Flat Earth Debate / Re: Proof of the FE

Pythagoras proved it with the wells.
You cannot see a ship when it leaves over the horizon.

There....i gave you TWO.
To help him a long a bit, you can't see a ship if it goes over the horizon with an incredibly powerful telescope either.

I've been found out!

I AM serious!

Studies estimate about 2 out of 3 people have been bribed by the conspiracy at one point or another.
Oh.
Then the men in white coats are coming for you.

Wow. that's incredible. hoax or not, there's no dentying that's a formidable piece of software, if I had a free $400 knocking around the house I'd snap it up
No, it's definetly a hoax. When you use it you get drugged with magical pixie gas.

6

If I get in my helecopter and fly 6000 feet in the air I can clearly see the curvature of the eath.

You were the one who claimed to be a helicopter pilot and to have seen the curvature of the earth at 6000 ft.  Are you still sticking with that?
You can even see it on the beach as well on a clear day, regardless of any FE's bizzare and pointless claims.

Flaming doesn't work on trolls or FEs, especially not deluded ones. For normal ones it takes some kind of reverse mega ownage. Since Tom ignores posts that's impossible. He's some incredible uber-|33+age super troll.

If you can make sense out of that, I'll give you 500 bucks.  You're the one who's being pointless, idiot.
You flamed an FE troll. Flaming doesn't work on FEs or trolls. Tom is incredibly FE and incredibly trolly so it has even less chance of working on him.
Now, please hand over the 500 yankee currency... Of course, you'll say that since it's my post I don;t get it but does that mean you'll give it to anyone else who can make sense of it, meaning... anyone at all apart from some guy who can't read?

CG isn't good enough?

Here is a digital model of the earth you can buy and extort entire nations with for only $398:

It's a hoax. Anyone who uses it or has seen it has been bribed or drugged.

The RE universe didn't just start at a single point in space and expand outwards. That's a dummied down explanation for elementary schools. If you look into the actual Big Bang theory you will find that the Big Bang happened everywhere at once. The stars and galaxies of the universe stretch forever into the depths of space, the vast majority of which are invisible due to our Hubble sphere of vision. The light from stars 16 billion light years away have not reached us.

Tom, you make me cringe. You just do, I'm sorry. How to put this then...
Ok, I'll try like this: the entire universe took part in the big bang because that tiny point was the entire universe. Like a balloon, it grows in size but remains the same thing as it once was when it was smaller.
The universe is like a balloon. Take an (uninflated) balloon and put dots on with a marker. Then blow it up. The balloon grows and the dots get further apart.
There, Big Bang for dummies :p.

Also, none of you FE'rs have the slightest shred of evidence about the conspiracy.  It's a total myth that explains something fallaciously...like "Phaethon."

So...shut up or F**K up

More far fetched to think that you could traval in a straight line in an area where compasses lie.
According to FE compasses shouldn't even work anywhere.

How so?
I don't know. But then again, I'm not an FEer so I wouldn't.

Back to Mr. Ireland, yes that is alot - a hell of a lot - more far fetched than people driving. Also, how can you explain that people can travel across Antarctica in the time it would take to travel across it in RE and end up on the opposite hemispere but in FE they can go half way round the entire circumference of the planet's edge in that time to get to the same place as if the Earth was round?

It's always rather amusing when a poster calls someone else out on spelling and yet misspells a word in the same post. It's doubly amusing when that poster misspells the same word that he was calling out the other poster on.

It amuses me greatly
Only greatly :o?
That type of thing makes me smile. The only thing funny enough to make me smile was Tom thinking he;s clever :p.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Ice Wall

You're not getting it.  Unless you can manage to traval hundreds, or even thousands (the thickness of the wall is unkown) of miles into the wall, than you're not going to see that it is a wall.  You'll just see it as Antarctica.
It seems to be you who's not getting it. People have literally hiked, flown, driven or ridden across Antarctica to the water on the other side. Did the people who've done this - alone, no companies diverting them - all take a wrong turning the same way and ended up by the Sea on the other side of the world in a time far too short to be possible? Rather far fetched if you ask me...

Also, if that was taken with a fisheye lens how come the countries aren't disorted?
...
But the countried are distorted. Why?

You are asking why the picture is not distorted then claiming the picture is distorted.  You answered your own question, right?
No, and trying to avoid it proves your ignorance. Either that or you're too ignorant to see what's being asked. Either way, it doesn't put your argument in good light. The countries are destorted slightly because of the Earth's curvature. If the Earth was flat then those pictures would be incredibly distorted meaning that SA is incredibly wide, much wider than shown; which it's not.

North America is closer to the camera so South America appears smaller the further South you go. That would take effect in FE, but only slightly. The only way that the country could be distorted to that amount was if the world was round and South America was further than it would be if the Earth was flat.

No, that's not the only way.  It would also take effect if the Earth were flat and you used a fisheye lens.
No, it wouldn't. Just no. Do you know anything of photography and geography whatsoever?

To all FEers... if someone askes you a question, just ignore it. A flat Earth orbiting a normal Sun with normal landmasses creates much less problems than the idea that the moon and sun hover above us somehow, they're different sizes and then an ice wall and no Antarctica.

