Technology, Science & Alt Science / Linux
« on: April 18, 2013, 07:16:14 PM »
Linux is complete and udder ass.  As I write this, I'm trying to play a simple online game and my screen is going absolutely f**k all nuts.  I guess I'll have to run a dozen obscure commands in the terminal to get my s**t back up and running... or just go back to using Window where stuff just works.  This "free" stuff just isn't worth my time.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / A Confession
« on: July 17, 2012, 10:35:18 AM »
Warmest Gentlemen of These Fora...
It has burdened this gentleman's heart to bring forth such a confession to these fora.  Your most humble, sirTheMore has been using Ubuntu Linux on his laptop for quite some time now.  He is currently in the process of downloading and installing the PowerPC version of Debian on his old iMac G5.  Apple has decided to stop providing updates to said system, so an alternative is necessary.  I will be using an old version of Windows (XP) in a desktop environment, but only for the purpose of gaming and random strange programs needed from time-to-time.  Bless those of you who have advocated free software for some time now, and apologies for my attitude towards it in the past.
Best wishes,
sirTheMore

Flat Earth Q&A / On the Notion of a Tom Bishop Comment
« on: April 13, 2012, 09:57:55 AM »
There is some slight curvature to the horizon at very high altitudes near the edge of space, but this is because the observer is looking down at a circle. Pictures from the concord and amateur high altitude balloons are not faked.
...

Warmest of sirs,
Would this not disprove the notion of the so-called "infinite plane" theory?
Kind regards,
sirTheMore

To all of the kind gentlemanly folk of these fora,
Recently this gentleman has had the misfortune of playing a free and open source game known as SuperTux2 on his Ubuntu install.  To any folk considering plundering the depths of this abortion of a game I would strongly urge them to reconsider.  SuperTux2 is nothing more than a mere forgery of Super Mario games of yore with a gay looking penguin instead of a homosexual plumber.
Kindly keep your distance from this miserable experience.
Warmest, deepest, and best regards,
sirTheMore

Flat Earth General / On the notion of when Daniel is defeated by Tom
« on: October 19, 2011, 08:36:37 AM »

Warmest of gentlemen,
On the brisk winter's eve when Daniel is finally stripped of his title as Flat Earth Society President and Tom is crowned king, what will Daniel do with his time?  Perhaps when he is submitting his resume to various employers, he will include "Flat Earth Society President"?  I do sincerely hope that this title will not tarnish his reputation amongst the globularists that he will inevitably work for at the local McDonalds.
Peace be with you all,
sirTheMore

Flat Earth General / On the Notion of Dr. Samuel Rowbotham
« on: October 10, 2011, 09:24:03 AM »
Dearest Sirs of these fora:
I do wish to inform you that this kind gentleman has begun an initial reading of Dr. Rowbotham's Earth Not a Globe, or ENAG as it is commonly referred to.  I have thoroughly enjoyed the first few pages of the proof of the earth's flatness and look forward to learning about the conclusions Dr. Rowbotham draws from this fact.  Many of the flat earth theories promoted on this site now make sense thanks to a cursory reading of this seminal work in flat earth literature.  Using the zetetic way I wish to offer my advice for new scholars looking to explore flat earth science: read ENAG!  It worked for this kind gentleman, and it can work for you as well!
Best and warmest,
sirTheMore

Good gentlemen of these fora,
This fine gentleman has found himself with extra funds and has taken the liberty of purchasing a copy of Dr. Robotham's Earth Not a Globe.  I eagerly await its arrival!
Peace be with you all,

The Lounge / On the notion of Sokarul
« on: June 17, 2011, 01:41:06 PM »
Warmest of gentlemen:
I do wish to express my concern of the disappearance of a forum member of yore.  He went by the name of sokarul.  What has become of this delightful chap and his alchemist ways?  I do miss the fellow.  Perhaps someone could shed some light on this topic of great inquiry.
Kindest of regards,
sirTheMore

Most wonderful of gentlemen on this fine forum,
I do wish to inquire as to how we know that this web space www.theflatearthsociety.org can, indeed, be trusted.  How would a fine gentleman such as myself be given complete confidence that the theories presented are not the result of a world wide conspiracy to convince the world that the earth is not a globe?
Most wonderfully yours,
sirTheMore

