I agree. As long as we don't bring time travel into this, I agree with Strader. Time travel is not and never will be possible. Insta-paradox. Don't even get me started. And no, I will not discuss it with you. My brain discusses it with itself every day of my life and I'd rather bury the very idea of time travel than try to tell you why it can't work.

Flat Earth Q&A / Round Earthers: The Moon?

My pleasure.

A rather astounding speculation, Sodapop. If you peer upon the surface of a massive sphere that you are standing on, it would indeed look very flat, because of the distance of the curvature.

And if God created billions of completely different species that all happen to look as though they were closely related and wiped the vast majority of them out, the fossil record would look just as if all these billions of species were not different species at all, but close relatives that evolved into each other. However, the fossil record implies that evolution occurred, and not that God undertook such a ludicrously arbitrary Creation; and likewise, the fact that Earth appears flat implies that it actually is flat, not that it is round. Sure, RE can account for the Earth appearing flat, but it isn't an immediate consequence of that.

First of all, I don't believe in "God". Not completely, anyways. I'm agnostic.

Secondly, I have something to tell you. Grass, my friend, is jaggedy. And by that, I mean, a field of grass. Let's say this field, however, is covered in short grass. Why, from a very far distance away, it looks like a big, green, hardwood floor. Doesn't it? Why, it often looks completely smooth from a distance. Well, this is considering that it's a well-watered field. So, does that mean I should assume that it's just a big, flat, green platform before actually investigating it? Well, maybe, but I sure as hell wouldn't come to any distinct conclusion about what it actually was, being this my first time seeing grass. So, then, wouldn't you say that perhaps you should go into space yourself before you make the kind of jugement that you are making?

Flat Earth Q&A / Round Earthers: The Moon?

Greetings, Strader. Welcome to the place where you will argue with the most ludicrous ideas in the world. You can, however, sit on the sidelines and make comical comments., if that's what pleases you. Whatever floats your boat.

You've got to be f*cking kidding me. Okay, SD0, I'm just going to say that I haven't seen your try to prove anything without the use of the word "evil" or without some biblical reference. Time exists, get over it. Quit trying to find new things to disprove. We cannot explain time, we simply cannot. However, trying to disprove it is about the most moronic thing anyone could ever attempt.

All of you "FEers" constantly try to disprove the supposed "RE theory". You, however, fail to give any factual evidence towards your own concept of the Earth. It's easy to say that something someone else says is wrong, but it's a completely different thing to actually prove your own ideas with the use of factual information. What you have are concepts, ideas, and theories combined with some modern science. What we have is satellite photos, people who have flown around the Earth, astronauts, the moon, brilliant scientists, and much more. Sure, it's possible that all of those things make up the largest conspiracy ever in the history of anything... but it's also extremely unlikely. So, hard evidence would be very much welcomed.

A very powerful blow to one of the major disputes here. However, I hope you to come to your full senses, Max.

So, how did these ice walls come to be, precisely?

They haven’t disproved us, yet. So why should we stop proving ourselves correct? Did not the great philosophers of Greece speculate? Did they not think? Are you telling us to stop thinking, therefore becoming mindless automatons that follow everything the government says, who would go to Iran and bomb the place thus starting a Third World War?

The disadvantages of us not speculating and challenging “fact” far outweigh the reasons why we shouldn’t. If we were wrong, you just have to prove so. A credible source would do, directly refuting that the Earth is Flat. We disproved that the Earth is Round, so you must also then come up with an alternate theory.

Have fun!
Sorry for parting inwards, but you haven't actually "proven" anything. To prove is to show something that is by no argument "fact". It is indisputable and cannot be counter-balanced with other theories or ideas. You have not disproven the "theory" that the Earth is spheric. All you have done is give supportive theories that show that your concept of the Earth is possible, if not probable.

And a side note: What the hell is this that I am reading about a huge spotlight being the moon? How does that measure in with anything at all?

The concept of the Earth being spheric is not "logically invalid". You just disagree with it. It has plenty of logic and reasoning behind its concept.

16
True. You can believe it all you want. I'm also sure that despite evidence, you will not sway your opinion after being so deeply engaged in the subject. I've noticed amongst the majority of people that they often do not change their opinion based on more facts received from the other end of the argument, because they believe it would lead them to embarressment and maybe feel a little regret for thinking the opposite in the first place. Now, take in mind, that this it the majority population and that I hope you do not fall under this category. Oh, but I should say that the majority people that I talk to. I guess I can't speak for 7 billion other people.

You also refuse to accept arguments from anyone but yourselves, coincidentally.

18
You have contradicted yourself, my friend. A paradox indeed. Unless, of course, by "we" you meant the FE'ers. If you meant everyone, then I will proceed to state that if you can't prove that the Earth is flat, then you can't say that we shall all presume so anyways.
And I disputed your "rebuttal" because I like to dispute, and your dispute was based on assumption-mixed facts.

19
Now, before we get into an argument based around physics and scientific facts, which I clearly do not have much knowledge in the field of; let us discuss the concept of this "money" and "power" consumption that is based on this supposed "conspiracy". First of all, what round-earth related funds would the government receive from the population? Secondly, what kind of power does this "conspiracy" actually give them? How?

The way I see it, the entire universe is a paradox. Just by having the capability to imagine a paradox; you, yourself, are a paradox.

I would, had I been in space when I moved around it. The Earth is much to large for me to comprehend any curvature while I move around its surface. Of course, like you, to actually prove any of this, I would have to travel into space myself and orbit the Earth a bit to really prove it to you. Or would I?

22
Wriggling my way past your ignorant statements and blatantly obvious facts combined with idiocy, I ask you this, Dysfunction: Precisely what would the government benefit from "faking" the existence of a spheric Earth.

Flat-Earthers seem to have an aura of ignorance floating about them. If there is such an ice wall, then visit it yourself and take a picture. I'd like to see it. Don't you dare find a long glacier to support your theory, though.

25
Brilliant. You know precisely what you are speaking of.

I'm afraid not, SD. That would only mean that everything you look at is "flat". What you're describing is a two-dimensional image. We can only percieve a flat image when looking upon something that is "3D". However, when moving around it, you can clearly see its other dimensions through the use of your two-dimensional optical senses.
