Philosophy, Religion & Society / Freedom of Thought
« on: June 11, 2007, 09:13:26 AM »
Freedom of speach is guaranteed in the Constitution (which, incidentally, by it's very nature, does not guarantee anything, so it really isn't guaranteed), but freedom of thought is not. Say whatever you want as long as it aligns with what the government tells you.

The Lounge / Drugs
« on: May 07, 2007, 06:41:53 AM »
So, guys, everyone's got a wild youth where they used drugs or you're still experiencing that youth.  Post your opinions on drug use and/or some wild 'n' crazy drug stories.

Ha, my only drug stories consist of one time when I took some cough syrup (72 ml) at about 10:30 P.M. and then stayed up most of the night feeling the effects.  It wasn't that great.   ???

Now, my next drug experience was when my friend got a hold of a joint and he, another guy, and I went out to the woods, pitched a tent, got in, zipped it up, and smoked the joint.  Lawl, I told my friend to eat the roach and he did it.  I don't really think I got high much, but I did spend a good while laughing at everything.  After we got done with that, we all headed out to a party where there was supposed to be more weed and more alcohol.  I didn't get drunk, but it was still one the best nights of my life (so far), considering the fact I don't get out much...

« on: April 28, 2007, 01:31:29 PM »
Okay, I'll give a set of pictures that should tell you guys the band I'm thinking of.  The person who correctly guesses it first, gets to pick a band to do this with and so on.

The Lounge / The Church of Doughnnabis
« on: April 26, 2007, 06:16:31 AM »
This is the Church of Doughnnabis.  It has no real point, except to seek enlightenment and have a good time in the process.  The two major sacraments are the eating of doughnuts and the smoking of cannabis. This cannot be reversed to be the smoking of doughnuts and the eating of cannabis (though I realize you can do the latter...). If you light up my doughnuts, I'm going to open up a can of woop-ass on your...ass.

I want to know why it is when I try to get some dudes to flood a forum, it doesn't work, but 'tards always succeed at flooding FES.  I mean, that one Christian forum was prime for the taking.  What happened?  Nothing.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Christianity + Sex = ?

http://blazinggrace.org/forums/

A forum for Christians who believe they are addicted to porn, sex, and/or masturbation.  Seems pretty odd, doesn't it?

Philosophy, Religion & Society / The Death Penalty
« on: March 06, 2007, 11:41:19 AM »
Ok, here we go with the death penalty.

Personally, I do not believe that the death penalty is acceptable at all.  There is no one person or twelve people who have the right to decide if someone needs to die.  Nobody has the right to decide when another person should die.  By killing murderers we are stooping down to their level and we should never do that.

Arts & Entertainment / Comic Books
« on: October 20, 2006, 11:56:22 PM »
Anybody read any comic books?  So far, I have Batman:  Dark Knight Returns and Batman:  Year One.  Both of those, in my opinion, were really good.  I'm thinking about buying some X-Men and Iron Man comics.

Any opinions on the death penalty?  Mine is that prison should be a place where someone is rehabilitated.  So if a person is a serial killer or serial rapist (<-- a thing I find more evil than even murder) is found to be unable to be unable to be rehabilitated (I don't know how one would determine this or if it can even be determined) then it should be acceptable.

Discuss the assassination.

I think Oswald did it.  I pretty much agree with the official story.

The Lounge / Censhorship

(Frank Zappa on Crossfire in the 80's when all the PMRC crap was going on)

Let's discuss censhorship.  Does anyone think that is a good idea to have a 'Parental Advisory' ruining the artwork of albums or even having the explicit words removed from the album altogether?  Any other kinds of censorship?  I know that in some towns certain books have been banned (ex. Harry Potter).  Movies get banned in some countries have having "questionable" material in them.

I agree with Frank Zappa.  If you don't like something, don't listen/watch/read it.

The Lounge / Compulsory Voting
« on: August 11, 2006, 09:34:47 PM »
I want people's opinions on compulsory voting.  I don't think voting should be required by law because the people who don't care aren't going to care if you tell them they have to vote.  If they don't care don't make them vote.  It's their problem if something happens that they don't like.

The Lounge / The American Dream

Where did all this white picket fence crap come from?  The real American Dream is about not having people mess around in your business and being able to do your own thing.
