You disregarded my comment about it being from - GASP - space. Also, that curvature of the visible part of the sphere is still in a coherent shape. It is only affecting that within the immediate vicinity of it.

Well the curvature is clearly warped. You presented it as an accurate photograph from the Hubble when it is not.

You also mentioned Apollo photographs. It's absurd to believe that the rover would make this particular route.

The moon landings stories not unlike Swiss cheese have many holes. Above is just one of the numerous, thankfully FE provides a world view that is clearly supported by facts and evidence. You'll notice my photos, unlike the moon landing images have not been digitally or "analogly" altered in any way (outside of the clearly noted limitations of my hardware). This is because there is simply no need, seeing as the universe is in support our view.

I don't believe in the conspiracy for very simple reasons:

Too many people, too many governments, agencies, firms. Too many years. Too much money.

No leaks, not even the beginning of a hint.

Welcome to the real life (so different from a Hollywood blosckbuster)!

You make so many assertions, with so little support; I'd like to see some objective data supporting your claims.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Obama in Australia

Either way, seeing him hugging kids on the news is more interesting than hearing about some celebrity couple in LA breaking up.

Barack Obama is obviously a dangerous paedophile and has been exiled to Australia due to his dangerousness to American society. We must not stand for this outrage and exile him to New Zealand at once.

This, screw the Kiwis!

Now we have two seemingly contradictory pieces of evidence. However, applying Occam’s razor can sometimes yield unexpected results. In this case, it has granted us a fantastic tidbit of insight into the inner-working of our universe; affording us a precious token of understanding from which we can furbish our great FE knowledge tree.
When will we ever see a correct application of Occam's Razor from an FE'er?

It seems those 20 or so words just don't find a place in the mind of an Ant Eater or a Pizza Planet. Only the word "simplest" seems to be simple enough for them to understand. Phrases like "predictive power" or "fewest assumptions" or "theory" are just too complicated, so we are stuck with their version of the Razor:

"Whatever you say with the fewest words, or which sounds simpler to a simpleton, is true"

Is it really so difficult to understand what a theory is, and what the predictive power of a theory is? If so, I can only recommend you to let science to the "sciencey" types and dedicate yourself to gardening.

But don't feel bad. At least you wrote "Occam's Razor" right. That is a (small) start.

You do realize that ad hominem attacks are logical fallacies? I'd much rather be disproven than verbally assaulted.

I gave up tripping balls ages ago.

But, that's half of the fun in life!

In biological terms, perfection is having a sufficient level of fitness.

So, according to your definition, a camera is perfect.

A camera for the most part is inorganic, thus the concept of fitness doesn't really apply.

So, an eye in need of corrective lenses is more reliable than a camera?

I'm arguing that they're simply incomparable. Apples to oranges, if you will.

Well of course.
We all have our own universe that we live in.  We filter the world through our own beliefs and what we think is possible or moral or justifiable.

I'm a solipsist and I disagree.

9
Either we have a scientific discussion or a theological; the two of them don't mix well together (creationism vs evolution ie).

Where did I say I was against evolution? Also why can't I mix them, what if they're inseparable?

Forget the shape of the earth - is that a dolphin in the third picture?

No, it was a humpback whale.

Reevaluate your definition of perfection.

Please define it then.

In biological terms, perfection is having a sufficient level of fitness.

Philosophy, Religion & Society / Re: Reality Tunnel
« on: November 16, 2011, 05:32:30 PM »
Reality tunnel is a term coined by Timothy Leary and popularised by Robert Anton Wilson.
The theory states that, with a subconscious set of mental "filters" formed from their beliefs and experiences, every individual interprets this same world differently, hence "Truth is in the eye of the beholder".

This is not necessarily meant to imply that there is no objective truth; rather that our access to it is mediated through our senses, experience, conditioning, prior beliefs, and other non-objective factors. The individual world each person occupies is said to be their reality tunnel. The term can also apply to groups of people united by beliefs.

A parallel can be seen in the psychological concept of confirmation bias—our tendency to notice and assign significance to observations that confirm our beliefs, while filtering out or rationalizing away observations that do not fit with our prior beliefs and expectations. This helps to explain why reality tunnels are usually transparent to their inhabitants. While it seems most people take their beliefs to correspond to the "one true objective reality," Robert Anton Wilson emphasizes that each person's reality tunnel is their own artistic creation, whether they realize it or not.

It is believed that through various techniques one can break down old reality tunnels and impose new reality tunnels by removing old filters and replacing them with new ones, new perspectives on reality—at will. This is achieved through various processes of deprogramming using neuro-linguistic programming, cybernetics, hypnosis, biofeedback devices, meditation, controlled use of hallucinogens, and forcibly acting out other reality tunnels. Thus, it is believed one's reality tunnel can be widened to take full advantage of human potential and experience reality on more positive levels. Robert Anton Wilson's Prometheus Rising is (among other things) a guidebook to the exploration of various reality tunnels.

