##### Flat Earth Believers / New Gravity Theory
« on: May 02, 2006, 07:16:35 PM »
As suggested by the title, I have a new idea of how gravity works. This is likely to be cross-posted in General, especially if responses here are lacking in number.

Well, we all know that Earth's gravity pulls us with a force of 1/r^2 on the surface of the Earth. However, FE doesn't necessarily accept the Theory of Universal Gravitation. Therefore, there is nothing telling us that gravity has to be at all connected with the Earth.

Using this assumption, I suggest that there is a point in the universe from which two forces emanate. First, there is an attractive force that goes at 1/r^2, which falls off slowly. Second, there is a replusive force that goes at >1/r^2, which falls off quickly (I used 1/r^5 when I first came up with the theory, so I'll use that to describe the power of this force from here on). These forces keep the bottom of the Earth at the point where the attractive force becomes stronger than the repulsive one. We measure gravity on the surface of the Earth as 1/r^2 because the attractive force becomes more powerful than the repulsive one at the bottom of the Earth, where it's being pushed harder than it's being pulled, and the repulsive force's power has fallen off so much by the time it reaches us that it's more or less impossible to measure.

##### Flat Earth Believers / Atmosphere
« on: April 27, 2006, 09:58:21 AM »
This has been brought up many times, and every time (that I've read), RE hasn't really let us discuss this without interference. So, any ideas about how the atmosphere might work on the flat Earth?

I've suggested that there's a nontangible (to us) dome around the Earth that keeps it in. The Mesopotamian Model, I believe, has a very tangible dome that keeps it in. I'm not sure what Rowbotham has said about it, if he said anything about it. Any others?

##### Flat Earth Believers / Shape of the Earth
« on: April 24, 2006, 06:20:21 PM »
No, I don't mean flat vs. round. I'm wondering what shape FE believers think that flat Earth is and why. This not only includes the shape of the surface, but also the rest of the Earth (ie a disc, a square, a cube, a cylinder, etc.).

I, myself, am a bit torn on this subject, so I won't start. Anyone else care to?

##### Flat Earth Believers / Flat Earth Believers - Rules & Guidelines
« on: April 23, 2006, 07:47:12 PM »
Welcome to the Flat Earth Believers forum!

As is strongly suggested by the name, this forum is meant for believers in the Flat Earth theory to have a place to discuss issues within the theory, but not to alienate FEers from the rest of the board. Thus, some Round Earthers will be allowed to post here (so long as they do not make pro-RE posts), and those who are not will still be able to read everything posted here. That said, I do encourage all believers to post the majority of their ideas in the General Discussion forum, as well.

Rules

The rules can be found here, and I will add that only flat Earth posts will be allowed. I have no problem with people playing devil's advocate for RE from time to time, so long as it serves to further the (pro-FE) discussion.

Joining

To join, simply PM me or apply for usergroup membership. The criteria are, basically, that you've shown yourself to be a reasonable debater and have argued the FE side of a debate at least once. You will be turned down if I know nothing about you, however, so be sure to at least make yourself known elsewhere on the board as one who fits the criteria first.

And with that, happy posting!

##### Flat Earth Information Repository / Genuine Flat Earth Site?
« on: April 09, 2006, 03:57:55 AM »
I found a website here that claims to be genuine, if my fellow believers are interested. If anyone knows it to be a hoax, or, for that matter, knows it, for a fact, to be genuine, let us know.

##### Flat Earth Q&A / New Believer on Board
« on: April 08, 2006, 09:54:10 PM »
Hello!

It appears that posting "Hello!" threads isn't commonplace here, but since I'll never feel right being active on on a forum until I post one, here it is. So... Hi! I suppose a long introduction isn't necessary, but I suppose I should point out that I'm a believer in the Flat Earth theory (though for far different reasons than most FEers) and will be defending it. I used to be an REer and believed the propaganda, but then I heard that people still believed in a flat Earth, decided to find out why (after the customary "What a bunch of looneys!" wore off), heard the facts, and converted shortly thereafter. Anywho, see you all on the boards.

Cheers!
