Flat Earth Q&A / THE BET TO SETTLE THIS ARGUMENT

Erasmus - nothing you post in any link here is going to prove squat to anyone. No link, no picture, nothing, stop wasting your time. Your argumentive style is based on fallacies, is annoying and almost invariably fails to address the point asked of you. Are you a politician? My guess would be a 30-40 something academic with no sex life. Get in your blimp and come back with some photos, footage, DNA blueprints for penguins, whatever you think it will take, then, maybe then we might take you a tad more seriously.
I live in Australia and our government is most defiantely NOT capable of sustaining a conspiracy the scale of which you propose. Our government is composed entirely of a bunch of bumbling fools. Idiots. Plebs. Mensch. Detritus. There should be a lot more proof than "mathamatical" ideas that may or may not substantiate your claims but mean nothing to the rest of us. BRING US THE PROOF!

My point dog platter is that they were acting like...penguins, normal animals only concerned about quaffing fish, rooting and rearing their young, if you think a penguin would taste good, that proves your brains are in your anal region.

Oh no, no flat-earther can answer this now can they.....

Dionysios: Big bloody Dragons. Mate. If the Earth is flat there aint much room down there for them and how would a being made of flesh not cook from having lava in its gullet - you are a person of very limited intelligence aren't you.....

Exactly, this would seem a perfect cause "worth dying for" yet no Flat Earther is game to take the challenge, it would upset their little (flat) world too much if they found out the world is round (sphere). Maybe once the flat earth exponent was in a plane they would realize there isn't enough material on Earth to manufacture a screen projector big enough to give the "illusion" of the curved horizon, you should try flying sometime....

Everyone - bollocks!! I saw a penguin doco the other night and big seals were coming onto the land and pillaging the penguins, which exploded blood and gizzards everywhere, firmly debunking the robotic/genetically engineered penguin argument. 3D computer graphics can't fake those effects like blood seeping into ice and flesh tearing.

What force do Flat Earthers propose propels Earth "upward", would'nt the immense weight of the ice-cliffs at the edge of the Earth disc prevent Earth from travelling upward?

has anyone been to the "edge"/ice cliffs/ring and returned to your knowledge? If so was it in recent times, ie any photos, video (not that that constitutes proof either way)

No. If you examine the diagrams carefully, you'll discover that the edges of the square Earth do not have ice rings on them.

I'm refering to the Flat Earth in the above quote, you ask why no-one has noticed the edges of the square earth so I'm asking why no-one has noticed/photographed the ice ring at the edge of the flat earth.

As far as my theory goes, the Earth could possibly be square or rectangle, but we view it as round. Same goes for any other object in the universe.

hey hey! Not attacking, just curious, no-one has really provided me with concrete irrefutable "in the flesh" proof either way, I'm genuinely interested in why the flat earth vs round earth debate still continues to this day...

I actually meant the ice "ring" around the flat earth and ice on top of mountains, polar caps etc, it would be plain foolish to think a massive chunk of ice is suspended above us (we can't see it can we?).

A round earth has would have vastly more mass, thus the heat of the lava/core doesn't reach the ice at as hot a temperature, a flat earth would conduct the heat through its thinner "plane" and melt the ice....

Hang on... if the Flat earth is rising, and hot air rises, how is it we aren't living trapped in a pocket of superheated air? The earth would have to be rising pretty fast, does that mean the whole solar system is rising too?

Erasmus: you've been through this a few times havn't you :-)

Unimportent wrote: 100% correct. Using basic trig you would easily see the sun is 3000 miles above the surface of the flat earth.

and using this same logic it is easy to see that the increase in global temperatures since the 1800s is caused by the decline in the numbers of pirates.

seriously who cares if some people think the earth is flat? as long as the people building satellites, people who are navigating oceans, pilots, etc all know its round who cares if some people think its flat?

I care because the Flat Earthers will miscalculate and sent burning satellite shrapnel hurling down in my back yard...

Flat Earth Q&A / Please Explain: Lava
« on: June 20, 2006, 09:41:00 PM »
Where underground? I thought the Earth was a flat disc, to speak of an "underground" implies the Earth is cylindrical, think about it!

If convection current theory isn't going to be derided here, then how come there isn't a constant upwelling of lava at the "centre" of the Earth pushing the continents to the outer edge of Earth? In fact how can there be lava in a flat Earth yet ice sitting on top of it? I though hot air rises? It would melt the ice wouldn't it?

Hi guys, could you please tell ignorant little old me how the flat Earth produces Lava, Earthquakes, Tektonics and Continental Drift? Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
