Flat Earth Q&A / Other Planets
« on: March 08, 2016, 06:36:24 AM »
Hello, some of you may already know me, but I continue to be interested in the FE Theory.

Quick Question: It has been answered that the other planets within the Solar System, such as Venus and Mars are flat disk such as Earth in your theory. If this were true, how is that I can see a new face of Mars every time I look through a telescope? Would it not have to be spherical?

Well, it looks like we have settled the issue.  Kansas is, in fact, flatter than a pancake.  On to the next discussion...

Actually Florida is the flattest state...

Thanks, that makes sense.

I just wanted to clarify something; what is the diameter of the flat Earth? Isn't it the same?

I'm new to the FET, so I wondering if you could just answer this question.

I'm sure that all Flat Earthers believe that the Sun moves in a circular orbit above the "disk" of the Earth, and acts as a spotlight to shine light upon the Earth.

So, this is my question: If this were true, would there ever be an absence of the Sun? Please, let me elaborate further. If the Earth were shaped as a disk, shouldn't one be able to see some evidence of the Sun, even though it's diameter is 32 miles and is 3000 miles above the Earth (as said by this FE http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php?topic=52832.msg1712772#msg1712772)?

Also, one should be able to see the Sun, as light spreads out from it source. If you were to switch on a flashlight, the light spreads out. Even if you were to take the most accurate laser on Earth, the dot of light created by it would have a bigger diameter then the initial beam of light.

Thanks, Atlas.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Why do you believe the Earth is Flat?

Sorry if I posted this into the wrong thread. However, is the blustering necessary? I would like to gain insight. If you can't answer all these questions, can you at least tell me what benefit(s) the governments of the world are receiving from lying to the population?

Never mind, if you can't read the answers you've been given what's the point in repeating the question?
It appears that I cannot find any ANSWERS to this question. It would be helpful if any of you were to include a link to the the answer.

Up on this page, you can find a response. It's been given. You can ignore it, but don't claim any interest in any kind of intellectual discussion if you're just going to ignore anything that goes against awful arguments you'd like to use or goes against your brainwashing.

Why can't Flat Earthers answer a simple question? All you guys do is just bluster and insult people who want some form of evidence that the Earth is flat.

Do you just want to post a single question?

Flat Earth Q&A / Why do you believe the Earth is Flat?

Hello, I am Atlas.

I hope that any of you Flat Earthers can answer questions of mine, without it escalating into a heated argument.

You say that the sun and the moon revolve above the Earth in a circular orbit. If this were true, how would a lunar eclipse even work?
Why would the sun appear lower in the sky as you move away from the tropics?

If the earth were flat, should I be able to see greater distances?

Continuing on, could you tell me why a ship appears top first over the horizon?

You will probably argue that the space race was hoax, but I will ask it anyway. As the cosmonauts and the astronauts explored space, they could clearly see that the Earth is a globe.

Below is a picture of Earth as seen from the moon.

Now, you Flat Earthers also believe that a flat earth could be proved by the sense. If so, why do you believe it is a sensory illusion that the earth curves when you are high up?

Now, the final question: What benefit would the governments of the world reap in brainwashing the population that the Earth is spherical?

Thanks, Atlas
