The Lounge / Re: Flat Earth Petition - Call To Action
« on: June 11, 2016, 04:36:34 AM »
Can you tell us what the 12 questions are? The video was horrible and I didn't want to wait around for him to get to the point.

Sure:

1. Why is there land at the Equator ?
2. Am I able to see the Curvature or not ?
3. Why haven't we ever seen Curved Water ?
4. How are we Breathing right now ?
5. Is the Earth very very small or is the Sun very very near ?
6. How does a convex lens make light diverge ?
7. Why doesn't the Artificial Horizon roll backwards during straight and level flight ?
8. Why is the Coriolis Effect so selective ?
9. What is the international Space Station flying over ?
10. How can microgravity be selective ?
11. Why are there craters on the Moon ?
12. Why don't we see permanent hills, mountains and valleys in the Ocean ?

The video accompanying the questions, can be viewed here:

All good here :) And thanks for the introduction to the general conduct of posting (no sarcasm). Promise to do better in the future.

Hello Bullwinkle, nice to meet you :)

No, nothing happens on the link you posted, it takes a while to load the site, but it does not auto-play anything.

I am using FF on Linux and when I click the podcast link, all the podcasts start to play at once.

Nice work with those memes :) George Orwell was one of the most intelligent and logical thinking people ever (in my opinion). Here is what I think about his quote: I think that he wanted to point out, that first-hand evidence and first-hand knowledge is what counts. Therefore and because I believe in pragmatical thinking, I like his quote best.

Hi :)

Ok. I know I posted before I introduced myself and I hope you all just ignore that.

Just to clarify, I am not a physics or mathematics genius, I have no PhD or any other academic title. I try to work with what I see and what I experience during my studies about flat earth. First hand knowledge and evidence first, then checking step by step, what science has to say about this. I believe that this is the way to go.

And I am not an atheist, I do believe in a supreme being - whatever you want to call it. And I don't believe in the construct called church (any church) or the Vatican and/or whatever is tied to it.

To provide for my family, I am doing what today is called "Cloud Development" and "IoT (Internet of things)" - mostly software (backend-services, security) and a bit of hardware.

I am looking forward to learn about flat earth from the community and to give back to the community.

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, looks like Mr. Murphy has formulated 12 questions and put those into a nice video, for the NASA people to answer:

" class="bbc_link" target="_blank">

I think those questions are legitimate questions that Neil DeGrasse Tyson should anwer.
