Technology, Science & Alt Science / Re: The Concave Earth Hypothesis
« on: November 25, 2014, 12:04:52 AM »
Does anyone have any thoughts on the polar openings ? Do they exist ? If they exist in the concave earth model then they would lead to "the outside". The polar openings are mainly referred to in literature that assume a convex earth where the polar openings connect to the inside of the earth. There is much literature that refer to civilisations living on the inside of this convex earth. Under the concave earth model would these civilisations now be living on "the outside" ??

OK. ausGeoff's comment addressed the issue that I raised, so I guess that closes the case, unless there are others who want to contribute to this thread.

Although this is officially The Flat Earth Society Forum Website , if you are a new comer you will have to realize that there are interlopers which the so-called "Flat Earthers" call "Round Earthers".

We are not paid "Round Earth Conspiracy Shills" but just ordinary lay people, and some experts who regard the "Flat Earth" as pure fantasy with nothing but their imagination about a "Flat Earth" . Unfortunately sceptimatic happens to be the worst of the lot.

If you get down to reality...Which is a word that is not in the "Flat Earth" vocabulary, there is absolutely no plausible hypothesis  in both the case of a concave or flat earth. The true shape and size of the earth has long been established...And it is definitely not concave or flat .

Technically speaking the earth is an "Oblate Spheroid" which means the circumference at the equator is very slightly longer than the circumference from pole to pole.

But please don't let that put you off. You will find the debates entertaining and there will be a lot of facts about many subjects presented by some "Round Earth" experts. Do join in. Cheers !
I am just a lay person with some technical background but there are several very knowledgeable "RoundEarthers"who contribute to the website. I have learned or had my memory refreshed in a lot of their posts.

OK. But your comment is actually not addressing the issue I raised: Are the findings of the experiment conducted by Cyrus Teed and Ulysses Grant Morrow as described in Cyrus Teed's Cellular Cosmogony and also referred to in the other links I provided valid ? If not, on what basis are the findings rejected ?

One of the most important arguments in support of the concave earth hypothesis is the experiment carried out by Cyrus Teed and Ulysses Grant Morrow in measuring the earth's curvature described in Cyrus Teed's Cellular Cosmogony. So, any debate about flat earth models versus concave earth models would have to address the validity of this experiment. Does proponents of flat earth models  reject the findings of this experiment. If so, on what grounds ?

That is a very long thread you are asking me to read through. It has 96 pages! I have read the first 3 pages and so far have not seen anything relevant to my question. What particular page in that long thread addresses the issue I raised?

Thanks very much for your thoughts on this. Do you have any thoughts on the polar openings ? Do they exist ? If they exist in the concave earth model then they would lead to "the outside". I have just joined this forum, and would really like to be enlightened as to why the concave earth hypothesis is inferior to the flat earth model. Anyone, please?

Thanks in advance. :)
