Flat Earth Information Repository / Saint Brendan the Navigator
« on: February 10, 2007, 02:28:29 PM »
According to the logbook of his voyage of the early sixth century AD, after passing the great islands in the west Saint Brendan and a crew of Irish monks sailed through a door at the western end of the World and downward to the Hell where they witnessed the tortures of the damned on various levels before returning all the way back to the west coast of Ireland after an eight year voyage.

The 'Navagatio' of Saint Brendan. English translations from the original Latin do exist.

The Navagatio may exist on the web as well, but I have been unable to find it. The wikipedia article which contains a variety of interpretations:
I considre this one less confusing and more informative than the wikipedia article on Brendan:

"St. Brendan, conducted by an angel, descended to the lower world, where he witnessed the torments of the Devil and of the damned, and subsequently he came to, the Fortunate Islands, and finally he visited Paradise. At the end of the nine years he returned to Ireland, and gave an account of his adventures."
This quote is from the following link 'The Discovery of America by the Irish':

Ikon images of Saint Brendan the Navigator:

Tim Severin sailed across the Atlantic in the 1970's in a boat constructed to match the most austere sailing craft of sixth century Ireland.

The Chickens Will Come Home to Roost

As america refuses to understand the message of 11 September 2001, it can expect to be attacked again and again and again in the future

'If you want to avoid September 11s, if you want security in some actual form, then it's almost a biblical framing, you have to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. As long as you're doing what the U.S. is doing in the world, you can anticipate a natural and inevitable response of the sort that occurred on 9/11. If you don't get the message out of 9/11, you're going to have to change, first of all, your perception of the value of those others who are consigned to domains, semantic domains like collateral damage, then you've really got no complaint when the rules you've imposed come back on you.'

Technology, Science & Alt Science / The Gates of the North
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:12:49 PM »
A number of Christian prophecies contain reference to the Gates of Alexandre located in Asia where Alexandre the Great encountered and fought with a race of monsters.  Having grea difficulty with them, he prayed to God and two large mountains from afar began moving towards each other until the race of demonic beasts was enclosed between them.  Alexandre then had his troops construct an exceedingly large rampart wall (including a roof) out of solid brass and iron which pinned the monstrous race within a subterranen prison inside these mountains.  The Gates of Alexandre are evidently the 'Northern Gates,' and their location is most commonly ascribed to the Caucausus mountain range.  At least two prophecies in particular (Saint Methodıus of Patara and Saint Andrew the Fool For Christ) both state that one of the plagues of the Apocalypse is the release of this monstrous race from its prison which will then spread across the Earth and eat the hearts out of men.
An excerpt of the prophecy of Saint Methodıus of Patara:

"Then the "Gates of the North" will be opened and the strength of those nations which Alexander shut up there will go forth. The whole earth will be terrified at the sight of them; men will be afraid and flee in terror to hide themselves in mountains and caves and graves. They will die of fright and very many will be wasted with fear. There will be no one to bury the bodies. The tribes which will go forth from the North will eat the flesh of men and will drink the blood of beasts like water. They will eat unclean serpents, scorpions, and every kind of filthy and abominable beast and reptile which crawls upon the earth. They will consume the dead bodies of beasts of burden and even women's abortions. They will slay the young and take them from their mothers and eat them. They will corrupt the earth and contaminate it. No one will be able to stand against them."
"After a week of years, when they have already captured the city of Jappa, the Lord will send one of the princes of his host and strike them down in a moment. After this the King of the Romans will go down and live in Jerusalem for seven and a half-seven times. When the ten and a half years are completed the Son of Perdition will appear."

'Earth is Square and Heaven is Round'

Confucian and Taoist cosmology as well as traditional Feng Shui all acknowledge that the Earth is flat.  This was true of the majority of people in China and Japan until the mid-seventeenth century when the globularist influence of the antiChristian Jesuits perverted their sciences.  Therefore, Confucian flat Earth science dominated geography in China until the end of the Ming dynasty circa 1644 and in Japan well into the Tokugawa shogunate.

Flat Earth Q&A / Where are the 4 corners of the Earth?
« on: January 27, 2007, 04:51:45 AM »
Quote from: "lindylu56"
Just where are the 4 corners of the Earth?

Quote from: "Nunquam"
According to the FE model, the Earth is shaped like a coin, so there are no corners.

Technically, that is correct with respect to most schools of Flat Earth thought, but the important thing is bear in mind the difference between the Earth from the entire World when speaking of corners.

Strictly speaking, the Earth consists of the three continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe.  These together form a circle.  Hence the T-O World maps, the essential Mappa Mundi.  The flat circular Earth does not include the ocean and islands round about it.

