Technology, Science & Alt Science / Re-incarnation

I realize that re-incarnation isn't part of my religion, but it's something that has caught my attention of lately, and just got me thinking.  I still remain skeptical about this topic, and as with all things, it could be as possible as anything.

I was just wondering what everyone's views are on re-incarnation.  There's one thing that's been bothering me of late.  How do we know we didn't exist previously? Like, say 100 years ago, I was a rail-road worker, who died and then got re-born. Or 200 years ago I was a pirate.  I think that if re-incarnation exists, it's working very well, in the way that we can't remember our previous lives.

No. Believing in him will get you closer to hell, because God will think that you're a non-believer in him.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / How do we know how old the Earth is?

In front of me, I have some numbers that could answer your question.  They are from the "Science Encyclopedia", a very basic book, which explains things easily for anyone to understand, until they are ready to move to the next level.   Now, the book says that the Universe began at 0 seconds, as a very small ball which grew in size and temperature. Now, based on what I read, it is a very long time, because 3 000 000 years after the Universe formed, galaxies started forming and the Earth formed around 4.6 billion years ago.  For more on this topic, I would suggest you read Ray Kurzweil's The Age of Spiritual Machines: When Computers Exceed Human Intelligence, as it gives a brief explanation about this in the beginning, and at various points in the book.

Technology, Science & Alt Science / Devil Worship?

There are plenty of things wrong with Devil Worship.  The devil is the anti-christ, and worshipping him would be like having death on your doorstep and welcoming into your house. Now I know that's a bad analogy, but I can't think of any good ones now.  All I know, from what I've been taught, is that the Devil represents all things that are against good.
