Flat Earth Q&A / Re: earthquakes

so what does the magma float on?  :o

The solid rock underneath it.
Roundy, the Zetetic Method frowns upon making up FE theory as you go along.  If you don't know something, it's okay to either say "I don't know because I'm an idiot" or to make up a silly, inane answer.

In this case, however, neither is necessary because I have already provided the correct answer.

Floodian, please keep the spam in the lower forums or else face my wrath as a mod.
Grow up and start learning the definitions of terms like "spam" before you throw them around.

I accused you of not knowing the answer and instead making one up.  My post, in fact, was entirely correct, including both in my allegation that you made your answer up as well as in its articulation of Zetetic Method.  Show me anywhere in actual FE theory that states that the magma layer floats upon another rock layer, and I'll gladly back off.

Or you can just keep huffing and puffing about your fearsome moderator powers.

You're still here reyo? Wow, you're retardation knows no bounds.

Reyo speaks the truth though. All that guy had to was say "its a conspiracy, its bendy light, its "insert BS here" and wouldn't even keep his mind open.

But guess what; if someone here offers definitive proof/evidence of a flat earth, I will personally give them $1.000, either in person or PayPal. How's that for an offer? And I am WAY more open-minded than any FER'er, so it shouldn't be to hard.
NASA. Conspiracy.  Bendy light.

I'll take a cashier's check, thanks.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Personal Experience
« on: May 20, 2009, 10:22:13 AM »
Hello, my name is Matthew. My son has been talking about this site for some time now. He claims that there are people who believe that the Earth is flat even though there are countless arguments against these claims. Now I have read the 'FAQ' and I have read previous posts; The FE believers are really stubborn so I don't want to be start a argument. Now lets get to my little point. I have been in the United States air force for 20 years, I have flown 80,000 feet ABS, I have seen with my own two eye's the curvature of the Earth's atmosphere, this without a doubt is evidence that you cannot refute. The Earth is round, there is just nothing else to say. Now please do not say 'read the FAQ,' I want REAL answers. I don't want to start a huge brawl on this site I just want to see if a human being can still if the Earth with evidence you cant turn your back on.
I don't think it is appropriate that you allow your son on this site. He is probably around ten judging from the number of years you were in the airforce, 14 at most. This website consists mainly of adults.
Mathematics and Common Sense: clearly your strong suit.  Dumbass.

Anyway, to the OP, you're an idiot.  The fact that your post contains minor grammatical errors, and the fact that we can find numerous other grounds upon which to attack you other than the merits of your post, is conclusive proof that RE theory is bullshit and FE theory rulz.

Although it may appear that they were simply evading having to respond to your point, I posit that this is precisely what my FE brethren were getting at in their various responses to you above.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Are the Sun and the Moon flat?
« on: May 08, 2009, 02:59:40 PM »
If not why not?  I think anyone who thinks the earth is flat has a screw loose.

Flat earthers believe the sun and moon are the same. The sun is just the moon but viewed from an opposite quandry. If the sun could be reinverted to reflect the uppermost dynamic it would be observable. However this is totally impossible as it would defy Einsteins Theory of General Relativity.

Einstein's Theory of General Relativity is a conspiracy perpetrated by NASA.
Posting inane things without evidence makes you look like a fool.
It's not inane.  There is not a single shred of proof that Einstein's Theory of General Relativity is not a conspiracy perpetrated by NASA.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Greetings Im A Noob Plz Help
« on: May 08, 2009, 02:56:41 PM »
No, I'm suggesting it's impossible to walk in one direction, over long distances, in a straight line, without some kind of guide letting you know you're keeping straight.  The latitude lines are curved like this in RE as well, btw.  In neither case does going east or west take you in a straight line... except right on the equator in RE because it's a great circle, but so far it has yet to be proven that that path is a straight line, it's just an assumption that it is based on the assumption that the Earth is round.
You're talking out of your ass.  Latitude lines are not curved in RET except that, from the perspective of a person standing on one, the latitude line curves down and away from the person to follow the curvature of the Earth.  The lines do not curve from left to right.

And it has been proven many times, over and over and over again.  What you MEANT to say is that the results of these "proven" tests are part of an ongoing conspiracy to cover up the truth.

