Oh that clears up everything, thank you for such a marvelous explanation, how was I so blind not to see that...(sarcasm)

But for real now, is there anyone who believes in FE that can explain this? TheEngineer maybe? Or Tom Bishop?
Probably they'll just say, "I haven't seen that".

This is an elite club. If you cannot think for yourself you don't belong here. >:(
What does that has to do with anything?

Yeah man, it is a conspiracy. They....ehm...(Think, come on, something idiotic, think)

ehm.....Yeah, the government, paid the telescope companies to make the telescopes so that you see the ISS through them and satellites too. (yeah, that works)

It's a dark disk that sometimes obscures the moon.
ZOMG!!!!
YOU ARE A GEMIUS!
ANNOUNCE THESE FINDINGS IMGEDIOUTLY!

EXTRA EXTRA!!! MAGICAL DISK FLYING AROUND IN SPACE FOR NO APPARENT REASON! PROBABLY SOME SORT OF DARK MATTER INVISIBLE TO TELESCOPES! ONLY OBSCURES MOON, NOT STARS THOUGH!
EXTRA!

The earth is round. This whole site and organization are meaningless.

Maybe for entertainment purposes. And some people just like to argue. But mostly, you are correct

True, the main reason why I haven't deleted this page from my bookmark is because I have a natural tendency to argue about, anything. Also, these guys are so funny  ;D

FE'ers do so why don't they do it?  And all these scientists that Tom listed somewhere, why wouldn't they do it?

Maybe they are afraid of persecution / adversity / underdogness.  But you cannot deny that some people have gone in search of the edge of the Earth, and they have never returned.  I believe they fell off the edge.

They are not chilling, they are freezing. And if the Earth was flat, then they would barely stand since the wind would be so strong that would pull them to the edge and out of the Earth. Remember, the Earth is moving up, so the air is pushing toward the ice wall and then out of the planet.

And what would that be?

Unless there were something pushing back on the air.  In that case you would not be able to tell the difference.

Then which coutries exactly are on the eastern ridge and the western ridge? And if Earth is flat then why hasn't anyone tried rock climbing to the other side of Earth?

There is no 'eastern' or 'western' ridge.  A number of people have tried to find the edge, but most have not returned or just didn't make it.

What about the scientists?

They're just chillin'.  They are not interested in searching for the edge of the Earth.  They have other research interests and thusly never think of climbing down the side of the Earth.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: 1g flat earth speed questions
« on: April 02, 2007, 05:29:07 AM »
What makes the Earth so special and why is it special? Last time I checked, it is nothing but a big rock in the middle of nowhere (space).

I find this astonishing.  Last time I checked, I found it to be the very thing relative to which I measure the rest of the universe.  It's right here, whereas everything else is up there; the Earth is at the bottom of everything  It would appear to be, as you say, in the middle, but not indeed of nowhere but rather of everywhere.  If nothing else, it's nothing but a big rock where you'll be spending your whole life.  It's basically the most important big rock in space that humans have ever seen.

Add to that the disconcerting observation that the Earth seems to be the only place where life is found, and you've got a very special place indeed.

And why wouldn't there be life on other planets? Also, everything is above the Earth? What about all those planets and start that we have seen "below" it? And the Comets that have hit Antarctica?

And just because we live on Earth, thet doesn't make it Special. It makes it the most important thing to us, but it is not special. There can be hundreds upon millions of planets out there just like there Earth.

You TEACH? I am really hoping this is a huge joke......God. Who gave you a fucking degree? You know, this whole forum is really funny, but if you are not joking, and you actually teach this to impressionable kids, then that is just sad......
In a few states in America, land of the free, they've banned evolutionism teachings. Creationism or nothing they said.

DAMN THE BIBLE BELT!!!!!!!! They are making half a generation of ignorants imbeciles.

Well, I voted no because I know you are talking about FE. But they might be a conspiracy for other things. (things that MAKE MORE SENSE).

But as I said, I don;t think the governments in the whole planet can come together and work together for ANYTHING but blow each other's heads off. That's the only thing they are good at.

God himself is on the other side of the Earth, holding it up.

WOW, doesn't he get tired?
He switches of with Atlas.

Maybe he has low self-esteem.
Maybe he has low self-esteem.
You mean Allah? If so, I thought they hated each other.

