shoot them down.  What happens when one of them gets through?

Vengeance is not a valid reason for mass civilian murder,  If it were then Oct 7 would be justified.  This, of course, is a monstrous notion.  Defending Israel's massacre in Gaza is equally monstrous.

The bombing of power targets, according to intelligence sources who had first-hand experience with its application in Gaza in the past, is mainly intended to harm Palestinian civil society: to “create a shock” that, among other things, will reverberate powerfully and “lead civilians to put pressure on Hamas,” as one source put it.

I don't think there's very many examples of this strategy working.  I'm sure the IDF is aware of this.

I'm inclined to believe that no one who has ever ordered the bombing of civilians on this scale seriously thought it would bring them closer to victory.  It's just mass murder out of frustration.

I doubt telling these CEOs to go fuck themselves means much to them.  If Twitter somehow became reliably advertiser friendly then they'd probably start advertising again without a second thought.

A good CEO doesn't let his emotions get in the way of business.  A bad CEO will get on stage and tell the world to go fuck itself for not making him money.

Having the government decide what we can and cannot hear?  Not so sure about that.

The only sensible path is for Elon to sell half his stock in Tesla which should be enough to fund Twitter for the foreseeable future.  Philanthropy isn't cheap.

Bill Gates pledged most of his fortune to help mosquitos in Africa or whatever.  Elon should be willing to do the same for free speech.

I greatly respect Elon Musk for moving forward with a revenue free model of Twitter in a powerful way.  I've said since the beginning that the only way to guarantee a free speech platform is to ban all advertising and run it as a non profit.

Having to hear someone read the Quran is it's own punishment.  It's repetitive, very aggressive and seems like something that should be read in a screaming voice.  It's a lot like Mein Kampf in some ways.

I don't know how much this visit will help.  Israel's leadership is sort of out of its mind at the moment.

But maybe it'll be enough to get back some of those advertisers he lost.

I haven't read the entire conversation.  I've read it has to do with the Great Replacement conspiracy.

Whatever the case it doesn't look good.

But I think Elon has tried to make up for it by banning certain phrases like "from the river to the sea" on his free speech platform.

The IDF explains this one.

He brings up a very good point.  Neither of us are doctors.  We don't know how those children died.  They could have died from natural causes immediately before being incinerated by bombing runs.  Gaza is oddly short of doctors and journalists at the moment so it's hard to say for sure.

Another explanation I think the IDF should explore is that there are no children in Gaza, just an exceptionally high percentage of people suffering from dwarfism.

I've heard of it.  There's a few different ways of looking at it.

Running for president as some guy has an interesting weakness.  If you win you need to form an administration which means knowing a lot of people with an obscure skillset.  The RNC and DNC have access to these people.  If you're just some guy then you probably don't know enough of these people to form an administration.  You have to rely on one of the existing two parties.  This has a tendency to hamstring any agenda you have which doesn't align with either party well.

There's the "oh my god, fascism!" angle.  It is a valid concern here.  Maybe a bigger problem is packing the administrative state with people who couldn't run a government even if they wanted to.  They're looking for loyalty over competence.

The people were largely insulated from all the stupid nonsense did during Trump's first term.  If Trump wins a second term I think we're going to feel it.  I think a lot government related services are just going to stop functioning effectively.

I'm not sure if it's genocide though it's hard to argue with that.  It could be just bloodlust.  Just wanting to murder a massive amount of civilians to make themselves feel better about Oct 7.

To be fair statistically they must have nailed a few terrorists in this bombardment.

So yeah, our tax dollars at work.  In Biden's defense he has politely asked them to not commit mass murder but then Israel told us to go fuck ourselves.  And we are of course going to continue to send them weapons.

PSA.  The threat of goons infiltrating congress is very real.

What is a goon?

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=gooning

Quote
"Gooning" may be most simply defined as that state usually achieved after a prolonged edging session, when a man becomes completely hypnotized by the feeling radiating his penis. Since a gooning state can only be achieved after edging, the man's dick will have become mightily aroused at this point and every caress the male genitals are subjected to will trigger potent elation. As the man keeps edging and thus keeps experiencing intense pleasure, he enters a state of trance where his mind intimately merges with his cock : the gooning state, where he and his dick become one. To be even more accurate, when the gooning state is achieved, the man's body becomes for all intents and purposes an appendage to his erection. When this state is achieved, the male becomes freed of all social codes of conduct, and his arousal, alone, dictates his reactions. As a result, a gooned out man will become very expressive and demonstrative : he may become very vocal, while his body and face might take on undignified expressions and poses, all in response to the intensely exquisite caresses his penis is exposed to. Hence the term "goon", since at this point the man effectively looks like a silly, foolish, or eccentric person.

Gooning is not a narcissistic manifestation. Narcissism is extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents. Rather, gooning is closer to a meditation experience, where the mind and the body align, focused on a single thought (or feeling, in this case).

It is known that the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, is highly vulnerable to this gooning state.  So much so that an entire organization known as Covenant Eyes is all that stands between him and a goon rampage.  https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2023/11/mike-johnson-covenant-eyes

So we have this shadow organization who can at any time flip the switch and send the third in line to be president into a goon state towards god knows what ends.

Which he will at this rate.   Biden's recent poll numbers are in the toilet and even the majority of his voters think he's too old.

He really needs to stand aside and let someone else run.

On the other hand I don't think Netanyahu will be around for the next US election, he seems detested in Israel by about every faction.

Polling this far out from an election, historically, hasn't meant much.  It's something to be concerned about but it's not the disaster it looks like on paper.

I don't know if Biden should step aside honestly.  I'm kind of split on that.  Personally I think he's a much better president than his own party gives him credit.
Probably and he's done good on Ukraine, which will always give put him in my good books.

However, he's fucking ancient and looks it.

No doubt.  I actually avoid his speeches because I panic a little every time he pauses just a little too long.

The US politely asks Israel to please stop killing civilians for 5 minutes.

Israel's immediate response;

I'm starting to wonder if this is some sort of game Netanyahu is playing where he's trying to make Biden look like a total ass.
