Flat Earth Q&A / Franc's 210$ USA Challenge
« on: May 17, 2007, 06:59:04 PM »
I will give a Market Anarchist t-shirt from my store (plus 210$ worth of pledges so far) to any statist who can prove that the United States of America exists as a legitimate entity.

PLEASE NOTE that you do not have to prove that government does not exist. That is not what the Challenge is about. For the sake of the Challenge, you may assume that the government exists (but not that it is legitimate).

I define legitimate as the following statement from the Declaration of Independence:
"Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed"
A legitimate entity of governance, therefore, must derive its powers from the consent of the governed.

I will answer all contenders here, but official entries must be posted on my message board thread, given that a moderator may be appointed to judge the Challenge. Until then I will judge it.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Modal proof that there is no god
« on: May 13, 2007, 01:25:18 PM »
This argument is by John L. Pollock, from section 3 of the book "The Impossibility of God." Anyone who knows modal logic will be able to follow it.

Premise: define god as fulfilling the criteria of perfection.
(1) g=Df (the x such that Px)

(2) N(Eg->Pg)

Premise: Using the Christian Ontological Argument, posit that perfection implies existence, for all x.
(3) N(x)(Px->NEx)

(4) N(Pg->NEg)

(5) N(Eg->NEg)

(6) (g=Df the x such that Px) -> N(Eg->NEg)

(7) ~ [(g=Df the x such that Px) -> Eg]

(8) NEg iif [(g=Df the x such that Px) -> Eg]

(9) ~NEg

(10) N(~Eg)

Flat Earth Q&A / Ask a Market Anarchist
« on: May 10, 2007, 03:12:38 PM »
This is a thread dedicated for newbies to the topic who wish to ask intelligent questions.

First, if you don't know what Market Anarchy is, please read the FAQ on the front page of

Here are some fundamental principles of Market Anarchy:

1. The State is the enemy of society, and is logically and morally unjustifiable.

2. Universality principle: any moral or organizational principle must apply to all people at all time and places, or it is just an opinion or a power grab. (ex. if you claim that murder is evil, then it must be evil for ANYONE to murder, including soldiers, policemen, bureaucrats, etc).

3. The initiation of force is unjustifiable. Any form of organization (even coercive ones) must be founded on free individual decision.

4. The market is a process of voluntary economic interactions within a society. On a market, the individual is in control of his own life, and is free to cooperate with others in order to achieve values. Self-rule is manifested by consumer behaviour.

Flat Earth Q&A / Recruiting planar soldiers

I am currently recruiting planar soldiers for my new planar army.

Join the planar army and spread the word of Pureland.

Fight the academic hordes, have fun, help save the world.

Flat Earth Q&A / Round Earthism is bullshit and here's why
« on: March 27, 2007, 02:34:09 AM »
No one really believes in this Round Earth shit, do they?

If the Earth was round, the so-called Sun (they only believe in one sun, remember?) could only shine on one side at a time (unless they worship some kind of donut-shaped sun). So that means half the Earth would freeze to death!

What total bullshit...

Flat Earth Debate / Round Earthers have the burden of proof.
« on: March 25, 2007, 05:42:17 PM »
The burden of proof applies to anyone who makes a proposition about reality.

Both Flat Earthers and Round Earthers make propositions about reality.

Occam's Razor states that when two models propose to explain the same facts, the model with the most processes or entities is the one we should adopt, until further evidence comes in.

FE and RE propose to explain the same facts, but RE has the added problem of explaining how the Earth got to be the size it is, and how it got flatteny-round. The size, shape and formation of the Earth are all arbitrary factors, which do not jibe with a natural formation.

Therefore, for Round Earthism to be true, Occam's Razor must be false, as well. Therefore Round Earthers have the burden of proof to show that.

Trying to associate our beloved moderator with Hitler. Unbelievable.

The Lounge / Solar Pockets found on Mars?
« on: March 18, 2007, 02:37:00 PM »
Of course, the RE Establishment won't speculate in that direction, but we can...

Scientists studying pictures from Nasa's Odyssey spacecraft have spotted what they think may be seven caves on the surface of Mars.

The candidate caves are on the flanks of the Arsia Mons volcano and are of sufficient depth their floors mostly cannot be seen through the opening.

Details were presented here at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in Houston, Texas.

The Lounge / Hitler on the "Big Lie"
« on: March 18, 2007, 02:06:15 AM »
Hitler explaining the nature and use of the "Big Lie." Mein Kampf, p. 134. Note how well this fits to the RE lie.

"All this was inspired by the principle - which is quite true in itself - that in the big lie there is always a certain force of credibility; because the broad masses of a nation are always more easily corrupted in the deeper strata of their emotional nature than consciously or voluntarily; and thus in the primitive simplicity of their minds they more readily fall victims to the big lie than the small lie, since they themselves often tell small lies in little matters but would be ashamed to resort to large-scale falsehoods. It would never come into their heads to fabricate colossal untruths, and they would not believe that others could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously. Even though the facts which prove this to be so may be brought clearly to their minds, they will still doubt and waver and will continue to think that there may be some other explanation."

Philosophy, Religion & Society / CALLING ALL ATHEISTS AND AGNOSTICS
« on: March 17, 2007, 09:29:12 PM »
If you live in a religious area, you know what it's like to be oppressed. So at least have the decency of not oppressing us. And realize that you are on the wrong side of the tracks as regards to FE v RE.

