Flat Earth Q&A / Re: How is earth flat?
« on: November 15, 2007, 10:17:34 AM »
Please name one, just one, fact that proves the earth is flat.  I will counter it in 24 hours.

Take any three points on earth with a significant distance apart (Paris, London, and Berlin, for instance) and measure the angles between the points. If the earth were a globe the angles would add up to more than 180 degrees. This is called positive curvature and would prove the Earth is round. If the angles measure to be exactly 180 degrees, as they do in plain-old Euclidean geometry, it implies that the earth is a flat surface. Triangles whose angles measure less than 180 degrees imply a negative curvature (like a horse saddle).

this "explanation" makes absolutely no sense.

Looks like it fades out to me.  Or at worst, approaches the vanishing point.

you can't see curvature in that picture?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Theories VS hard evidence.
« on: November 15, 2007, 10:09:52 AM »
I'm just curious, is there any hard evidence to support FET yet, or will FEers just keep pointing to opinions and "literature" as "proof?"

All the hard evidence for Flat Earth Theory is in the Flat Earth Literature. Dr. Samuel Birley Rowbotham conducts a good number of tests, trials, and experiments which directly contradicts Round Earth doctrine and shows mathematically that there is no curvature to the surface of the earth.

...when you can climb a tall hill and see the curvature with your own eyes.  yeah, i'll take the word an eccentric inventor, spoken nearly two hundred years ago.

can anyone tell me what robotham's education was in physics and cosmology?

Flat Earth Debate / Re: the space shuttle "conspiracy"
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:58:26 AM »
RE belief: the shuttle flew into space, met the space station, repaired the solar panels, then came down and landed, just as NASA says.

Okay, basically your telling me that the shuttle SOMEHOW* flew into space, met the space station that magically floats in the air, then SOMEHOW* repaired these supposed solar panels, then SOMEHOW* came down through the atmosphere without burning, and SOMEHOW* landed safely from that height, as NASA claims.

that's exactly what he's saying, and all of these *SOMEHOWS* can be answered with an elementary science book.  you did go to elementary school, right?

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Radius of the Earth proves spherical

My stopwatch doesn't have that function, and if it did I wouldn't trust it . . . because WTF?

such is the problem with you crazies.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Doctored Photos
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:49:28 AM »
The photos of a Round Earth ARE inconsistent. This has been shown on this forum many times.

oh, well as long as it's been proven on THIS FORUM.  why not submit some of your breakthroughs to an established journal?  that's what real scientists do...

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Ignorance.
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:48:10 AM »
I love when noobs get on claiming ignorance when they are to ignorant to even being to try to look up answers for themselves..  ::)

it's not that they can't find your "answers," it's that they make no sense.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: the world is round
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:39:21 AM »
What science book presents experimental evidence proving that the world is a sphere?

has anyone ever fallen off the flat earth?

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Why doubt RE Theory?
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:38:48 AM »
RE Theory is wrong because experimental evidence demonstrates that the earth is flat.

what about sailing all the way around the world?  surely that would have to prove it's round...

Proof of Ice wall with conspiracy guards:

what exactly do you think this proves?

Flat Earth Debate / the world is round

...and if you think otherwise, you're an idiot.  help yourself to a first grade science book.
