Flat Earth Debate / Lunar phsases.
« on: August 18, 2022, 03:37:38 AM »
How do Lunar phases work on a flat earth?

Different observers should see different parts of the moon being lit up.

While making the moon a disk would mean that observers not directly below it would observe it as being elliptical in shape.

Finally, Getting the observed phases wouldn't really work on a flat earth.
If the Earths and moon were a similar heights, then when they were close together you'd observe more then a fraction being lit up.

Flat Earth Debate / Lunar eclipses.

How do FE'ers explain Lunar eclipses?
Especially the blood moon, how can those be explained by a FE model.
THe blood moon clearly shows that it can't be due to an object passing between the earth and the moon.

Flat Earth Debate / Star trails don't match a flat earth,

Star trails don't match a flat earth would predict.

Here is an example photo.

While this is what they would look like on flat earth.

Flat Earth Debate / Chelyabinsk and Tunguska Events

How do flat Earthers explain the Chelyabinsk and Tunguska Events?

They make perfect sense on a round earth, but none on a flat earth.

Flat Earth Debate / The moon disproves FE
« on: April 14, 2022, 03:22:36 AM »
The Moon disproves flat earth.
1- a flat moon (a disk) will look oval unless it is directly overhead.

2- a spherical moon will show a different side depending on viewer location, not the same side rotated.

3- a spherical moon will show a different phase depending on viewer location.

Flat Earth Q&A / Predictive power of the Flat earth model.
« on: April 04, 2022, 12:54:51 AM »
Does the Flat earth mode actually have ANY preidcitve power what so ever?

For exmapl is it possible to derive a formula that can if given the lattidue and longitude of an observer and the SUn's zenith. Give you the the number of, degrees above the horizon the sun will appear at B, as well as it's bearing?

Suggestions & Concerns / Time zone option.
« on: March 28, 2022, 02:44:15 AM »
I would be great if we had the option to set the time zones.
Having the forum display the date and time of posts in the time zone the user resides in would be more convenient.

Flat Earth Debate / A very old picture of the earth.

This picture was taken in 1968. Back then, CGI didn't really exist.

That is spot the station.
If you plug in your location, it'll tell you exactly when and where the ISS will appear.

Flat Earth Debate / Cyclones prove the earth is a sphere.
« on: January 08, 2022, 05:44:23 AM »
Every cyclone in the noth spins anti-clockwise, every clcyoone in the south spins clockwise, cyclones never cross the equator. This clearly is only possible on a rotating sphere.

Flat Earth Debate / My impossible challenge for FE'ers
« on: January 07, 2022, 07:14:23 AM »
Here's I have a challenge that is impossible for any flat earthers to solve impossible challenge for fe, no flat earther I have challenged (and I have challenged many) has been able to answer this.
You have 2 locations, A and B, x miles apart. The sun is directly above A. Provide an accurate formula that is constitent with observed reality for calculating how many degrees above the horizon the sun will appear at B.

If flat earth was true, doing this would be easy.
And yet no Flat earther has ever been able to do so.
To me, this is yet more proof that the earth is a sphere.