Let me get this straight...
In FE Antarctica is the ice wall? There is no Antarctica but instead that wall of ice around the edge of the Earth?

Yes, Antarctica is the Ice Wall.
So what about these people that have been there and the holiday comapanies running trips there? If I book one will I get bribed millions upon millions to say that it's not an ice wall?
Hmm. Interesting...
*Packs bags and finds passport.*
To the ice wall!

First of all, you have to make sure that the proportions (size/distance and distance/radius of orbit of the Sun) in yout animation are the same as in the FE model. Secondly, there is something about the 'foggy skies' theory mentioned on these forums, so I think you should check that one out. And finally, try clicking the correct keys on the keyboard (this has nothing to do with spelling since rotacion is the same in every language and not rotacjon, so I think you're trying to be cute).
You know, whinging at someone who doesn't speak English as a first language is an incredibly bad idea when your posts are full of misspellings and grammatical errors.

An FE troll is not disprovable by definition. Otherwise it wouldn't be an FE troll.

Flat Earth Debate / Re: Proof... Round Earth - Real Proof
« on: May 06, 2007, 03:36:41 AM »
Unfortunately, it has been decided that photographic evidence cannot be used here, due to how easily it can be faked. While I still think that that video is pretty convincing, it wont convince any fe'er. Then again, nothing will.  ::)
One of my favourtite quotes:
"It takes a genius to reconvince a convinced man.
No one can reconvince a convinced fool."

24
.. and I will seriously consider challenging my belief system.
One decent reason? Day and night.
The light from the Sun hits one side of the globe and not the other. On the line where the two cross there is twilight. As the globe "whirls" some of the world enters the light - entering morning - and some goes out of it - into the night.
Day and night in FE makes no sense at all. It makes perfect sense and proves RE when you assume that the Earth is round.

But this won't convince you, and posting it wasn't my purpoe to convince you. The purpose was to prove that even with irrefutable evidence you'll still be an FE troll.

So, you can prove me right about the Earth or prove me right about you being a stubborn FE troll. Choose.

If space can be infinite I see no reason why the tundra of ice and snow beyond the Ice Wall cannot also be infinite.

Dr. Samuel Birley Rowbotham held that knowing exactly what is at the end of the earth will forever be beyond the capability of any man or machine.
Because infinite matter defies the laws of physics. Also, most physicists who know what they're on about say there is an edge.

But I'm sure that infinite ice defying the laws of physics says nothing to you. I mean, everything else you say seems to defy physics and you ignore the fact that what you say is impossible.

Pictures I can believe because it's been done flawlessly before photoshop.  Video's though, how would you go about that?  That's like 1000 pictures for one little video.  Right?

It's not like they have to edit it one frame at a time. Well-done CG graphics are indistinguishable from reality. Why couldn't they easily fake those videos, especially when none of us have ever actually seen the Earth from space, and thus have nothing to compare it to when deciding whether a video is fake?
Not even close to true.  CG is not as good as real life yet.

This just shows how little you know about current CG capabilities.
No, it just shows that the FEers think we have incredible technology hidden that can do everything including making antigravity chambers...

I can't wait to see how many of you blind fools [that believes pictures of the round Earth proves it is round] argue that this is actually in orbit around the sun.  And spare me the "this picture is obviously a fake" arguments, too, because it's not.  Its the same as any picture of the round Earth.

Here is yet another fish-eye lens picture:

Yeah, very clever. For an FEer, that is. If that were true then then the Earth would have to be a aquare consisting only of america and no ice wall. Also, you'd need to get a few times the planet's width into the air, and that's impossible by the Flat Earth dillusion. Also, if that was taken with a fisheye lens how come the countries aren't disorted? If that was taken with a fisheye then the landmasses shown would be about twice or triple the width. South America would be the corner of the Earth and woukld be streched round the entire bottom of it. In other words, South America is the ice wall for the Southern half of the world.
Ok...

But the countried are distorted. Why? North America is closer to the camera so South America appears smaller the further South you go. That would take effect in FE, but only slightly. The only way that the country could be distorted to that amount was if the world was round and South America was further than it would be if the Earth was flat.

What about those images makes you think they accurately represent the earth?
Possibly because none contradict each other, there's clearly no editing, a fisheye is impossible because otherwise the countries would be incredibly misshapen and you say that they're not accurate.

But Sanity... don't be dumb... please I don't feel like putting another troll to shame. Not that I have put any trolls to shame yet.
There's a difference between trolling and having a degree in psychology which makes it more than just easy to see these type of things. Please, feel free to boast and brag and say you have more experience than an expert whose job it is but it's like Tom trying to take on someone who has hard evidence that the Earth is round. In other words, too pathetic to be annoying so merely ammusing for a short while.
Also, even if he was only kidding - which I'm surprised and slightly disappointed to see you've fallen for, I'm sad to say - there's a difference between what I did and trolling, don't you think? In fact, your post much sooner would qualify than trolling on any of the forums I've ever been on, be it as admin, mod or a member.
It's not like I insulted him, is it? On the off-chance that he was kidding why would it bother him? It wouldn't, he would just laugh at my foolishness. By you saying that it's trolling you're fairly much admitting that he wasn't joking.
