Flat Earth Debate / Shadow Object Revisited
« on: October 01, 2007, 09:57:58 PM »
I formulated a (possible?) reason to explain why the shadow object is difficult to observe.  As we know well enough, mass bends light.  By this knowledge, we should be able to observe stars since there projected light bends around the object, much like the stars observed during the 1919 Eddington experiment.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Democracy: The Corrupton of Authority
« on: September 27, 2007, 11:13:58 AM »
We have all seen in our capitalistic society, where 20% of the population controls 80% of the wealth, an unchecked and organized social class.  This class represents us in Congress, influence the media and the entertainment world, direct our production and businesses, and portray themselves as our children's role models.  These aspects upon first consideration appear unquestionably benign; nothing but an inspiration and a keystone to the foundation of our social structure.  A complete consideration  of their actions unveils their modus operandi; the motivating factor that drives capitalism – greed.

Time and time again we witness the insider trade deals of Enron. We become outraged by the political conspiring amongst businesses and interest groups ranging from covert funding of weapons trafficking, to business-specific subsidies, to non-competitive contracts of Haliburton and the like.  The list continues and often without punishment nor public attention that’s in part to the media.

How does the populace subdue this internal corruption of our State when the very people who represent us in this indifferent two-party system control our laws – our property – our lives!?  Consensus would say: we shall represent ourselves.  How is that any effective in deterring the corruption when the corrupting deterrent we call avarice has dominated our government prior?  It is simply not, but there is a solution in which we can still be represented.  Such representation, however, cannot pander to our interests, since our interests are deeply imbedded in maintaining and improving our wealth.  Our representation must embody our well-being, our State; an authoritative body independent from all interests except for the populace in general, independent from income, and must comprise flexibility in the event of a changing society.

Please feel free to express and criticize.  For you are the Populace and the State.

Welkommen, I am Herr Fascisti but my fellow volk call me The Fascist.  I am here to introduce to you forcefully the importance of your complete loyalty to the State and obliterate any Marxists who wish to corrupt the Fatherland.

As you can tell from my post count I am new on this board and wish to participate in your debate regarding the Flat Earth Theory.

Sorry, I had to kill my bro.  It was not for his inane rants about Global Warming (blame Geoguy for the continued provocation), but because he was hoarding my bandwidth.  I apologize for death and I am sure you will all miss him dearly.

Flat Earth Debate / Flat Pizza Model
« on: June 15, 2007, 06:07:34 AM »
It has been discussed that an object rotating about an axis will eventually approach a flattened state, similar to spinning a pizza pie.  According to the RE model, a pizza pie would flatten due to the force of gravity and the the force of the hand that reacts opposite to the gravitational force.  In regards to the FE model, which forces would cause a RE model to gradually approach a FE state?  The only force I can assume based on the FE model is the force causing UA, but I could not find any reference to a reactionary force or another force to act opposite to the UA force.  Any clarification on this issue would help me dearly. Thank you.

Flat Earth Debate / New Solar Distance
« on: March 16, 2007, 06:49:06 PM »
Using Eratosthenes' results in measuring the angle of the sun's elevation (7.2 degrees),  I have determined the sun's elevation to be 3,958 miles or approximately 4,000 miles.  Proof is shown below:

The angle of the sun's elevation between Syene and Alexandria during Alexandrian noon of the summer solstice is 7.2 degrees.  The distance between Syene and Alexandria is approximately 500 miles.  If I divide the 500-mile distance by the tangent of 7.2 degrees, the resulting elevation becomes 3,958 miles.

Thus I have corrected the 3,000 mile calculation of Rowbotham and his contemporaries.

Flat Earth Debate / The tides

What is the cause of the tides according to the FE theory?  And, please, explain in detail.

EDIT: Currently reading Rowbotham's views for the tidal cause.

EDIT: Finished reading it, to which Rowbotham is inconclusive in determining the cause.

Can any FEer explain to me why Rowbotham does not detail how refraction may explain his experiments' results or explain the discrepancies in the RE theory?
