alright. so i hear all this wierd stuff, sounds like nonsense and gobbledeegook to me, about the big bang. frankly it makes NO sense. this is yet another reason to be an ESA! to all of those who think of a "big bang" let me ask you just one thing. oh and why did scientists choose such a stupid name for it?!

question:

if the big bang rlly happened...then why are planets round?!

so basically this big freaking hunk of rock or stone or some kind of crap is floatin in space by itself and it blows up! if u put dynamite into a bowling ball there arent going to b any round pieces. so how did this round earth come about? oh your going to say stuff like "time happened...and the winds... and there was all this change..." but u dont know! r u going to pull a God of the gaps theory on us? frankly, as an ESA, i think that the concept ofthe big bang is ridiculous. its disprovement also makes the idea of the earth being round silly. so a perfectly round earth blew off this hunk of rock in space?

The term The Big Bang was coined by Fred Hoyle who was making fun of the theory. He believed in the steady state theory and was trying to discredit it by calling it The Big Bang.

how about you own eyes every second of every day confirming that the thing your walking on is in fact flat?

My eyes tell me it's not flat. If it were flat I'd be able to see the coast of France over the English Channel from my house. And I can't. Therefore, for whatever reason, it doesn't look flat. Next.
Air isn't clear.

looks clear to me. Can anyone here see air?

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Terminator of the Moon
« on: March 20, 2010, 02:00:14 PM »
We all know that the moon is round. It is the earth that is flat.

The problem is that a round Moon blows a hole in flat earth theory because it means the Moon has to be very far away in order to explain how the Moon's face looks the same when viewed simultaneously from different locations on Earth. This then destroys the flat earth theories on how the Moon appears to rise and set, because if it were so far away it would be visible all the time. When you bring in the phases and light from the Sun falling on the Moon, the whole flat earth Sun-Moon system starts to crumble.
So you see, the shape of the Moon is fairly fundamental to FET.

1, The ice wall guards have seen the icewall

2, The space station does not exist.

3, If you travel east, you follow a circle and end up roughly where you started. The oceans look like very large expanses of water.

4,  Is there any proof of what?

5, It is unlikely the plane would do this, it would run out of fuel.

Yes it does I have seen it.

Right now FE'ers represent no threat to the ruling elite. We are too small a group with little to no power and little to no influence. As long as we are regarded as a bunch of lunatics by the mainstream the elite won't care. In fact, they probably are laughing their asses off at how weak we are despite how right we are.

Now, if we were to grow in size and power; if the day came when we are debating this subject on Larry King and This Week and Good Morning America -- yes, then we would really have to watch our backs. I suggest that all interviews with the mainstream press should be conducting from undisclosed, remote locations via satellite.

UMMMM SATELLITES DONT EXIST REMEMBER!!!

Flat Earth General / Re: satellites
« on: December 17, 2009, 05:41:36 PM »
Like I said earlier in this thread with no response. I know an amateur astronomer that has taken pictures of the ISS. He has nothing to do with NASA. So I know that it is there like NASA says it is. We know that it cannot be a projection because it disapears behind clouds, this would require many projectors, and something in the sky for the image to be seen on. I know people who have watched the ISS pass over the sky while one was in KY and the other was in VA. They were on the phone with each other. So we know it must be extremely high up to be seen at these two locations at the same time. We know that because of the design it cannot move at the high speeds required to move across the sky as fast as it does without breaking apart unless it was in space.

Based on all of this information I think we can only come to one conclusion. Not that the Earth is round, but that the ISS does exist as NASA says it does. It is not a hoax. This puts a major hole the conspiracy idea.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: I tried the step off your chair experiment
« on: December 11, 2009, 06:31:31 PM »
Now try each stage of the experiment again, but this time carry an accelerometer with you. Only the results you record while in an inertial frame of reference - that is to say, while the accelerometer reads zero - are valid representations of motion.

I would be glad to, but it appears that they cost more than $2,000. If I can get 100 people to throw in $20 each I will pay the difference and try it out. I will then post my results. Anybody want to throw in? (OH yeah if you find one cheaper we can buy that one)

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: I tried the step off your chair experiment
« on: December 11, 2009, 06:26:20 PM »
From the sound of your experiment, whether or not you moved towards the ground or the ground moved towards you is not able to be determined.

Kinda sucks as a proof then huh?

Im not using it as proof, but Tom does. I guess that I worded it wrong. I should have said from what I observed It appears more likely that I was moving towards the ground and that the ground is not moving towards me.

12
Flat Earth Q&A / Re: I tried the step off your chair experiment
« on: December 11, 2009, 06:16:45 PM »
When I did this it was clear that is was I that was moving towards the ground and not the ground towards me.
After doing this I then decided that the Earth must not be accelerating up as this is not what I observed.
Well I appreciate your ambition to experiment but "just deciding" the Earth is not accelerating really isn't any evidence. From the sound of your experiment, whether or not you moved towards the ground or the ground moved towards you is not able to be determined.

I agree, but isnt this how Tom comes to his conclusions? He says when he steps off his chair the ground appears to move up to him so it must be. When he looks out the window it appears the Earth is Flat so it must be.

13
Flat Earth Q&A / I tried the step off your chair experiment
« on: December 11, 2009, 05:53:55 PM »
So I tried Toms experiment and I stepped off my chair while watching the ground. When I did this it did appear that the ground may be moving towards me. However it was not conclusive. I still felt like I was moving towards the ground a little. If I had done only this one step I would lean towards the Earth accelerating towards me, but I decided to try a couple of different approaches. I then decided to look up when I stepped off the chair. When I did this it was clear that is was I that was moving towards the ground and not the ground towards me.