The World which we live in is composed of the Earth and the Seas or Great Ocean around it including the islands therein.  Around this Ocean is an outer Earth or perimeter.  This perimeter is rectangular, and therefore it does indeed have four corners.  These corners are not depicted on globes, and there exist vast areas of largely uncharted Ocean unknown to most men and which globular cosmography was deliberately designed to conceal.

Newfoundland is not one of the corners as the entire northern area of the Atlantic Ocean on modern globes is not anywhere near the western edge of the World.  As South America is one and the same with the ancient island of King Atlas (i.e. Atlantis) renamed after Amerigo Vespuccia about 500 years ago, this island continent lies in the West towards the western edge of the World.  Tierra Del Fuego and "South" Georgia are both closer to this edge than places like Columbia and Venezuela.  The island continent which was renamed "Australia" about two hundred years ago lies towards the East.

As Saint Brendan in the sixth century sailed throught a door at the western extremity of the World, and returned and sailed all the way to Paradise which is in the East before returning to Ireland, his understanding of navigation and World geography is superior to the Muslim influenced cartography of the late Midle Ages which is the basis of modern geography.

George Bernard Shaw

"We are more gullible and superstitious today than we were in the Middle Ages, and an example of modern credulity is the widespread belief that the Earth is round.  The average man can advance not a single reason for thinking that the Earth is round.  He merely swallows this theory because there is something about it that appeals to the twentieth century mentality."

Flat Earth Q&A / Perspective on Maps
« on: January 26, 2007, 10:36:43 AM »
Journal Excerpt by Bartholomew Seeker:

Historically, maps are riddled with deceit, certainly the cartographers who make them are prone to emphasize some things and hide or ignore others. I suppose though it's actually the patrons who determine the truths their maps will tell, and often it is not the truth of the land. Even now with the so-called truth of satellite photography, who really can believe it? The notions of those satellites orbiting the earth snapping pictures is preposterous, and with trick photography techniques who can believe any photograph any more, it is certainly not a truth any more than a surrealist's drawing. Curiously, the lies in maps are perpetuated through years of cartography. I think of the belief in the 16th and 17th century that there was a river and several lakes running through the centre of the continent leading to a large inland body of salt water, the Ocean of the West, that in turn led into the Pacific Ocean. Cartographers and explorers were so desperate to convince those who could finance expeditions that there was indeed a northern passage through North America to reach the Pacific (and India and China) that the maps they made began to hold their own grain of truth, the truth of faith. I also think of the fanciful islands once believed to be in the middle of Lake Superior. Maps were copied and changed by cartographers as new information arrived, and some things continued to appear in maps even long after others had discovered truths, yet the old truths, the lies, remained. The fictitious islands, Isle Phillipeaux and Isle Pontchartrain, first documented by respected mapmaker Jacques-Nicolas Bellin in the early 18th century, ended up appearing on maps for the next century long after other explorers realized they weren't actually there. A lie had been set in motion that wasn't easily dismissed. Maps were used as propaganda for one country against another, where marks of boundaries and regions wildly exaggerated the claims of one country over another. With all these myths within the history of cartography, how can we not still continue to question the processes for making maps and distributing maps. The flat earth knowledge has been around longer than any other, granted, part of it may be taken on faith, but how can people so vehemently disregard it, when they can be so easily misled by false truths, how can they be so convinced that something as far-fetched as a satellite camera can take pictures in outer space and be somehow recorded back on earth. Over the years, hundreds of ships and people have been lost at sea with no evidence of them ever turning up, surely the belief that those ships have somehow found themselves over the edge of the earth has as much credence as any other theories. Why is my conviction about a flat earth so derided, as is my intent to document its existence, yet all those people who speak with conviction about satellites have never been on one or even seen one in real life, yet they take that information on faith. Is it not just another form of propaganda? Once must ask oneself, to whose advantage is those beliefs. The government and the military of course... keep the masses convinced they are being scrutinized at any given moment by cameras in outer space. Make up stories and images about the shape of the world and rocket ships to build the propaganda. Seek to create faith based on some kind of so-called "science" to attempt to give the theories credibility, and in the process deny and refute the knowledge of others. It's a form of mass prejudice and intolerance that is accepted by millions because they have been brainwashed by the rhetoric of space science.

Aethicus Istrius

Aethicus Istrius, apparently the most radical Flat Earth cosmographer in the history of the Christian Church (and possibly ever as he leaves the pagan fables in the dust by comparison although the Book of Enoch would probably outdo him) was of "Russian" extraction.  I had formerly mistakenly assumed (following Raymond Beazeley's never the less informative 'Dawn of Modern Geography') that Aethicus of Istria was from the Istrian peninsula of western Croatia in the northern Adriatic, but Rabbanus Maurus of Mainz (a knowledgeable eighth century Christian Orthodox German advocate of the Flat Earth) indicates that Aethicus Istria was a Scythian who conducted wonderful travels throughout the World during the fourth century AD in the age of Constantine the Great and wrote a Flat Earth Cosmography of the World in Greek which was only later translated into Latin from the Greek (during the seventh century which is when Beazeley mistakenly assumes Aethicus lived).  This means that Aethicus predates the sixth century Egyptian cosmographer Cosmas Indicopleustes.

