Flat Earth Debate / Direct TV
« on: April 27, 2007, 09:48:50 AM »
If the Earth is flat, and there are no satellites, then what is my Direct TV dish pointing at?  And why do I only get a signal if it is pointed up into space?

The only connection my dish has to my TV is through the coaxial cable which runs into the receiver.  And no adjustments to the receiver are required to gain or lose the signal, it just sits on top of my TV.  But by moving my dish, I can gain or lose my TV signal.  So, the signal comes from the dish, which points out into space.  What is the origin of this signal?

Flat Earth Q&A / How many?
« on: April 26, 2007, 08:03:09 AM »
So, just how many people are in on the conspiracy to make people think the Earth is round and not flat?  10% of the population?  20%? 50%?

Flat Earth Q&A / Centrifugal force
« on: June 20, 2006, 04:56:46 PM »
To explain the Coriolis force, it is stated that the flat Earth disc spins.  If this is true, all objects would have to experience a centirfugal force outwards toward the ice wall.  If this is true, we would all feel a constant pull "south".  Well, we do not experience this.

So, we are left with two conclusions.  The Earth is round, and the centrifugal force "up" is overpowered by gravity.  Or, the Earth is flat and there exists a mysterious unknown force that counteracts the "south"-ward centrifugal force.

So, which conclusion is the correct one?

Flat Earth Q&A / Existence of the The Wall

Does anyone have any proof that the 150 foot wall of ice actually exists?

And is that 150 feet above sea level?
