Flat Earth General / Re: Are Penguins Bio-Engineered?
« on: June 22, 2016, 07:58:37 PM »
One of the earlier mentions concerning penguins certain seems to support my theories:

"These Penguins are as bigge as a Geese, and flye not, for they haue but a little short wing, and they multiply to infinitly, upon a certain flat Iland, that men driue them from thence upon a boord, into their boates by hundreds at a time ; as if God had made the innocency of so poore a creature to become such an admirable instrument for the sustentation of man."

Perhaps a clue left.

Ant-eaters and Rhinos are weird too.

I saw a youtube video, and was convinced it never actually happened.

Please elaborate.

Sarcasm font here? I just use Italics if I can't figure out the protocol on a new forum.

I was making the assumption that most of the FE ers saw some youtube video and also at the same time, didn't do very well in math/science class, and that's why they are so confused.

Kind of like the 9/11 theorists.

9/11 HAPPENED.
WAS a terrorist attack.

Earth is STILL a sphere.

But, that's none of my business

I wonder who paid for this article to be written?

In all seriousness, I hope they safely rescue the poor bloke and no one gets hurt.

Do you honestly believe your cell phone is talking to a whizzing by ball in space that tells you where you are?

It knows exactly where I am no matter where I am.
Something must be communicating with my device.

Knowing that Sports Authority is going out of business, I thought it might be a good time to get a good deal on some new golf clubs. Being sort of new to the area, I wasn't entirely sure where the closest one was. Having the option on my phone, I decided to use the GPS assisted map application to find the nearest location, and also direct me to the location of the store.

Worked like a charm!

Got me wondering how it works every time when satellites don't exist...

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: What is below us?
« on: June 20, 2016, 08:04:13 PM »
I saw the amount of replies and thought "wow, looks like a conversation has started!"

As you could imagine, I was somewhat disappointed to see the thread has turned into a debate about edges and logos.......

For the purpose of understanding "what is below us?", I gave 2 ways in which it could work...either way may allow of both a finite or infinite edge:

1. Infinite edge allows for constant replenishment for net loss of rock lost during glacial processes
2. A finite edge could also allow for this, provided the rock source was large enough that we could not see it running out in the foreseeable future

Please do not use this thread as a platform to argue or belittle others with opposing views.

What do you mean by 'rock source'?
Where do rocks and mountains come from in your opinion?

You are asking us to perform a feat very few have done and many died attempting, and you are acting like its a walk in the park. You are being completely ridiculous.

I'm not suggesting it's easy, but the 'burden of proof' falls squarely in the hands of the FE ers at this point.

If a flat earth is to be proven, then at some point, someone will have to step and and go the distance.
The opportunity is very available. Nobody is forbidden from exploring the Antarctic.

It would be inaccessible to human beings due to the extreme conditions.
And treaties and other matters. Its quite hard to get to the antarctic. I planned a trip some time ago and was stopped due to weather. The situations have to be perfect and lots of time is needed to ensure you don't miss the window of travel. Let alone if you can withstand the conditions like sceptimatic said.

I've seen you mention "how hard" it is to go to the Antarctic on here quite a few times.
You have said it's not allowed, but that's completely untrue.

Like I said, I planned a trip there some time ago. Even seasoned explorers die in trips to the Antarctic. Its happens fairly regularly. I'm certainly not up to snuff for a journey deep into the Antarctic and I doubt many that visit this forum are either. You might as well be asking people to climb Mount Everest.

Thousands of people climb Everest every year... Unless you believe they are all "shills" and their pictures are photoshopped.
You being "up to snuff" [out of shape] has nothing to do with it.

It's done every year, by lots of people.

Flat Earth General / Re: "Eye level"
« on: June 20, 2016, 12:33:03 PM »
On a globe if you rise the horizon will not meet your eye but recede downwards. Try it in google earth.

A FEer using Google Earth as proof of something?

That's just silly.

Don't you know how silly that sounds?
--------------------------------------------------------
John, I'm pretty short. So, i will assume you are taller than me.
If we both stood with our noses touching the wall.
Then marked where our eyes met the wall.
Your eye level would be higher than mine right?

So, by definition (or lack thereof) "Eye Level" is a pretty terrible way to measure anything.

To add to that, I can look up or down. I look up, and my ceiling is at 'eye level'
I look down, and now my floor is.

It's a stupid catch phrase for FE ers. Means absolutely nothing.

Simple answer.

There is no dome or edge.

That is why one can not travel to prove it exists.

Even if someone did, the Round Earth guys would claim it was CGI!

Pretty new here, but it's obvious Papa Legba believes the Earth is a sphere.
He loves the blue marble.
Just has no friends in real life, and chooses to troll here everyday for attention.

We've all known a Papa L... It's sad, but it's our duty as humans to care for him.

There is no edge, the flat earth is an infinite plane.

Really?
Infinite plane?
Just goes on and on?
Surely a flat 4 cornered Earth has a stopping point.

What do people mean when they say " the horizon is always at eye level "?
= No matter how high you rise up into the air, your eyes will ALWAYS be able to see land far off in the distance.

Yeah, no shit.
So, this is some sort of 'proof' for a flat Earth?
I could be at Mount Everest and have the horizon "at eye level"
I could be at Death Valley and have the same result.
The horizon will always be "at eye level"... anything you see is at eye level. Always.

It's an elementary argument.
These 'catch phrases' for FE ers are terribly disturbing.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Why a sphere?
« on: June 19, 2016, 11:36:05 AM »
We all (FE believers) know that RE is essentially a NASA fabrication. I'm just wondering why they chose a sphere, and not any other shape. Surely something like a cube would be easier to convince people of, because it allows for the flat horizons we see every day. Any thoughts?

You do realize that the thought of the Earth being a sphere occurred over a thousand years before NASA right?

You do realize that a thousands years before NASA, they also thought that maggots spontaneously spawned from rotting meat, right?  ::)

Sure.
You are tip-toeing around point. - As much as you want to blame them, NASA didn't create the Heliocentric Model.
It's been a fact for hundreds of years.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Why?
« on: June 18, 2016, 10:30:12 AM »
To hide the word of god from us.
To maintain legitimacy of rule after faking the moon landing (and then realizing the earth was flat)
Money, oil (the Antarctic!), Power in knowledge

To hide God? seriously? That has to be the  most stupid thing I have heard in my 62+ years of life.

Please explain how the shape of the world hides God or has any effect on John 3:16 or any other part of being Christian?

In my opinion, and I am far from alone in it, the expanse of the universe is a magnificent testament to His creation. I am in AWE of Him every time I see the night sky. Hide God? the concept would be laughable, if it was not so completely mind bogglingly tragic. I grieve at depth of your blindness. But pray for your sight to be returned.
The Word of God clearly talks about a flat earth. The move to make science a religion and to delegitimatize the holy word starts with the flat earth.

------------------------------

The Bible mentions the 4 corners of the Earth as well. Are we to believe the Earth is a square?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Should we not always see the sun
« on: June 17, 2016, 10:46:02 PM »
Alright so this idea I had is about the sun setting and rising. If you look at the image attached, Imagine the line at the bottom is edge-to-edge of the flat earth. So if the sun was rotating around the earth, would you not be able to see it no matter what time it is, since the world is flat and the sun is thousands on miles above earth, it should always be in view should it not?

It should be if flat
And on the days there aren't clouds?
Light does not travel forever.

Yes, light does.

This is some really sad stuff.

"The word of god" is in The Bible. Not hidden.
Having a spherical Earth doesn't make obtaining Oil any easier.

'Eye Level' of a 7' tall person is different than eye level of a 5' tall person right?
