« on: February 11, 2011, 02:47:14 PM »

The Lounge / What have I missed?
« on: February 06, 2011, 04:27:10 PM »
Other than the odd attack, and Gayer having her baby (I have her on Facebook), what have I missed in my absence?

For instance, other than the obvious, who has changed nicknames? Who are the new mods? What's new in everyone's lives?

Fill me in! Alright, poor choice of words, but you know what I mean.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / I request a Google Wave invite
« on: November 17, 2009, 09:20:31 AM »
As postulated by the topic, I was wondering if someone within the forum population has Google Wave or knows someone that does so as to grant me an invite. I have been following it somewhat close since the first tidbits started to appear, even though I'm not really a fan of Google; quite eager to play with it.

So, what say ye?

Anyone read it yet? Thoughts?

The Lounge / Project: FES Gathering
« on: August 11, 2009, 07:39:48 PM »
This project is fairly simple. For all those that are interested in meeting up with other FES members, simply post your location here so that it can be plotted on a map. Once we get a good number of responses, we will be able to discern a "central" location for those involved to travel to for the meeting.

Once we have a location decided, travel costs for everyone will be able to be calculated, and an arbitrary and future date will be picked so as to allow everyone to save up the necessary money to make the trek, and so that people can book off time from work or school if they are so inclined.

I'll start: Ontario, Canada.

Plot so far:

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Eugenics

Yay, or nay?

Personally, it's hard to argue against the science (given the proof on display), but social customs seemed to shift radically throughout the 20th century.

Wrote a letter to the editor, and mine actually got thrown in. Granted, mine was much longer, they did a good job of condensing it.

Discount Anime DVD?

I know many of you aren't into the whole anime thing, but for any that are and know of the site, does anyone know what's up with it? Been trying their site for the two weeks and it's still down.

While at the Canadian War Museum, they have this cool board with magnets of a large assortment of words. While others made sentences like "men should torture children" and the like, I opted for the following:

The Lounge / Where should we go?
« on: October 03, 2008, 07:54:35 AM »
Got a vacation coming up with the girlfriend, and it's our one year anniversary as well. We've been trying to decide on something to do, and specifically somewhere to go.

Anyone have any places they've been that are good, or have any suggestions at all? Keep in mind, we live in Canada and we'll have about $800 each to spend for flight, hotel, food.

The Lounge / Book Ideas
« on: September 05, 2008, 03:29:54 PM »
Upon my latest visit to Chapters, I discovered an interesting leaflet regarding publishing packages available. I write from time to time, both fiction and non-fiction and given the newly discovered packages, I'm looking to write something extensive to utilize their services.

I was hoping that some people here would have some interesting and serious ideas for both fictional and non-fictional books.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Adultery
« on: August 27, 2008, 08:04:23 AM »
Starting off on the many debate topics, I figured we could start with adultery/cheating on a partner.

So, what are everyone's thoughts on it? Immoral? Justifiable? What about the other person involved (mainly if they're single)?

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Topics of discussion
« on: August 23, 2008, 08:37:05 AM »
I've concocted a list of topics I'd like to write arguments about. They will be presented on my personal site until I get around to inserting them into my book.

I'm hoping to begin making threads for each topic in a hope to establish debates in order to garner more arguments and perspectives on the issues to help cover all bases, and lead to the best argument.

The list so far, is as follows:

Capital Punishment
Gay Marriage

What others should I be looking into?
