Technology, Science & Alt Science / Wooly Mammoths
« on: March 12, 2007, 10:20:01 PM »
Supposedly their extinction was caused by the human race.

However I wish to ask if this is entirely true? Would Wooly Mammoths be able to survive in this day and age? Being arctic creatures and all?

Technology, Science & Alt Science / If space was folded...

If you could open a pocket in space and slip in, what would be the effects?

Flat Earth Q&A / Relativity on FE.
« on: February 12, 2007, 05:26:21 AM »
Ok as many know, I'm no genius. I can pass off as one compared to average people but that's not much.

My question concerns Time Dilation on the FE model compared to the RE model.

On the FE model, gravity is applied to all points of the flat earth equally. IF the FE spins as Tom suggestions, Time Dilation would have to apply to various points of the FE model (unless I'm completely fucking up the entire theory).

Essentially, Bill and Joe are twins. Bill ships out to become an Ice Wall Guard while Joe moves to the North Pole to study snow. Both bring with them Atomic Clocks that are completely synched together. After 3 years of service on the Ice Wall, Bill returns to visit Joe.

According to Time Dilation and Relativity, Bill's clock would appear to have somehow sped up during his 3 year service and then seemingly slowed down after returning to Joe correct?

Basically, if the FE model spins, would we not experience vastly differing time changes based on how far from the center we were?

Someone hit me with a bat if this is stupid :p

Technology, Science & Alt Science / Time....

"If you lived in the center of the Earth, what time would it be?"

Pulled this question off of another forum. Figured someone here should know :D

BTW before questions are asked, this would be for an RE model :p

Flat Earth Q&A / Suggested theory in regards to tides.
« on: January 03, 2007, 03:27:31 PM »
Only just now thought this up.

RE model has high-tide on opposite sides of the earth. The explination for this is funny btw. On one side, water is being drawn up by the moon's gravitational pull while at the same time on the other side of the earth, the earth is being drawn AWAY from the moon's gravitational pull.

Now on an FE model, the only explination I have heard in regards to tides is that the plate of the earth tilts slightly, this only explains for 1 side of the world's high tide at a time.

2 things need to be explained.

1) What makes the FE model tilt?

2) What causes tides on both sides of the FE model at the same time.

My suggested theory is that the moon and sun have a gravitational effect on the Earth, the Sun's being slightly stronger to cause the earth to be drawn upwards on one side, while the moon pulls the water up on the other side.

Half assed and not thoroughly thought through, don't get to proud of yourselves if you can find holes in the idea.

Flat Earth Q&A / A possible solution.
« on: December 21, 2006, 10:35:54 AM »
Just throwing this idea out there for you FE'ers to ponder the possibilities. I already have a problem with this theory however I don't doubt a reasonable solution could pop up if someone else's brain juices got flowing on it. Whether this has been pondered before or not, I havn't seen hide nor hair of it.

Ok so here is the idea. You need a solution for the Atmosphere and the source of energy to push the earth up. So what if the atmosphere exists as a bubble that envelopes the earth and sucks it upwards, like a bubble in the ocean.

Flat Earth Q&A / Some more questions.

I have some minor questions and would appreciate it if you answeared them without refering me to the FAQ.

1. How do you explain whether patterns on an FE Model? I am particulerly interested in the jet streams and how they form.

2. How do you explain a well used military tactic that involves hideing BEHIND the horizon?

3. If there is an Ice Wall, why is it we can't see it from a coast line where no continent obscures our vision of it?

4. If the world was flat, what is the Horizon?

5. How deep is the world? Or how thick is the coin the FE model is based on?

6. Whats it like on your planet? Is the sun still blue? (purely a joke)