A congratulations must go to Leo Ferrari of the defunct Flat Earth Society of Canada for basing his cosmological beliefs upon Aethicus Istrius as he does surpass even Cosmas Indicopleustes as the greatest cosmographer in the history of the Christian Church.

The following excerpt is from a 1911 Encyclopedia courtesy of the 'Ancient Library':

A German publisher reprinted the 'Cosmography' of Aethicus Istrius in Latin in the early 1990's, and the work is also contained in Jacque Migne's 480 volume Patrologiae.  The latter vast collection is now available on CD-ROM.

Flat Earth Q&A / Rowbotham Agent of Globularist Conspiracy
« on: January 14, 2007, 04:32:59 PM »

Daniel, owner of this website, is quite ignorant of flat Earth views which predate the second (1873) edition of Samuel Birley Rowbotham's book 'Earth Not a Globe,' and virtually all of his cosmological understanding is derived from:
1) Rowbotham's Book and other materials which Daniel gathered which are also based on Rowbotham
2) material posted by others on this site (he has made posts which adhere to the theory of Earth being pushed upwards.  This also appears in the FAQ, but where is this mentioned by Rowbotham?)
3) typical modern science

In other words, Daniel is devoid of traditional cosmographical knowledge and depends on Rowbotham.

Samuel Rowbotham

Sam Rowbotham's contribution to Flat Earth science lies primarily (but not exclusively) in the fact that he refutes modern myths which have been developed to buttress globularism.

On the other hand, Rowbotham and Daniel are heavily influenced by much of renaissance science - the faulty science which retains many of the worst errors of Ptolemy and heralded the emergence and ascendancy heliocentrism.

Most importantly, renaissance science is anti-Christian.  Rowbotham's science is devoid of the sacred character of ancient Christian cosmology.  Compare Rowbotham with Cosmas Indicopleustes or Aethicus of Istria.  Rowbotham's flat Earth is a weak minded version more convenient for faithless modern men.  Look how many atheists Daniel attracts like flies to a dead rat.

Rowbotham's movement has plausibly been controlled by the enemies of flat Earth cosmography since it began.  The fact that Samuel Rowbotham was a member of the Royal Astronomical Society and discussed the subject of Flat Earth cosmography in lectures with his colleagues in London for many years during the mid-nineteenth century before first going public in the 1850's and then publishing a book in 1865 (different from the 1849 pamphlet) is evidence that Rowbotham was being used by the Royal Astronomical Society to control the Flat Earth movement.  A similar conspiracy existed at that same time by means of the Royal Geographical Society's program to replace catastrophism with uniformitarianism.

Perhaps one reason that more African-Americans did not embrace the movement is that William Carpentar became such a good friend of John Jasper.  Did Carpentar (Rowbotham's right hand man) have an ulterior motive in befriending the most famous African preacher of the nineteenth century?  Other potential sources of Flat Earth influence were ridiculed (such as Lady Blount's followers) in order to minimize their influence upon rising generations.  Even so, none of these were Christian Orthodox.

Rowbotham's movement has not led to a revival of ancient Christian cosmology.  It has in fact attracted the attention of atheists (whether they believe it or not) while Bible fundamentalists distance themselves from it.  The question is were these circumstances intended by the movement's creators?

Note that January (on modern calendars) is colder than December.

The reason is that the longest night of the year occurs on 25 December as per the Julian Calendar (which is 7 January on the Gregorian Calendar).  In other words the Gregorian calendar is scientifically wrong.  The winter solstice is not on 21 December of the Gregorian Calendar but 7 January (i.e.25 December of the geniune Julian Calendar).

The Gregorian Calendar was a sixteenth centiry weapon of the Papist West against the unity of the Orthodox Christian East (which proceeded to develop schisms after adopting it in the early twentieth).  The Gregorian Calendar is a part of the alternative religion (that uses faulty science) which Antichrist has been constructing.  The inventors of heliocentrism (Clavius and Aloyius) were colleagues of the heliocentrists such as Galileo (who was a personal friend of Clavius).  The inventors of the Gregorian Calendar partook in the founding of modern science.  The Gregorian Calendar is a crucial part of the scientific dictatorship.

PROPOSAL:  As several proposals for new calendars even worse than the Gregorian such as an "International Calendar" have been advanced, it is recommended that scientific accuracy would be attained by everyone ditching the Gregorian in favour of the Julian Calendar.
