Flat Earth Q&A / Radios. How do they work in FE?

Simple as that. Explain how radios work in Flat Earth Theory.
From what I understand of radios is, they will generally travel as they can in a straight line.
So, theoretically, since the earth is flat, supposedly, if one were to put a repeater on the top of Mt. Everest, radios would always be able to hit it, and it would be able to broadcast anywhere in the world.

But... We can't do that.

Why?

Would like to know that, as I don't think financial would really work, personally.
I am quite sure, however, that there are other gains of such.
For example; I could believe that the moon landing was faked. Its incentives make sense to me.
But the idea that both the US and the Soviet space programs worked directly in contrast doesn't make sense to me.
Most of all space programs in that time worked closely with ICB research, it seems unlikely that the two would be able, much less willing. Still, I digress.
I guess the entire Cold War could've been faked. I don't say that sarcastically. Tensions were certainly there, but then, for how long? Could've dropped, and neither party able to stop for political reasons. You wouldn't stay president long if you appeared to back down.
Still, this is all my own speculation. To return to the original question: What are some other likely incentives?
