Philosophy, Religion & Society / Barack Obama still isn't a Christian
« on: February 12, 2010, 08:54:19 PM »
Quote from: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-obamas-year-keeping-faith-white-house/story?id=9689272
The first family, once regular churchgoers, have publicly attended services in Washington just three times in the past year, by ABC News' count, even bypassing the pews on Christmas Day.

The Obamas will start looking for a church community in Washington, D.C.

Obama quit Chicago's embattled Trinity United Church of Christ months before taking office in 2008 and has not formally joined a new one in his new hometown.

Déjà vu.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Barack Obama, Fake Christian
« on: October 28, 2008, 11:54:35 PM »
Barack Obama was raised by his guardians to be detached from religion, he only showed interest in Christianity after deciding on a career in politics. He chose to become a member of a Black-Liberation church, his future political focus was in Black districts of Chicago. He left the church when it became a burden on his political ambitions.

Seven reasons he is not a Christian:

Along with our southern neighbors we are having an election this year. As we can have an election at any time it is hardly as important to the country, and due to a law recently passed we will need to have another election in October of next year, for a total of four federal elections in five years. The status quo is not likely to change with this election, with the current predicted outcome being a Conservative minority government.

For those unfamiliar with Canadian politics: a primer.

Rather then voting directly for the favoured party/candidate, we vote for who we want to represent our riding in the House of Commons, if there is no candidate for the preferred party then it is not possible to vote for them. As Canada has multi-party federal elections similar to those of the United Kingdom and Australia, it is not required to have 50% of the total riding's to become the ruling party, only having more seats in the House of Commons then any other party, but a majority vote in the House of Commons is necessary to pass any law or budget.

Sometimes I take the warm Batteries out of my Radio and hold them tightly in my hands… they feel like real humanhands…
and then I close my eyes and imagine a person who lays next to me and holds my hands and… and likes me.
I close my eyes till the batteries are cold and remind my of my loneliness. I am afraid to open my eyes then, because I know nobody is laying next to me

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Athiest World
« on: September 19, 2008, 11:16:48 PM »
This is what it would be like, if the majority of people were athiests.
ATHIEST KID: Mom, I'm going to go fuck a hooker.
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, son.
ATHIEST KID: Afterwards, I'm going to go smoke pot with my friends, since it's "not addictive."
ATHIEST MOM: Okay, come home soon!

The athiest kid leaves the room. The father comes home from work several minutes later.

ATHIEST DAD: Hey!
ATHIEST MOM: Hi, honey! I'm pregnant again. I guess I'll just get another abortion, since "fetuses don't count as human life."
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, get as many abortions as you want!
ATHIEST MOM: Oh, and don't go in the bedroom.
ATHIEST DAD: Why not?
ATHIEST MOM: There are two gay men fucking eachother in there.
ATHIEST DAD: Why are they here?
ATHIEST MOM: I wanted to watch them do it for awhile. They just aren't finished yet.
ATHIEST DAD: Okay, that's fine with me!

Suddenly, their neighbor runs into the house.

ATHIEST NEIGHBOR: Come quick, there's a Christian outside!
ATHIEST MOM: We'll be right there!

The athiest couple quickly put on a pair of black robes and hoods. They then exit the house, and run into the street, where a Christian is nailed to a large, wooden X. He is being burned alive. A crowd of athiests stand around him, all wearing black robes and hoods.

RANDOM ATHIEST: Damn you, Christian! We hate you! We claim to be tolerant of all religions. But we really hate your's! That's because we athiests are hypocritical like that! Die, Christian!

THE END

Scary, isn't it?

Every living thing is "made of water"?  Is that what the quote says?  If so then I'd have to say that the Qur'an got this one wrong.  There is a lot more to living things than just water.  This statement contradicts the notion that 40% of the human body, for example, is not water.

I guess the Qur'an fails after all and this is proof that if God exists, He is not Allah.
I have no experience with arabic but "made of" can mean either "constituted of" or produced by a process. So while people are not entirely water, this statement doesn't say they are.

Georgian forces have been fighting to retake South Ossetia, a separatist region of Georgia. Many South-Ossetians with Russian citizenship have been killed during the fighting. Now both countries are fighting over the territory, and both have accused each other of bombing their respective civilian populations.

Note that one of the reasons for believing in a flat earth is that it looks flat. If I were to look around then I would not believe in air, atmosphere and oxygen, but those things do happen to exist. What about atoms Roundy, do they exist? I can't see them in front of me, so using the basis that you use, they don't exist either. This argument is moot because none of you will ever accept proof of a round earth unless you see for yourself, at which point when you become converted the rest of the believers of a FE will say you were paid off.
This is untrue as we can feel air as we can see the shape of the earth.

Hey Faggots,

My name is Schopenhauer, and I exist because of our interconnected status within this metaphysical construct. All of you are Hypothetical, Matter-recognized, impedances on the eternal nature of mindedness who spend every second of their meaningless, yet quaint existence looking at that which chooses to gaze upon them. You are everything bad in the world, as perceived by a greater majority of the moral sphere. Honestly, have any of you ever even fucking read The World As Will and Representation? I mean, I guess it's fun being completely unaware of the vast cosmic existence that pervades our very souls, deeming our own actions petty and inconsequential, playing to our own insecurities, but you all take this to a whole new level. This is even worse than that douche, Hegel.

Don't be a limited physical construct. Just hit me with your best shot (assuming that it exists within an existential realm of which I myself can perceive, if not interact with). I'm pretty much perfect (suck it, Descartes!). I was captain of the debate team (master-debater class of 1804) , and wrote a book. A fucking book. What books have you written, other than "jacking off to naked drawn Japanese people FOR DUMMIES"? My metaphysical treatises are the foundation for that which influenced the likes of Nietzsche, Wagner, and a whole mess of Germans. I have a hot bitch or ten in my stables at all times ("women are by nature meant to obey" who said that, faggots? Not you, that's fucking who.). You are nothing but an endless interplay of images and desires.

Thanks for listening, as if it mattered.

Pic Related: It's me and my fucking boss sideburns.