So you're arguing that we should force hallucinogenic drugs on to RE'rs to help them escape the fake reality tunnel they've made around their minds, while making them see the objective truth of FE?

It is extremely well documented that mans judgment is less than perfect. Thus most designs stemming from man will also inherit this imperfection. In contrast, devices designed by god, e.g., life, are perfect. If we were to accept this, then we would inevitably conclude that the cameras perception was more likely to be flawed than my eyes.

If we were to accept this, then we would also inevitably conclude that there is no need for corrective lenses.

Reevaluate your definition of perfection.

You are correct, this is a piece of evidence which supports the idea that the earth is flat. Fortunately, there are many pieces of evidence to the contrary.

I respectfully disagree with your assertion relating to evidence supporting RE.

Flat Earth General / Re: The earth is unique a valid excuse???

If the UA accelerates everything in the Universe, then my car should be accelerating at the same rate the Earth is, i.e. it should be floating above the Earth. It seems to me that there must be some sort of super-material lining the underside of the Earth that prevents the UA from affecting things on the top. I propose that this new type of matter be name flatanium

Another problem is that the UA needs to skip past the earth and then accelerate the sun, moon and other celestial objects without affecting things on or relatively near the surface of the FE.

Another problem is that the accelerative force on the surface of the earth is not the same everywhere, which totally disproves UA.

Where did you get that idea?

From gravity measurements at different locations on earth, which have not only been extensively mapped by different organisations but which continue to be so by private companies.

Can you provide some citations?

All they want, as they claim, is to be left alone.

We do?

I was not informed of this either.

15
So the Earth appears flat to you.

Yes; It also appears flat in the photos, if you account for the distortion caused by the manufacturing defect.

16
It's still concave on the first picture.

I noted there was a manufacturing defect with the camera. This was responsible for any apparent convex or concave shape in regards to the horizon.

17
Oh dear, either the Earth is concave, or tilting to the right or to the left!

Seeing as the ship was moving, many of the photographs are at an angle.

Flat Earth General / Neutral and Objective Evidence Supporting Flat Earth
« on: November 15, 2011, 01:11:01 AM »
Flat Earth Theory like many theories, e.g., evolution, is disputed.  One of the primary complaints of Round Earth Theorists raise against FET is the supposed lack of firm physical evidence supporting FET. Despite the numerous reliable works regarding this topic (which our dissenters just cannot seem to locate, willful ignorance?), adding more evidence can never be detrimental to our cause.

As noted by polymath and FE theorist Thomas Fabian Bishop, your eyes are extremely effective tools at gathering information about the environment in a format which our brains can then rapidly convert to understanding. He has used this concept as the logical basis for many of his defense strategies, most notably for the now famous “look out your window” defense.  Extending upon these grown breaking paradigm shifts in scientific understanding, I humbly bring my own independent support for FE.

Below I have several photographs of the horizon over the Pacific Ocean. Although I am of the belief that photographs are not a reputable medium for recoding information, they were particularly convenient for me to use; they can only grant further credence for FE.

To paint an adequately accurate picture of the scene, I must give some auxiliary environmental information. When these photographs were taken the cameras elevation ranged between 2.132452-3.215422 meters above sea level (it was a calm day). My eye level also was confined to a similar range. The air temperature ranged between the low of 289.323193 and 291.123048 K. The humidity was around 50.432762%. I did not notice any curvature of the horizon, that entire duration of the scientific voyage (approximately 12 hours).

I recorded several photos (as I mentioned earlier), which do depict curvature albeit slight.

After recording several photographs, the source of this error became readily apparent. My camera was not particularly expensive, thus its lens quality is substandard. As the evidence supporting that my camera had a flaw ammased, I simply had no choice but to investigate. After thorough investigation it became clear that my camera was subject to a manufacturing related defect, which warped the recorded image very slightly.  It now became clear that my earlier suspicions were in fact true. Knowing this, I present you these photos; despite their slight warp you can really tell how flat the earth is!

Also, I have more photos and I will show them upon request.

When in doubt always check your assumptions! Are you sure you're made of mass?

How is it that all other celestial bodies are round but the earth is flat? They were all created by the same processes. They all are bound by the same physical laws. They are all made of similar things how does the earth come to be flat? Don't say its unique because it really isn't.

The earth was originally spherical; it formed through the same processes as the other heavenly bodies. All bodies that have mass are accelerated by universal acceleration (this has been proven true countless times).  However, unlike the other heavenly bodies the earth collided with the z8923-a0 large class antimatter sphere. Antimatter is not accelerated by UA forces, thus it was standing still. They collided with a considerable amount of force. The earth was larger, thus it survived the impact. The earth did not emerge from the battle unscathed; it had been flattened like a pancake. This all occurred approximately 135 years ago. In the wake of the impact, conditions became hospitable for the formation of life.

If only they were all in America...

Actually, all they need now is to be an American citizen.  America is so awesome that its jurisdiction stretches into sovereign countries and supersedes their local laws.

Isn't that what they did with you?
