Flat Earth General / Re: Just discovered this forum

I think you will find that 99.999% of the folks debating this issue don't REALLY believe the earth is flat, even when debating on that side. It's a tool to sharpen your debating skills.

Flat Earth General / Brit proves Earth is round for less than $150.00
« on: March 25, 2010, 06:55:27 PM »
British man took a cheap digital camera, put a GPS system in it, duct taped it all up and sent it aloft on a weather balloon. Got some great pictures.
For the price of a good meal you can prove it yourself.

I see this is your first post. Perhaps I can save you some frustration. No one in here really believes the earth is flat. It's a debating tool. If they say they do, they are full of shit. DON'T fall for it.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: explain to me

Just a FYI roundearthistrue.......this site is not "for real". No one here REALLY believes the Earth is flat. Maybe at one time there were a few "loonies" who did, who knows, but now its a group of, some, not all, very intelligent individuals who use "flat earth" to challenge others beliefs. Don't get sucked in.
You will never win. Just sit back and enjoy the show. Watch others go crazy trying to debunk the debunkers. And Mr. Bishop, I gotta hand it to you...you're the best!!

Well well..I leave for a few weeks and look..138 posts.. and most arguing the existence of God rather than addressing my question. Such a waste of time.

I cringe when I see someone praying for, or thanking "God" for something. Case in point..final table World Series of Poker. Chip leader, refugee from Vietnam who went thru hell before fleeing the country as a child, praying to God to win a hand. OK, where was god when his friends, as he tells, were dieing before his eyes? If his god can somehow help him win a hand of poker, where was he when his friends were staving to death? Where was he in Germany in 1944? As someone who spent a year in the jungles of Vietnam in 1968, I can assure you, god was nowhere to be found. If there is a God, he makes Hitler look like Mother Teresa. Why worship such a motherfucker??

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Anything that will prove it?
« on: May 10, 2007, 08:51:15 PM »
IMO there is nothing that anyone can do to prove to a TRUE FEer that the Earth is round. If you read thru the FAQ its clear, at least to me, that only someone with serious mental health issues could believe this. I have a feeling that Tom, along with most everyone else in here are just having a little fun and using this "Flat Earth" debate as a means to have people question their beliefs and not take things at face value.

Hey Tom, not to get OT but, you said you're from Monterey. You have given me several hours of entertainment and I would like to return the favor. I'm going to be in Carmel next week Tues and Weds. Let me buy you lunch. I hear ll Fornaio is pretty good.

Dear Mr. Bishop

I found this sight a few weeks ago and frankly I thought you were full of shit. After reading many posts and just finishing up with Zetetic Cosmogony, a fine piece of work I might add, I have started to question my own beliefs. I wish to thank you for openning my eyes. Keep up the good work. BTW, do you guys get together from time to time in person. I bet you guys are party animals!!

I'm curious once again...Narc, how do you explain the missing lower part of the sun?  Yes, I know about perspective, but that doesn't explain this. And BTW, your right, from those pics the earth is "Flat"...

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Let's convert some non-believers
« on: April 19, 2007, 01:49:33 PM »
Its a noble cause cattlecruiser but I'm afraid your wasting your time. You will never win this debate. Most of the "FEers" here don't really believe in a flat Earth, they just like to debate. It makes good practice to argue against a known fact. Hell, if you can debate on the side of a flat earth with the skill that alot do here, you can move mountains in the real world. Of those that DO really believe, well, you can't reason with them, everythings a "conspiracy".

Do you have children Tom?

There is no such thing as a privately satellite. They are built and sent up by Government contractors

Oh now I'm confused Tom. In the FAQ, if I'm not mistaken, it says there are no satellites.

22
DAMN!! This is better than porn!!   :P  anyhoo...curiosity has gotten the better of me and I can't help from asking a FEer..
To believe that the world is flat, you have to buy into alot of things that are patiently absurd. Worldwide conspiracy, ice wall patrols, fake photos, etc.  I just can't help from wondering what it was that pushed you over the edge so to speak?

Flat Earth Debate / Thanks for the laughs....however...
« on: April 12, 2007, 07:02:31 PM »
I was watching a show last night, a scientist made the comment "some people still think the Earth is flat". I got to thinking, just who are these people? I let my fingers do the walking and found this sight. Had a few laughs reading some of the posts. Yep, he was right, there are still people who think the Earth is flat. What I find even more amazing is the amount of time and thought others take in debating the issue.
I mean, come on, these folks are...A. Really believe this, and are clearly delusional...B. Took too many drugs in the 60's   C. Will say anything just to get a reaction. Why waste your time debating?
