Well I don't know what their official name is, they're red skinned potatoes. They're delicious, but now I've had them every day for about a week and I need some OTHER WAYS OF EATING THEM. I've got boiled with green beans, baked, cut up and baked with onions and peppers, mashed, and microwaved so far.
Do you mean Red Pontiac potatoes?

My wife says those are red taters, and she said don't try to make them something they are not.

I have been trying to convert Googleotomy for ever.  He thinks it is fun to be on the winning side.

Well.....The awful truth is that the earth is a globe .
I have been to sea and observed the curvature of the earth for just one example.......out of many.
FE's seem to be "at sea" ....LOL

When was that one time that I proved that I have been asea way more than you?  I don't think it was that long ago.

What was your MOS?  Was it not cook or flag bearer or something like that?

This thread seams to be a perfect example of argumentum ad populum.

Who are you, and why should people care about your uneducated opinions?  Is this your blog or something?

I'm suitably impressed.

That sounds like what your mom said last night.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Hate Speech Against Religion
« on: May 09, 2019, 02:20:27 AM »
I've noticed on many forums, especially this one, there are an incredibly vast amount of people that take it upon themselves to spit hateful comments against religions they know nothing about. Where the hell do people get off mocking others just because they hold a text in high regard or believe in God? Just because someone's an atheist they think it's there role in life to piss others off? I don't judge other for being atheists. I don't judge Islam even though they think all Christians need to die. (And don't tell me bullshit otherwise, my dad owns a Quran.)

So I'd like to know why people find it necessary to spout blasphemy and hate.

I think this is because our admins are atheist / satanist or NAZI.

I am only atheist, not the other two.

LOL,  are you offering a master class in this topic?

LOL, scientists said it, not me.  But, you can strawman all you want to.

15
BTW, you might try using a spell (and grammar) checker.

There is nothing wrong with his spelling or grammar.  Everyone knows what wise is saying.  You seem to want to attack the man, rather than the debate.

Yo mamma

Scientists for decades have told us that we are entering an ice-age.
That's simply not true.  It's just a lazy meme trotted out by people who have already decided global warming is a hoax.

Quote
Now, they say they can't tell if the "globe" is warming or freezing.
Pro-tip: they can tell, and it's warming.

Quote
Yea, scientists are always right.
Strawman, nobody is claiming this.

The claim is that a doctor will know more about medicine than a non-doctor.  Are you really disputing this?

Don't make yourself look dumb.

I am not anti-semite, nor anti-muslim, nor anti-any religion.  Why are you doing this?

Who was that Jewish guy you always harassed with fake Talmud quotes from right wing sources approving of child rape?

Yaakov?  Are you serious?  He was a good friend of mine.  Yes, I knew how to rub his yamaka, and he knew how to rub mine.

20
I am not anti-semite, nor anti-muslim, nor anti-any religion.  Why are you doing this?

21
Is this another ballot stuffing, for media, election?

22
Because you are purposely trying to offend a religion?  I am not a muslim.  I am an atheist.  However, what you are posting is meant for no other reason than to offend people's religious beliefs.  I am very tempted to move this to quarantine.

23
One parent thinks it is the best to keep their child away from everyone so they are never exposed to any germs.  Another parent thinks it is best to expose their child to as many germs as possible in order to build their immune systems.  Who is right, and should a doctor or the state or the parent be making that choice?

24
I, for one, am very offended, but don't blame me when a bomb or something blows up in front of your house.

25
Also, the point is not whether the parent is right or not.  The parent has a right to make decisions for the child.

26
Doctors are not infallible.  People in authority are found to be incorrect all the time.  You arguing that a parent does not know what is better for their child than a doctor is not only a fallacy, but it is absolutely a stupid claim.
How is the parent better at knowing which vaccines are good for their child and which aren't than the doctor? Sure, doctors are not infallible. But they're a LOT less fallible than random layperson parents, that's the whole point.

I know that you are not dumb, so I will assume you are either drunk or hung over.

Scientists for decades have told us that we are entering an ice-age.  Then, they back-tracked and said the "globe" is warming.  Now, they say they can't tell if the "globe" is warming or freezing.

Yea, scientists are always right.

27
You live in a glass house, and I live in an aluminum enclosure.

Are you allowed to get a second opinion in OZ?  I thought they tell you you are going to die, and then you do it.

28
My wife is a nurse, and I would trust that she knows what to do if someone around her has a heart attack, stroke, or seizure.  She can also install an electrical receptacle, and I have seen her do it.  That does not mean that I trust that she knows which wire to put in the silver, gold or green terminal, or what CU Only means as she is tightening those screws.

29
Don't get me wrong.  I am all for vaccinations.  I have probably had every vaccination three times over, and I vaccinated my kids and dogs as well.  I personally don't believe that vaccines cause autism.  What I am against is people saying that doctors know better than everyone else.

That is just being a good parent, you should never take big daddy's word for anything.
Why are you more qualified to do that than your doctor?

First, my child is MY responsibility for their safety and well being.
You didn't answer, why are you more qualified than the doctor to know what is safe and what isn't?

Do you think the medical industry is any better than any other industry? Unfortunately the majority are idiots just like every other industry, and the minority that are not carry the weight of the system and competence on their shoulders.
Industries don't do bad stuff because they're idiots, they do it because it helps them make profit. Fortunately, there are all sorts of trials that have to be done before a vaccine is approved and all sorts of regulations, so vaccines are not in any way dangerous now. If you're still not fully trusting, ask a doctor, or two, or three, or whatever. You don't have a medical background and you won't really understand what the stuff you find on the Internet is, or if it's trustworthy.

Quote
Also, an intelligent person in my field, in programing, robotics, bio engineering and hundreds of other fields would be great doctors...it's just they learn different skills instead.
Oooh I get it, you think you're gonna get better than the doctors at their job. Don't do that, it's dumb.

Doctors are not infallible.  People in authority are found to be incorrect all the time.  You arguing that a parent does not know what is better for their child than a doctor is not only a fallacy, but it is absolutely a stupid claim.
