Certainly not a surprise. But still, it's refreshing to see muricans becoming self aware!

In my democratically elected, official position as Flat Earth Inspector General of High Fashion Crime  I feel compelled to take responsibility and launch this poll. It has been shown in the past that moderators ban certain users, especially disputeone, purely for fun. In order to stop such behaviour in the FES, I propose that we send all moderators who have banned disputeone in the past 'on holiday' for a month. Thus, voting yes will lead to a one month ban for the mods in question.

Since many countries (including mine) have already started vaccinating the risk groups, the date where everyone else may get vaccinated is coming in the forseeable future.

Will you guys get vaccinated? Why yes, why no?

I personally would love to get the vaccine asap!

Also, what do you guys think about people not wanting the vaccine, then requiring intensive care at the hospital? I personally think if you don't want the vaccine you should write something like 'If I get severely sick from COVID-19 I do not want to be put on a ventilator and do not want to be in the ICU no matter how sick I am' in your patient decree.

Hello my beloved mods & admins


As we all know, if somebody gets banned for the same reason multiple times, the lenght of the ban increases exponentially. The idea behind that is understandable. The issue that I have recently witnessed is that now ban times are getting ridiculously high (check recent bans). Considering traffic for the forum is on a all time low, makes it even worse. Also it can lead to users permanently leaving the forum, because after a ban lasting quite long you have no idea whats going on in the forum and need lots of time to read up on threads, which is too much fo4 some people.

Thus I suggest that right now and after a fixed timeframe (e.g. all 6 months or so), previous bams shall be 'forgotten' and thus reset the ban times to the minimum again.

Unfortunately, a mobbing culture in the FES can be observed recently:

I have been muted (unable to post, send pms etc) without receiving a pm stating the reason for it and without anybody telling me for how long I will be muted. Thus I have used the only still working feature to contact moderation: the report function.

But Boydster then wrote this post:

Clearly asking me a question- keep in mind, I had no way of answering except by using the report function. Boydster knew this very well.
I answered to his question in the only way I was able to (=using report function), resulting in this:

I was being muted simply for bullying and baiting reasons in the first place. Mods/admins were muting me to bait me into a) creating alts or b) abusing the report function, so that they'll then have a reason to ban me.

So a friend girl of mine basically forced me to install that tinder thing.
Simultaneously, another friend (female) installed it aswell.

We both did some random swiping, and we both had basically no infos and semi-decent pics on our profiles.
She got instantely like 10+ matches and 5 guys writing her. I got like 3 matches, noone writing first.

Like, wtf is this shit? But I guess this is what happens when you consider that males are just way hornier on average compared to women.

The BOTD started out as a pure, democratic, anti-fascist and anti-racist group of friends. Unfortunately, over time the group became corrupted: Members wishing death upon other members that were in serious conditions and eventually passed away (wise), other members became brainless spamtrolls (shifter), some show racist/facist tendencies (disputeone) and so on.

It thus want to distance myself from the BOTD (brotherhood of the dumb) and am therefore leaving the group!

I wish the remaining members of the group all the best, may they come to peace with themselfes and do what is right!

Dear members of the FES

This is a very emotional moment for me.
I had a very long private discussion about the earth's shape with the space cow girl.
She told me to 'just look outside your window, and tell me if it looks flat or like a globe'.
I tried to resist, but then I succumbed to the urge. I looked outside. And guess what - it all looked flat. No curve visible!
After that I meditated for hours, ate an avocado and some lentils, went for a run and sorted my thoughts. I then came to the conclusion that the only explanation for the above is that the earth is, in fact, flat and not a globe!

I am now, officially, a flat earther!

I am supposed to make a shitload of graphs and stuff with R. I have never used it. Wasted like 4h now already, have absolutely no idea how that piece of crap works. I can manage to import my data into RStudio so it shows my data in a table on the top left. But I havent yet figured out how to do anything with that.
Where do I start? I tried some youtube stuff but nothing helped.

I put a serious tag in the title because scg locked me into angry ranting and thus I can't post it at another place, but this is a very serious topic. Of course I can't force you to accept it but I kindly ask you to.


Question to be discussed is in the titel:
Why is it legal and even considered okay to watch videos of some crimes (including war footage) but not others?

Examples:
It is illegal/considered immoral to watch a video where a person gets raped, especially if the person is underage.

It is usually considered legal/ok to watch violent crime videos, including murderer. Just a few minutes ago, I found a video in a comment on reddit (frontpage post) that shows someone getting murdered (hit by a car). The comment had over 3000 upvotes.(news story about the incident)

That kinda made me question the ethic behind all of this.


Oh, and before anyone comes and missinterprets this on purpose: I am not saying rape videos etc. should be legal and considered okay to watch, I'm questioning why videos of people dying/getting murdered or other crimes are legal and considered no big deal.

I suggest adding a third option 'other' to make sure nobody gets discriminated against and everybody feels accepted. This is already standard on every other site I know and should have been implented on the fes a long time ago.

As we all know, sometimes people randomly get banned by certain mods. But I'm not here to complain about that. My issue is that if one suddenly stops writing and I then wonder what happened - did the corone get him? Is the guy ok? etc.

I suggest that there should be a public list with all the people that are banned, includinge the remaining lenght of the ban as well as the reason for the ban (which must include proof, thus a link to the post that lead to the ban.

- News were only reporting about the corone, because nothing else was going on due to the lockdown.
- People got bored reading only about the corone - likely numbers of visitor and thus ad revenue declined.
- The protests give both left and right and center media very nice story with LOTS of clicks. People love being outrage, be it for one or the other side.
- New media (youtube etc) are getting more and more important while old school news are getting less important.
- News reported get attacked on a regular basis, giving their media more attention

Claim to be debunked
The death toll from coronavirus may be almost 60 per cent higher than reported in official counts, according to an FT analysis of overall fatalities during the pandemic in 14 countries.

How to debunk
Idea: If there is an underreporting, then there should be more deaths in 2020 than in 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016 AFTER I subtracted the reported corone deaths.
Step 1: Add together all deaths in week 1-17 in years 2016-2020 (mortality data from 24 countries)
Step 2: Calculated how many corone deaths those 24 countries have reported
Step 3: Subtract the corone deaths from the reported deaths in 2020
Step 4: Compare the number for 2020 to the numbers in 2016-2019 to see if there are still excess deaths
Step 5: If there is in fact an underreporting, then the deaths in 2020 (reported - corone deaths) should still be quite a bit higher than the death rates in 2016-2019.

Result
2020: 1085243 (all deaths) - 116470 (corone deaths) = 968773 deaths
2019: 984589 (all deaths)
2018: 1026022 (all deaths)
2017: 992529 (all deaths)
2016: 933109 (all deaths)

This means, that without the corone, in 2019 there were 15816 deaths more, in 2018 there were 57249 deaths more, in 2017 23756 deaths more and 2016 was the only year with less deaths (35664).

Conclusion
There is a death excess in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic. After substracting the corona deaths, the mortality in 2020 is below the 2016-2019 average. This could be purely random or maybe due to fewer deaths because of the corona lockdowns (less accident, less influenza deaths etc). Using their own method, there is no evidence for corona-death-underreporting.

Therefore, my claim that ft.com is to be considered 'unscientific trash' is now a proven statement.