Flat Earth Q&A / Ask a Plane Earther
« on: March 17, 2007, 06:54:45 PM »
This is a thread where people can ask questions to Plane Earthers- myself, anyway, although others are also welcome. Please no trolling, telling us we're idiots, promotion of your religion, etc. Even though you are intruding on our message board, we are open to open discussion of issues with our lesser brethren.

The Lounge / The moment of realization
« on: March 17, 2007, 12:59:35 AM »
At that moment, when I realized there was NO horizon, when I realized I had been lied to all my life, and that the Earth was in fact flat, I broke down.

I knew what it means to realize that one has been cheated of the truth.

I cried, I sobbed, I screamed, until I finally was drained of energy.

And then I felt revolt within me. Why had no one told me about this?

I had the good fortune of meeting a person who is now one of my best friends, who gave me access to the secret information about the reality of the Infinite Plane... for this I am forever grateful to a bountiful Providence.

Flat Earth Q&A / They know you are here
« on: March 16, 2007, 07:36:27 PM »
They know who you are. Not the conspirators, or anyone from this land, but THEY know. And they will mete out punishment as necessary if you dare to oppose the Truth.

Flat Earth Q&A / Some proofs of FE
« on: March 15, 2007, 11:55:38 PM »
The proofs of FE are innumerable and beyond counting. Amongst them:

* When we look out at sea, the Earth looks flat. There is no so-called "horizon." Ships dissapear uniformly, not bottom to top.
* The gravitational vector never changes orientation, even when you go to "the other side of the planet," proving that we live on a flat surface where gravity is always straight down.
* The UN logo.
* Why should the Earth be finite? Why should it have 924,375,700 km circumference? Why not 924,375,600 km or 924,375,800 km? Stop denying the obvious truth of the Infinite Planar Earth.
* How could explorers report all these things in their secret journals about other lands? With such concordance? Are they ALL lying?

Flat Earth Q&A / What are REers trying to prove?
« on: March 15, 2007, 11:43:54 PM »
Why do REers invade a board dedicated to Flat Earth research? And why are they so hostile, and not considerate at all about their invasion, sometimes outright trolling threads? To me it looks like they really have something important to prove to themselves.

My position is that they must be very shaky in their Round Earthist belief, and seek reassurance by ganging up on easy prey.

Why is your faith so shaky?

The Lounge / Round Earthism IS a religion!
« on: March 15, 2007, 07:02:02 PM »
Religion is based on faith and doctrines, not fact.
Round Earthism is based on faith and doctrines, not fact.

Religion is not natural: you are indoctrinated into it.
Round Earthism is not natural (everyone naturally starts by the obvious realization that the Earth is flat): you are indoctrinated into it.

Religion has churches.
Round Earthism has public schools and the mass media.

Religion has propaganda (missionaries, pamphlets, television shows).
Round Earthism has propaganda- and its pitiful missionaries invade our peaceful board every day.

Flat Earth Q&A / The Earth is infinite!
« on: March 15, 2007, 04:07:02 AM »
Why should the Earth be finite? Why should it have 924,375,700 km circumference? Why not 924,375,600 km or 924,375,800 km? Stop denying the obvious truth of the Infinite Planar Earth.

What you call "Earth" is only our local area, there are many other lands surrounding it, beyond the Ice Wall.

There is PureLand, where humans who are pure enough, through abstaining of drugs (most Round Earthers would be disqualified just by that criterion), drink, gambling or criminal activities, may enter and enjoy a life of felicity.

There is also the land of Structo, where corrupt humans pass on to live a life controlled by a central authority called The Computer. There, no one is free to do anything without approval from the relevant authority. People are conditioned to obey, obey, obey, and forget their own desires, even going so far as to kill their loved ones. It is a living hell filled with paranoia and self-hatred.

Finally, we know about something the Pagans called Summerland, which has a veil that can only be pierced by spirits. Since no one here is a spirit, its composition is as yet unknown.

Flat Earth Q&A / United Nations: hiding the truth in plain sight
« on: March 15, 2007, 12:28:59 AM »
It is often said that planting something in plain sight is the best way to hide it.

Isn't it strange that the United Nations, one of the co-conspirators in the Round Earthist religion, has a FLAT EARTH MAP as its symbol?

Strange or... just hiding the truth in plain sight?

Flat Earth Q&A / Correlation between Round Earthism and bad grammar?
« on: March 15, 2007, 12:18:07 AM »
How come half of the Round Earth fanatics on this board can't spell at a high school level, but virtually all Flat Earthers can write just fine? It doesn't seem like Round Earthism is correlated with basic intelligence or education...

Why are Round Earthers filled with hatred and vitriol, but most Flat Earthers stay very calm? It seems like the Round Earth fanatics have something to prove.

Flat Earth Q&A / Round Earthers, can you explain this?
« on: March 13, 2007, 04:17:50 PM »

Flat Earth General / Challenge to all Round Earthers
« on: March 13, 2007, 02:02:08 AM »
I challenge the believers in the silly religion of Round Earthism...

Please provide one piece of evidence which you contend can only be explained by your "Round Earth" model.

I'm waiting...
