Flat Earth Q&A / Flat Earth Theory Discrepancies
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:34:58 AM »
When i joined this website, FE theory seemed much simpler. As far as i could gather, the Rowbotham theory was generally accepted, mixed with the data in the FAQ

Over time though, people have pointed out how stupid some of the beliefs in there are, and now it seems just about every FE'er has their own independent theory and beliefs, which makes it very hard to discuss any points or proposed flaws in FE theory, since there is no single accepted theory,

So i wondered, if i post a couple of questions here, if FE'ers could take a couple of minutes to answer with their beliefs?

1. Is the Earth a disc, or an infinite plane?

2. What size and shape is the sun, and how far above us is it?

3. Same for the moon please.

4. Are there any other celestial objects that are not supported by RE, i.e. submoon, anti-moon, and if so, again, where are they and what size and shape are they?

5. Does the earth, or any of the celestial objects have any sort of gravitational pull?

I've only covered a few main questions, but if anyone else thinks i've missed an important one, please post.

Cheers for any sensible FE replies, i'm asking a serious question, please keep any nonsense (Namely Bishop saying "I believe it's flat because it is") out.

Flat Earth Q&A / Solar Eclipse
« on: November 19, 2009, 12:12:17 AM »
I'm sure this must have been asked before, but searching for "eclipse" returns more threads than i can be bothered to look at.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, partially or fully blocking out the sun.

What's the FE explanation for this? As according to FE the moon produces it's own light, so in this event, the moon should still be light and clearly visible?

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Nick Griffin

Quote from the BBC website:

"Asked about a quote attributed to him in which he equated six million deaths in the Holocaust with the flat earth theory he replied that "European law" stopped him explaining. "

In an article about the leader of the BNP party.

Does anyone have any idea what that's about? I've never heard that one before!

Flat Earth Q&A / Unanswerable Questions
« on: September 11, 2009, 03:31:04 AM »
There appear to be a few unanswerable questions floating about the boards, regarding the possibility of FE.

I just thought i'd create a thread where they could be posted, as each one on their own does a good job of disproving FE, never mind the culmination of them all.

1. Solar eclipses. FE does not have a satisfactory explanation to these, especially as the sun and the moon apparently are at the same height above the earth.

2. Phases of the moon. A very predictable and uniform weather system? I doubt it.

3. Months of constant sunlight in the antarctic. Impossible in FE.

Anyone else got any unanswered questions that disprove FE?

Flat Earth Q&A / The Conspirators
« on: August 18, 2009, 02:24:32 AM »
After they?ve fleeced us all for all this money, by tricking is into believing that they spend billions of dollars on space flight, which is apparently impossible, what do the conspirators spend the money on?

And who are they?

Why don?t we know who they are? Surely they will be among the richest people in the world, with that much money, it?ll surely be hard to hide from the world? Especially if they?re spending it on extravagant things? Private jets, yachts, etc?

Any views?

Flat Earth Q&A / Meteor Shower

What's the FE position on this?

Is it some sort of conspiracy funded light show? Or something else?

An organised race to the South Pole?

Only competed in by Conspirators?

Flat Earth Q&A / Little Question about Radar
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:05:39 AM »
Was looking out the window today and thinking about Radar (can see one from my window)

GPS is all part of the conspiracy in the FE world, but Radar can't be, as each piece of kit operates independantly from any external systems

Long Range Radar?s on Warships can see up to a 250mile radius, depending on model of course. Now suppose an aircraft appears on the radar, the aircraft is travelling, as far as the pilot is aware, due east.

However, according to the FE model, he?ll actually be flying not in a straight line, but in an arc, at a constant radius from the north pole, yes?

So, as he makes his way across the radar screen, he won?t be flying in a straight line, but in an arc, correct?

Meaning, by the time he crosses the radar screen to the other side, instead of flying straight across, he'll actually be approx 15.7 miles north of where the radar operator would be expecting to see him. Might not be a lot, but when the range is only 250miles, that's a pretty big distance.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Flat Earth Q&A / Ice Wall Question
« on: July 03, 2009, 02:50:57 AM »
I have a question about the Ice Wall.

Not one of the usual ?It can?t be that high, ice isn?t that strong? or ?It must be higher or the air would all fall out?

Mine is a much simpler question.

Since apparently no-one outside of the ?conspiracy? has ever seen it and lived to tell the tale, how do we know it?s 150 feet high.

Where did this arbitrary height come from. Did someone just make it up? Is there some sort of scientific assumption being made here? Has someone claimed to have seen it from a distance and calculated it?

I did search for ?Ice wall height? but didn?t find anything that satisfied my query