If you stand on a large circle and walk in a straight line, you will eventually leave the circle.
"Heading off in one direction" and "walking in a straight line" are two different things.  The layout of FE is such that the north pole is in the center and the Ice Wall (Antarctica in RE) surrounds the outside.  Therefore traveling east or west would not take you in a straight line but in a circle around the north pole.
That is a semantics argument that completely ignores the point.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Lunar Eclipse
« on: May 08, 2009, 01:33:34 PM »
It is impossible. This thread is ridiculous. No sane person viewing a lunar eclipse could conclude that the object moving in front of the sun is not the moon.
Hey genius, a lunar eclipse is when the Earth's shadow moves in front of the moon.

Why not take a few ships and head off in one direction and see where it takes you

Because this doesn't prove anything. The Earth is flat but circular, so if you go in one direction you will still eventually end up where you started.
Hmmm. The earth is flat but circular?
You cannot be serious. I thought you were a bunch of academics?
LOL!!!! No you didn't, did you?  These guys?

Quote
English.  Do you speak it?  Yes, flat and circular.  Like a coin or manhole cover.  A short cylinder.  You savvy?
He's not saying he didn't understand you.  He's saying the obvious.  If you stand on a large circle and walk in a straight line, you will eventually leave the circle.  Unless one of your legs is shorter than the other or you're a dumbass.

I know you guys make shit up as you go along, but you should at least give it 10 seconds of thought before posting it.  Otherwise your trolling isn't fun for anybody else.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: How Did You Become A Flat Earth Believer?

I became a believer when NASA agents murdered my parents, who were firm believers in RET.  I still shudder whenever I see an orange jumpsuit.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: High altitude aerial photographs.
« on: May 07, 2009, 08:48:09 AM »
It wouldn't take more than a few hundred people to hide the truth. And most believe this to be a conspiracy to keep power and wealth than another more sinister motive. Keep it simple: if people continue to think the world is round, NASA and defense agencies can profit wildly from their programs, it confuses developing nations and keeps the balance of power within the technologically developed nations.

Knowledge is power. Power is a thing the conspirators want to keep.
How does a belief that the Earth is round inhibit a developing nation in any way?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Proof doesn't exist
« on: May 07, 2009, 06:52:05 AM »
OP, you are wrong.  Scientific method, observation, and plain old common sense have already proven RE theory.  FE theory is based on an unfounded, unproven, baseless assumption that some bizarre, vast conspiracy exists to "cover up" the truth.

Your analogy with releasing the ball 1000 times is completely off-base.  That merely shows that one cannot predict what will happen with complete certainty.  In this case, we are talking about the way things currently ARE.

They have a very distinct pattern, just like in RET.
Fantastic!!! If it's very distinct, then a knowledgeable fellow like yourself should have no problem describing that pattern.  I'm all ears.

This was linked to from the FAQ.

Please show me a peer-reviewed experiment of such a thing. Also, show why this wouldn't work on a FE.
Wait, are you serious -- you're asking for scientific proof of something, you hypocrite?

Why don't you just read the FAQ?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: The Conspiracy
« on: May 06, 2009, 05:03:11 PM »
Well, since NASA cannot achieve orbit has never sent craft further than the edge of the atmosphere

How do you know all this Tom?

In the mid to late 19th century, Samuel Birly Rowbotham demonstrated beyond all doubt that the Earth is flat.  Anyone that claims otherwise is either a member of a very powerful "round earth" conspiracy, or is being duped by agents of that conspiracy.  Duh.
That is a non-sequitur and, in any event, a circular argument.  It does not follow to say "the Earth is flat, therefore NASA cannot achieve orbit, therefore the earth is flat."

Even assuming that Rowbotham's theory is true, you do not know how far NASA has sent spacecraft because of it.  He asked how you know how far NASA has sent spacecraft -- not what is possible under your theory.

A real space program would cost billions. Faking one would be a lot less. Big Number-Little Number=Difference between the two numbers. Seriously, this is 1st grade stuff.
Which explains perfectly, obviously, why scientific proof of the RET has been well-established and irrefuted by scientific evidence using reliable methods since the 1500s.

Seriously, this is 1st grade stuff.

Uh... question:

If the object that gets in between the Sun and the Moon to cause a lunar eclipse is "invisible," and nobody has managed to pinpoint exactly what or where it is, how is it that we are able to predict lunar eclipses with perfect accuracy?

Please explain how to predict a lunar eclipse without the use of any RE theory.