I still didn?t feel comfortable with my results because the first experiment had me leaning towards the ground moving. So I threw a ball in the air as I watched it come towards me it was very clear that the ball was moving and towards me, and that I was not moving towards it.

After doing this I then decided that the Earth must not be accelerating up as this is not what I observed.

For further evidence waht about Australia? I was just thinking about this the other day. why don't people in Australia just go flying off the earth if it is so round?!
Gravity?
I always asked how gravity is and peopel would just say that it is! They couldnt show me the evidence for it. Maybe the earth is round. But just thinking about the Australia example I dont see any evidence of it.

Go outside, pick up a rock in your hand, stand up, raise your hand into the air and let go of the rock.
Did it accelerate upwards? Nope.
Did it levitate? Nope.
Did it fall down and hit the ground? Yes.

Now, why? Magic? Illusion? Maybe the rock is part of the conspiracy?

Besides...who told you the fairytale that your ass is sitting on the topside of the flat- or round earth?

Well obviously im on the topside of the earth. If I was on the bottom side I would fall off!

Unless if you were on the bottom-side and it was accelerating downward.
Why would you fall off if there was no gravity????????????   If you were on the bottom side and gravity didnt exist what would pull you down? If you were on the bottom side wouldnt UA accelerate you at the same rate as the earth?

Flat Earth General / Re: the ISS seen from Earth
« on: December 02, 2009, 01:30:48 PM »
The ISS existing in some form is not proof of the shape of the earth, but proof of the ISS existing in some form.

Which I'm not even debating.

Flat-earthers maintain that sustained space flight is impossible. They are pretty adamant about that. Everything we have seen from NASA, including the ISS, has to be a hoax. So clearly, the existence of the ISS orbiting Earth would certainly poke some gigantic holes in their entire worldview. So what do we have here?

Since nobody is bothering to volunteer their ideas, I'll spell out the possibilities. It must either be:

- faked / CGI
-A hologram being reflected by NASA into the sky from below.
-the ISS is not in space, but has some mysterious ability to fly through the air.
-real

Now, I could ask you to buy a nice telescope that is able to see at similar ranges and test it out for yourself, but I have the feeling that a flat-earther would only use such a telescope to look at the horizon. *shrugs*

It'll be A, B, &C, I guarantee it.

Well it cannot be a projector. If it was the iss would not disappear behind clouds. It would also have to be projected onto something in the sky.

If anyone wants something to be done, whatever it might be, they need to pay.

If you want me to do work, you must pay for it.

Once you wire transfer the savings in your bank account to Daniel we can speak further about creating measuring voyages, performing experiments, or drawing maps, or whatever.

Until then, kindly shut your trap.

No money, no service!

You should work for NASA

1. Have you actually been to the ice wall or are you just relying on Bavarian propaganda?
2. Why would anyone want to go to a place where there are no natural resources? Only the government goes there.
3. It's too bad they brainwashed your friend

1. So you are implying that every documentary, every TV film crew and nature cameraman, David Attenborough et al, are all in on a conspiracy to depict Antarctica as having clear weather when in fact it's a constant blizzard? Yes, I guess you are. What have the Bavarians got to do with it?
2. Does not address why nobody has ever reached 91oS. I guess "People can't be bothered" is a compelling reason for you. Duh. How do you know that only "the government" goes there? You don't know that, you just wish it were true.
3. Again, see the original post and actually read it this time. If you want to suggest that every single person who goes to Antarctica is brainwashed then you are going to need to supply some evidence of this (no circular logic please - saying "they think it's different from how it really is therefore they must be brainwashed" does not count.)
1. The Bavarian Globe Makers were the original masterminds of the RE conspiracy. TV crews want to look tough and hip when they go to antarctica, but aren't nearly as tough as they claim to be. Instead they just hang out with conspiracy workers who kindly lead them around in circles and show them penguins, all without ever showing them the ice wall.
2. No one tries to go there anymore and the few that tried either died or got lost.
3. I'm sorry the conspiracy brainwashed your friend. You should link him to this site, maybe you can save him.
They walking in an arc, then came back delirious and claimed to have crossed the south pole.So if they all died or got lost how would anyone know it was there. I have yet to see one shred of evidence that there is an ice wall. Please let me know if you have any.

And you know this how?

The sky mirror was Robosteve's idea. It was part of his elite trolling armoury that I believe also included fish powered boats.

Since he no longer comes here we can wave sky mirrors good day and good bye.

Just because Robosteve is not around makes sky mirrors no longer exsist?

« on: November 05, 2009, 11:11:14 AM »
There was alot of newb BS in there that I skipped over so if someone already covered this I apologize.   The article stated that the first paying customers would be in 2012.  It said nothing of being built or actually housing anyone at that time.  Currently only the US has a vehicle large enough to put pieces of that into orbit so unless they are going to lease out trips from NASA (who we all know is in the tank for the conspiracy) then I dont even see this getting past the drawing board.  So now it sounds like private companies may be trying to cash in on the "promise" of orbital flights.

Look at the links I provided. Comercial space flight has already been done. Case closed.

We can't mine or drill resources in the Antarctic.

ah sorry who told you that? Antarctica is rich is minerals and oil. we can easily mine there but there is an international treaty preventing anyone form doing so.
Like I said, We can't mine or drill resources in the Antarctic.

we can, we just dont. if your saying we dont because we cant then your wrong. if your saying that we dont because we want to save the penguins then your right.
We can't because there are treaties in place stopping us.

It has nothing to do with "saving penguins."

well yes it does. directly. the treaties are there to protect the ecosystems of the animals and quote "the conservation and preservation of Antarctica's living resources" among many other things.

That is what the worlds govenmentswant you to think.
