Flat Earth Debate / Re: Flight from Sydney to Buenos Aires, II
« on: September 03, 2008, 07:07:55 PM »
I remember a few months ago when I first joined I mentioned this. Sadly, I don't think FErs will reply, being they have no other sensible responses to this (other than 'read the FAQ'  ;))

Compasses do work in aircraft.

Lookie what I found. I don't see an ice wall, do you? From this thread. Also, as I research further, I found this incident. Well, according to FE theory, this would be impossible, because the 'ice wall' is down there. I'm guessing you are going to claim it was shot down? Another military cover-up?

Noob, that picture is just of wing and ice. So what?

Noob, that plane crash helps prove FE because it was shot down for getting too far into the ice Wall

Simple Experiments that prove Earth is Flat:

If you really want proof, you are welcome to do the following:

Step 1. Look outside your window

      Step 2. Read the FAQ

Step 3. Read the book "Earth Not a Globe" by Dr. Samuel Birley Rowbotham

Step 4. Read the book "One hundred proofs the Earth is not a Globe" by William Carpenter

Step 5. Read the back-issues of Flat Earth News Quarterly

Step 6. Read the book "Flatland" by Edwin A. Abbott

Step 7. Read The book "The terrestrial plane" by Frederick H. Cook

Step 8. Read the book "Universal gravitation a universal fake" by Charles S. DeFord

Step 9. Read the book "Does the earth rotate?" by William Edgell

Step 10. Read the book "Earth not a globe: scientifically, geometrically, philosophically demonstrated" by Henry J. Goudey

Step 11. Read the book "The book of light" by Gilbert Johnson

Step 12. Read the book "Unpopular truth against popular error in reference to the shape of the earth." by Charles W. Morse

Step 13. Read the book "A challenge from the earth-flattening society" by Richard A. Proctor

Step 14. Read the book "The Earth: A Plane" by John E. Quinlan

Step 15. Read the book "He knew earth is round, but his proof fell flat" by Robert J Schadewald

Step 16. Read the book "The view from the edge; on the necessity of the flat earth" by John P. Sisk

Step 17. Read the book "Is the earth a whirling globe?" by Carl Albert Smith

Step 18. Read the book "Answers to the common 'proofs' that the earth is a globe" by Chester M. Shippey

Step 19. Read the book "In defense of the square peg." by Irving Wallace

Step 20. Read the book "The shape of the earth; some proofs for the spherical shape of the earth given in astronomical and geographical text-books examined, and shown to be unsound" by Arthur V. White

Step 21. Read the book "The Flat Earth and her moulder" by Ossipoff H. Woofson

Step 22. Come to the conclusion of a Flat Earth

Wow. This is totally beyond crazy, I have to admit. Aristotle, are you still out there? You and your 54 concentric crystal domes of stars? Oh, yes. Yes indeed. Just trolling the FE forum.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Simple experiment
« on: September 03, 2008, 02:00:14 PM »
Sorry I forgot to mention this first time. The laser and reflector need to be at the same height above sea level. I dont know how surveying equipment works but it does work.

Not that well. To pull this off you'd have to measure your height above sea level down to the millimeter level, otherwise the margin of error would be too great even with a long distance. Not to mention the problem of making sure your laser is level, a few millionths of a degree off and your results are useless.

Thank you.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: No motive, no case
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:59:21 PM »
I don't get how people can call it a Governmental Conspiracy, when the Round Earth Theory has existed long before the space race, the Americas or anything of this magnitude could happen.

Money has existed for a long time as well, noob.
Then how do you propose that people would earn money by convincing others that Earth is spherical?

Conspiracy noob, see FAQ.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Meteorites and Asteroids
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:41:30 PM »
Meteorites are pieces of rock from space that have fallen to the surface of the Earth. Asteroids are pieces of rock in space orbiting about the north celestial pole.

Do you not mean some kind of celestial gear?

Quote
Someone get a world map out and start putting pushpins into it.
This would prove nothing, since we know that a real map of the earth doesn't exist.

Nice job, noob, you are correct.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: What do FErs think of Google Earth?
« on: September 03, 2008, 01:34:14 PM »
Cartographers. They do all kinds of maps. SO why not a map of the earth?
Because they are all in on the conspiracy, those that aren't are assassinated.

Pathetic.
Interesting question, do any ancient maps suggest that the earth is flat. Ancient as in the time of the people mapping the Americas after they were found.

Uh. so the stars rotate around an infinite number of point, so there are an infinite number of celestial gears? I imagine we are going  back to the times of Aristotle such, who believed in who believed in crystal spheres holding up the stars

Problem is, FE'ers don't accept gravity.

Real problem is, neither does RE.
