Flat Earth Debate / A plane flying north should go sideways?
« on: August 10, 2016, 08:05:42 AM »
I saw this theory on a video, not sure if its been discussed...

A plane takimg off from the equator is travelling at 1000mph westwards just to stay in the same place above the earth.
As a plane travels exactly north it should be experiencing sideways movement because the earth underneath is spinning slower and slower as the plane travels north?

The plane is still travelling 1000mph to the east but the earth underneath at 40 degrees longitude would only be spinning at about 500mph?

The CHicago skyline is visible 40-60 miles away but the official story is that its just a mirage

someone recenrly disproved the mirage

The bible says tattoos aren't allowed

The boat captain in the video where the mirage was disproven didn't mention it ever being upside down,so it's a Photoshop.

What is the shill response to that video??

That's weird, maybe they used the lasers for each straight section

Imread the newspaper at the time it was being built ,they used lasers to keep it level

The channel tunnel between England and France was built from both ends simultaneously.

They used lasers on both ends to keep construction going perfectly straight.

If the earth was round wouldn't the tunnel do the opposite of travelling with the earth's curve?

Using lasers to guide construction of a tunnel would make it angle up instead of down surely?

If the tunnel ignores the curve of the earth then the first half of the journey would feel like going downhill and the second half would feel like going uphill.

In the raw video the ship never dips fully behind the horizon, it does start fading away due to unclear air

According to the science website curvature should be visible at that altitude

Just before the Iraq war there was always an asshole on every forum vehemently arguing in favor of it, on the smaller forums there were only people against the war cos the shills didn't think those forums worth bothering with.

The rocket tilts because of lack of speed?

This could happen to rockets in the upper atmosphere, cos the air is thin.
so not enough air is present for the fins to keep it straight... Then it is said to be orbiting :D Iiiiiinnn shpayce!!!!!!

Small rockets launched by hobbyists always have a stand that keeps them straight when they are launching.

When a balloon is hovering wouldn't it still be going down if the earth was moving?

If something is in the middle of the frame it is completely undistorted, whenever the horizon is in the center of the frame in the mythbusters video it is flat.
(The only time it's in the center of the frame is the internal camera, and you see the flat horizon behind the presenter)

No,you don't understand basic physics you moron.

When they are far away it's a superior mirage,as they get closer it turns into an inferior mirage.
It's mirages all the way down!

No,curvature is not influenced by camera angle at all

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Satellites and the space station
« on: June 28, 2016, 08:29:33 PM »
Satellites are too small and far away to see without a telescope. (If they exist)

Satellite TV uses the same frequencies and dishes as a ground based broadcasting technique called troposcatter so there is no need for satellites.
Has anyone really done a study to show if dishes are pointing at a common source?

Go on YouTube and search for'mythbusters u2'
The thumbnail for the video shows a flat horizon at 100,000 feet

Orbiting needs a globe and gravity.
I guess what you are saying is possible but unlikely.

NASA launches balloons that can carry 8000lbs - a mid-range satellite. I think these balloons are responsible for GPS, satellite TV is probably just towers transmitting.

There is no description of Jesus in the bible except in Revelation, it says he has a sword coming out or his mouth so obviously it's not meant to be taken literally, it says his hair is white as wool...not the texture of wool,it says his feet are like burnt bronze... Because earlier it describes him stamping out ashes.

Flat Earth General / Re: GPS | Navigation
« on: June 24, 2016, 09:16:16 PM »
There was a navigation system called omega which covered the earth with only eight towers

No need for any satellites, it was made more accurate later on,the video is from the sixties when it was less accurate.

Also there are more than eight GPS ground stations all over the earth
http://www.gps.gov/systems/gps/control/

If GPS was really satellite based you would only need two ground stations at most, and not equally spread out in remote locations on the earth........exactly like the omega system!

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: So I watched the SpaceX launch....
« on: June 24, 2016, 08:32:20 PM »
Oh good, you have knowledge of satellites. When does the government tell people they have put another satellite too close to their spy satellites. Before the launch, or after it flying too close to the gov't satellite?
Spy satellites are generally in much lower orbits than communications satellites, so I doubt that the issue comes up very often.

I think you just made that up

Also, all rockets are government funded, even spacex ,their customer is the government.
They send people and supplies to the ISS.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: flat earth agnostic. explain this moon video?
« on: June 22, 2016, 06:24:15 PM »
It takes about 28 days for the moon to orbit the earth but it always comes out at night.....it should be on the opposite side for half of the nights per 28 days......so it should only appear at night half of the nights in a 28 day period....

Flat Earth Debate / Re: So they're all lying are they?
« on: June 21, 2016, 02:38:13 PM »
The closer shots of the ISS are dark and grainy, low res. because its in a neutral buoyancy lab, ie swimming pool.

It has to be low res. to disguise the fact that the field of view is very limited in water, the view gets murky very close up.
