Yeah. I can't imagine them fitting any decent sort of graphics chip on such a tiny motherboard, but if the Pi can't play back HD content, why does it have a HDMI port on it?

I'll probably get one regardless, just to mess around with it.

As luck would have it, I just finished my Network+ and Security+ exams. Here are the best online resources I found, in order:
Good bullet-point summaries of the main tested areas, plus good-quality practice tests/questions. Very useful.

A+ Essentials
A+ Practical
Some summaries of material covered but more geared towards practice tests. 250 decent-quality questions for each exam, broken down into quizzes 25 questions long.

Lots of user-submitted quizzes. Lacking on quality for obvious reasons, but still generally worth doing.

Offers a free limited trial (~30 questions) of high-quality questions, but it does require you to register and download a client application.

Official COMPTIA Sample Questions
Asks for name and email address but it does not check whether either are valid, so works. 25-30 good quality sample questions for either test.

When I took the Network+ it wasn't difficult, but it was very broad. It's designed to test on a rather broad area of knowledge, but not to any appreciable depth. Just the basics. I would recommend getting a study guide if you don't have any relevant work or academic experience though, see if you can find one on Kijiji or Craigslist.

I didn't take the A+ so I can't comment on it, but I can't imagine it being too hard.

I'm quite curious as to whether or not this would be viable as a small content-streaming HTPC. The HDMI output and ethernet interface (Model B) seems to lend itself towards that kind of thing.

A mere 15 minutes after the federal government took down, Anonymous, the hacktivist group, took down the DOJ website, Universal Music, RIAA, MPAA, and they're still going, now hearing reports is down now.

You probably forgot to flush your DNS cache.
^^ This. I would try
Code: [Select]
ipconfig /flushdnsif you haven't already.

Speaking of criminal negligence in parenting, the Oregon State Legislature recently removed the special legal protections that had applied to parents who chose to use faith healing on their children instead of proven medicine.

Am I missing something? That article you linked had nothing to do about British childcare workers.

I much prefer e pluribus unum. It is so much more uniting than 'In God We Trust.'

Still, it's better than 'Dieu et mon droit' which is the Monarch claiming that they rule by the right of God.

I like Ireland's 'F? Mh?id Bheith Saor' or 'sworn to be free'
The way current US politics is going, "L'Etat C'est Moi" might be most appropriate.

Needs moar Sandy Bridge.

Replace the i3 processor with a i5-2500k for $100 more, and you get a quad-core processor that can be easily overclocked to a stable 4.4 GHz on stock cooling alone.

You all give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside.

I only berate those that say living debt free is impossible....which is almost everyone who posted in this thread.  Odd.
IMO, the only major hard-to-avoid debt I could see would be a mortgage, but I guess you could rent.

Get rid of it.
What about the people that have paid into it their entire lives?

Obama lies, causing debt to increase.

Bush lies, causes a decade-long war which:
Murders 100,000 innocent people
Kills 4,500 US soldiers and wounds 36,000 more
Allows for the systematic torture of captured enemy combatants in gross violation of the Geneva convention and basic human rights
Drains ~$2,000,000,000,000 (2 Trillion) from an already failing economy
Degrades the US international image even further

Guess which one you post a thread about.

Actually, they'd go after daniel for having the image on his site.
They might, if it was on Daniel's site (it's not).

Also, I wouldn't search for information on xenu anymore. It is copyrighted by the church. Even viewing a copy of it is enough to bring about litigation.

Oh noes I be sued now

The US aren't a shadowy organisation. In fact you can go there and get a Mickey Mouse hat.
And HIMEOBS tourist memorabilia can be bough in Western Kyrgyzstan. What's your point?

Yes. Just because they're a shadowy organisation doesn't mean they aren't going to write their name on the sides of their planes.

The US do.

So long as you guise keep it below the 39th parallel, sure.

I can assure you that this thread is indeed serious business and not at all Random Musings material.

Your uncle sent you a classified report about former KGB spooks running a badass mercenary ring in Europe, making political assassinations and brainwashing the public with mass media.  Your response is to post it on the Internet.
Recently declassified.

I can only assume that your uncle redacted the part of the report where Jack Bauer, Sam Fisher, and James Bond were contracted to take down these commie bastards.
Well, I didn't want to jump the shark completely.
