Flat Earth Q&A / Round earth Gravity vs. Flat earth "Gravity"
« on: January 07, 2006, 04:24:59 PM »
If the only thing that affected its height was it's own power, under round earth phys the earth would spin off underneath leaving it behind in space. Which isn't the case.

The helicopter thing could be explained with flat earth phys, not that I believe in flat earth
If the helicopter has the power to lift up from the rising earth why should the earth rush up at them? if the helicopters blades where to suddenly tear off then the earth would rush up at it, although the gradual drop suggests something pulling.

Flat Earth Q&A / Proof that the Earth is indeed flat
« on: January 06, 2006, 04:45:33 PM »
So... The earth is flat, all the planets in our solar system are going up with us, either their flat too or there sperhical.

So either all those other planets have all there shit falling off them.
Or flat earthers believe in two seperate forms of physics.
Lil farfetched

Maybe this a website that just baits people who like to argue.

If I was gonna make something like this up i'd put the sun atleast 50million miles away

I tried humour, that didn't work, so there was a serious question so answer it.

It is a nice picture and I assume what we are looking at is atmospheric distortion.

Cameras don't show refractal illusions, ever taken a picture of a huge harvest moons that fill up the sky?

If the earth is flat, we stay on it because its travelling upwards, now if this is the case, you must believe that other planets can be spherical and have gravity and physics much like round earth scientist believe in, AND if they stay in our view they must be travelling upwards too and if only disc planets existed the storms of jupiter would would be left behind as it moved up itself.
And the fire of the sun would leave a tail like comets do pretty much killing us

Or, other planets and the sun are a total illusion...

You know, all of this has made me realise that the motion of how the sun appears to move across the sky (smoothly, from East to West) is really not in harmony with the idea of a flat Earth. The sun gradually comes over the horizon bit by bit: if it did this over the edge of a flat Earth, then it really would have to hit the entire disk within only a few minutes, an hour at the most. Instead, it takes an entire day (24 hours, not just one) for the sun to hit the entire "disk". How can this be possible?

I'm not sure exactly how the flatearther sun moves but as I understand it to be 11 miles away from the earth, my first complaint is that if it has an arc the edge of the world with the big ICE walls would be hotter than the equator as the arc is at its furthest above the equator. and secondly which relates to mundis point, if the sun is indeed 11 miles above the earth, to achieve 12 hours of sunlight it would be moving incredibley slow, yet jets travelling pretty damn fast can just about keep up with the shadow of the sun setting.