Arts & Entertainment / On the Notion of Jeepers Creepers Jumbo
« on: April 22, 2011, 12:53:08 PM »
Finest and kindest of gentlemen.  Usually it is not in the nature of this kind and gentle gentleman to comment negatively on the performance of some member of this forum.  However, it has come to my attention that, after having listened to a musical work entitled "Jeepers Creepers Jumbo" that it whole heartedly and completely blows chimp.  Never before have I heard such horrible musical composition and random drumming along with choppy, inconsistent keyboard work.  I would implore the creator of this work to reconsider before exploring any more musical interests.
Warmest regards,
sirTheMore

Technology, Science & Alt Science / SAP
« on: April 15, 2011, 09:50:49 AM »
Hello and warmest regards to all of my fellow associates on this dear website.
I wish to inquire as to whether or not any of you have heard of or have experience with a piece of software known as SAP R/3.  It is a behemoth of a software package requiring entire buildings and millions of dollars to support once configured and installed.  This kind gentleman has reached the point at which he wishes to throw himself in front of a moving train every time he has to write custom code to support such software.
Any feedback is welcome.

Flat Earth Q&A / On the Notion of a John Davis Comment
« on: March 01, 2011, 09:52:16 AM »

Of course the earth appears curved;  we've known that for hundreds of years.  What is your point?

Dearest of gentlemen,
Would this not imply that we are to infer from the zetetic mode of thinking that the earth is indeed round?  Perhaps the kind gentleman Mr. Davis means that the earth is flat and simply has curved edges.  Further clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly,
sirTheMore

The Lounge / Kind Gentlemen, On the Notion of The Downed Website
« on: February 02, 2011, 05:56:53 PM »
Dearest sirs,
I do wish to inquire as to the official details of why this site was downed for a period of time.  Upon login I was greeted with a message which seemed to indicate that our bandwidth usage had peeked for the given time.  Have we indeed been under attack?  Much like the attacks of 8/30 during which cowards struck with ferociousness, attacking our very freedom!  Rest assured my dearest friends that this kind chap will nevar forget.
Best wishes to you and yours,
SirTheMore

Kind gentlemen, I do wish to declare that although these fora are for the sole purpose of education of the flat earth, I would also enjoy expressing my gratitude for the opportunity to post in them.  Thank you all for your time and interest in this subject.

Flat Earth General / Kindly gentlemen -- concerning the zetetic way
« on: January 25, 2011, 09:42:00 AM »
To whom it is concerned:
Like many other colleagues on this site, I too have discovered the hypocrisy of the zetetic way.  If we determine the shape of the earth based on what we see when we look out the window, why not then conclude that the earth is another shape?  Why could we not be living on one face of a cube?  It seems that the zetetic way makes some pretty lofty assumptions which have not been verified by direct observation.  How can one assume that the earth is disk shaped if not one soul has made it to the edge to observe this claim?
Thank you kindly

The Lounge / Hierarchical Constructs
« on: January 10, 2011, 09:47:44 AM »
Good fellows, I have a question for which an answer is appreciated.  I understand it to be the case that a one, Daniel Shenton is the president of the Flat Earth Society.  Is he in fact an active contributer to these fora?  What is the relationship between Dr. Shenton and Mr. John Davis?  I would very much be interested in the hierarchical construction of the administrators of this page.

Thank you kindly good gentlemen.

Flat Earth General / I must say
« on: November 29, 2010, 06:59:36 PM »
As a recent college graduate with post doctoral work in the field of theoretical physics I must say that I find this site laughable at best.  You discredit entire branches of science with this foolishness that the earth is flat and then put it off to some kind of conspiracy nonsense. When asked a serious inquiry, all you do is say read the FAQ or "Lurk MOAR".  If you seriously wish to further your cause, may I suggest that you submit your research to well known scientific institutions so that your material may be peer reviewed?  Why has this not been the case?  If there is indeed a wealth of evidence supporting your claim, it should be of no trouble to convince the rest of the flat world that your theories are true.

Please consider my words carefully as I think that they could be harmful to your case.
