Flat Earth Q&A / Why does the sun vanish and not slowly fade

From my understanding of the FE theory, the sun circles above the earth and the explanation for sunset is that the sun gets too far away for the light too reach you.

If this is the case shouldn't the sun at sunset slowly fade rather than vanish?

If my understanding of FE theory is wrong in this case, what causes the sunset effect?

And you cant use the one where the boat goes along the river as it has been done multiple times and got different results so clearly there is a flaw in that experiment.

I guess what i am asking is for proof that FE theory is correct

Why because we see the earth is flat, does this make it flat?

None of us can actually see the earth, so any visual evidence from our eyes as to seeing the shape of the earth while standing on it is invalid for any argument either way?