Self-hate is a remarkably poetic thing.

Hey, the Bible is 100% true.  How do I know?  The Bible is true because the Bible says the Bible is true.

The Lord of The Rings says The Lord of The Rings is true... That makes it 100% true. There's even photographic evidence, I have it...

I'm God. How do I know I'm God? Because I said that I am God. BOW DOWN AND WORSHIP ME!!!!!!!!!!

Can someone answer how we know the numerical value of the speed of light in vacuo?

With very, very, very, very, very good light detectors, I suppose.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Sick and tired of the non-believers!
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:44:08 AM »
I am so sick and tired of people who continue to question the validity of the flat-earth model. Even at the school where I teach, there are still many who question the science behind the explanations. I can understand that some of my 5th grade students don't have the brain power yet to grasp the concept or to see beyond the lies, but for an adult I consider it an UNPARDONABLE SIN.

And, to the non-believers who are still clinging to the round-earth myth, here is a great scientific web page that will change your mind. THIS IS IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE OF A FLAT EARTH LADIES AND GENTLEMEN:
--> http://www.sacred-texts.com/earth/za/index.htm

Please, PLEASE, PLEASEtell me you are joking when you said you teach. PLEASE in the name of Einstein tell you are joking!!!

Where do you live? In the bible belt? It can't be in the USA, they would have already arrested you for poisoning the mind of the kids.

Dude, answer me this simple questions, and I will be convince that FE is real:

That's it.  I have seen the light.  I woke up this morning and realized the FE is just...not possible.  I mean how can gravity not exist?  I've even witnessed a Foucault pendulum at my old alma mater rotate to knock over golf tees!  GPS doesn't require satellites?  Pfft!  Google Earth?  I've used it to see my house!

How could I have been so blind?!?  From this day forward, its RE ALL THE WAY!!

Unn, I don't know. Can people just change so quickly?

Anyway, congratulations. Now the next question, is Spacetime flat or round?  ;D

Anti-matter of course! A material that we cannot even begin to define, is simply on the other side of the Earth....

Still, I thought matter and Antimatter destroy each other when they come into contact.

AM I A GHOST THEN? :o :o :o

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Is the Moon flat too in FE?
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:03:16 AM »
Just because the earth does not have a gravitational field doesn't mean the moon can't.

So the moon has one, but not the Earth? And I thought FE'ers didn't believe in gravity.
And if you do, then what is gravity? Why does the moon has one and not the Earth?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Watch this
« on: April 01, 2007, 09:01:13 AM »
Yea, because 10 feet over 4 miles is really noticeable.

Actually, if you are in phase with the foot of the hill, you can see it. Also, if there was a hill, and the car was going at such a speed, don't you think it would jump?

Flat Earth Debate / Re: The earth is flat, end of the debate

The earth's surface is flat, there is no question in my mind about that. No SANE PERSON can dispute that. It says in the Book of Scriptures, in the book of Judaica and also in the Writings of the Ancient Egyptians and Greeks.

Therefore I am pleased to see a site that allows us to speak the truth, as shall the truth set us free. Can I pledge a generous contribution?

Same question as mint, are you using a 5000 year old book that talks of people walking on water, fire raining down on cities because of homosexualism, guys making the Earth in 7 days (not to mention Flat) and, of course, saying that the Earth is flat?

If so, you need help man. And I already have a bible. Two actually, one is Spanish and one in English. And why I don't believe in the bible, because, unlike most people, "I ACTUALLY READ IT!"

If you read the bible "on your own, without a teacher or priest telling you what to read, you WILL become Atheist or a REAL Christian (by real Christian I mean a person who follow Jesus and Jehovah and is a racist, sexist, hater of all the other religions, intolerant and, you could say, pure evil).

And before you say anything, read the bible, and then come to me. (not only the new testament, the old one too. There's where you find all the evil things of god)

What part of "THE END OF THE TRACK IS ON THE OTHER SIDE (THAT WOULD BE THE DOWNHILL SIDE) OF THE HILL" don't you understand?

What he means is that if there was a hill, and most of the track was going uphill, then that means we, instead of seeing a curvature on the end, would see a hill. We will see a BIG hill on the track. (remember, it is 5 miles of uphill track)

Also, if it was a hill, we would be able to see it by using the threes next to the track as a reference.
