Flat Earth Q&A / Meteor shower intensity
« on: February 06, 2015, 08:34:27 AM »
Why are meteor showers always more intense after midnight?

Round earth explaination is elegantly simple but what have the flat earthers got to say?

Here we go. A dedicated thread discussing Sceptimatics model of matter.

Sceptimatic - please reconcile Brownian motion with your model.

Flat Earth Q&A / Sun and Temperature
« on: January 21, 2015, 05:27:27 AM »
In the flat earth model the North has much less surface area than the South. So why, if the sun is travelling in a circle along the lines of the equator, are the temperatures of the North and South roughly equal?

There should be far more sunlight falling over a smaller surface area in the North than the vast expanses of the south, resulting in a large temperature variation.

Thought i's pose this question to the FE's to gauge their honest opinions (hopefully not just abuse).

Firstly, are there any FE's that are genuinely interested in Astronomy and use a telescope?

Secondly, many astronomers (millions across the globe) use a mount called an Equatorial mount which can be aligned parallel with the polar axis, which means the telescope only needs to rotate in one axis to track any object in the sky as they move during the course of the night. The mounts main setting is simply the latitude at which user is located. On a flat earth this set-up simply would not work. How do you account for this?
