The Lounge / Since educators lie

Does this site support the fact that I've been singed on here the last three hours procrastinating from a school project due tomorrow?

Flat Earth Debate / equivalence of orbit.
« on: March 11, 2007, 01:33:12 PM »
Why cant NASA just put a space station above the earth, and send refueling flights under the guise of 'Maintenance Missions'? For all FE knows of their own theory, that could be what they do.Keep shipping up more fuel to keep it above the earth.

And if the earth is accelerating, and the sun and moon above it, what is stopping acceleration from catching a space station?

Flat Earth Debate / Another solution to gravity?
« on: March 11, 2007, 12:49:41 PM »
What if the earth occupied a similar orbit as it does in RE, with the occupied plane facing towards the sun? The centrifugal force would act as gravity, pressure downwards?

Before you say 'Orbit cant be maintained without your precious gravity!" Then how do the other (spherical) planets have moons that ORBIT around them?

Before you ask about how the sun would illuminate only half the earth at a time, and almost exactly half, at any point in time, thinking that it would illuminate all, I pose the same question back to you, thinking it would only illuminate maybe a fifth.

Flat Earth Debate / Stop Begging the Question
« on: March 11, 2007, 12:42:38 PM »
Simple question. How do you know the conspiracy exists? And don't say 'It must, because that's the only way the earth could possibly be flat!' I would tell you to read the topic title faster than you could link to the FAQ. And in the ever-persistent way of FE denying everything without an enormous amount of proof, if you cant prove the conspiracy, it will have less validity than how FE holds pictures from the ISS.

Flat Earth Q&A / Photons?
« on: February 28, 2007, 07:21:58 PM »
I'm not quite clear on the subject of subatomic particles that relate to types of energy, I have some sources say the comprise the energy, other that say the energy comprises them, a third kinda related to both saying they radiate the energy, a fourth saying they influence/control the energy, and a fifth saying they aren't even possible. What's up here?

I myself tend to go for (using photons as an example) Photons emanating light energy, or, I more lean towards photons actually controlling it. Since I believe the influence theory more, I'll venture out and say cant all this light curving (seeing curved horizons, ships going down hull first, sunsets actually going below horizon lines, etc) be caused by stay photons being present then warping the light's path? Kinda like a gravity slingshot around the moon, a straight path there, but the moon catches the object then bends it's path?

answers to both my theory and the first question welcome.

Flat Earth Q&A / Outside the Wall?
« on: February 28, 2007, 01:17:38 PM »
What if outside the wall, the earth continued? Could it be possible that the ice wall was a naturally formed barrier, much like a plateau or very large mountain range, and there are other civilizations at this moment pondering what is over here? It would explain many UFO sightings, things being flung over the ice wall from the other side. It would also support the tectonics creating the wall theory, as other plates would exist on teh other side.

Or maybe it's just a frozen hellish wasteland. It could end at the wall, or it could stretch in infinite dimensions, and the entire universe is attached to the surface. The bottom of Earth would be the bottom of Existence. I think my point is, why is everyone wondering what's on the other side of the 'Z' dimension, when they could be wondering what's on the other side of 'X' and 'Y'.

REers, please, this is a speculative thread and in no way posing arguments for either side. Just random thinking on the subject.

Flat Earth Q&A / Curvitre Picture
« on: February 15, 2007, 07:13:31 PM »

So, look at this picture. I see CURVATURE. For those who CANT, I've included A FLAT LINE!

You know those motivational posters you see around everywhere? You get to make your own!

Flat Earth Q&A / ICBMs, night skies, and more.
« on: January 20, 2007, 09:23:36 AM »
Everything regarding orbit and the earth to spin doesnt make sense. We know the entire sphere of stars around us, from every angle, we know the sky. If the earth was only flat, wouldnt we only see half of it? How can some things be observed that on the FE model would be below us

And addressing the government involvement of the conspiracy, crewmembers of every single ballistic missile submarine and nuke silo would also need to know the world is flat, and all their officers all the way up the line, because intercontinental missiles have to achieve low ORBIT before dropping to hit their target.. Every single navy and coast guard officer would have to know as well to plot accurate paths. There is many more people involved in this conspiracy in milutary persone alone than you first thought.

Flat Earth Q&A / RE-winning threads
« on: January 18, 2007, 12:45:08 PM »
REers, post here links to threads that FEers have been unable to answer coherently. I DO NOT MEAN THAT ARE STILL IN DEBATE, i mean threads that prove fatal flaws in the FE theory, I.E.,

the flight distances thread
FE sun does not set
FE horizon does not match real world
The threads in this one post
How does the sun work, and why does the current explination fit RE so well?
I'm sure there was an earleir thread of this but I cant find it; sun visible after sunset

This thread phails because they created it in the purpose of it getting mentioned. Sorry dude, DISQUALIFIED
please, take any discussion of these topics to the topics, this thread is for archival purposes.

Flat Earth Q&A / Seismic Waves
« on: January 18, 2007, 12:30:40 PM »
Explain how seismic P waves can be detected in areas opposite of each other after an earthquake, in areas surface waves cannot reach, while S waves go the same direction as P waves but appear everywhere but one 'belt'?

Flat Earth Q&A / Pangaea
« on: January 16, 2007, 08:42:21 PM »
What are the FE's look on Pangaea, and how fossil distribution is so?

no, they did not have technology equivalent to ours, we would have found it.

Flat Earth Q&A / daylight/nightime?
« on: January 16, 2007, 04:17:23 PM »
if FE is correct, then the dawn/dusk line would be rotating around one axis, splitting the disk neatly in two, terminating in a neat even line. Light doesn't behave this way naturally, so explain to me what would cause this?

Flat Earth Q&A / Where's the divide?
« on: January 16, 2007, 04:02:25 PM »
and explain how have people crossed every conceivable boundary?
