The more time I spend looking at this site the more I believe that it's a joke. If you believe the Earth is flat you might as well be a Scientologist, they're both equally credible.

Besides your theory doesn't claim the Earth is flat it says it is a disc like structure, but it still has mountains and the like and thus is NOT flat. Consult a dictionary to learn that.

Saying it is the flat Earth theory sounds like you're saying Earth is 2D

I'd revise that opinion. He was fairly fucking evil.

Now that this thread has been moved to the proper forum, I'm sure if the OP would read the FAQ and lurk around this website for a bit he will realize that Flat Earth Theory is a very well developed and respectable theory.

It may be well developed and respectable but your "evidence" still has more holes in it than swiss cheese. There is no wall of ice and people live in the arctic. The fact airplanes exist disprove your theory by heading to the west of the US to get to the East of the Earth working.

I agree that such a method, if valid, could be tested on any number of celestial bodies with permanent, fixed, and observable features. 

I am finding this a little hard to follow, if truth be told. Am I right in thinking you assume the red spot does not move and is fixed? And that we can thereby use it to ascertain our own movement?

Because Jupiter has the fastest rotation of all planets according to RE theory. A sidereal day of just 9.92 hours. It also rotates 2-3 degrees off axis, has an elliptical orbit and the spot itself is a storm that does drift ... again all according to RE. So it isn't really as straight forward as assuming the spot is fixed ... because it isn't. It disappears to the far side of the planet as it turns, it moves in latitude with the seasons and other storms and currents buffet and wobble it because it is a product of atmospheric conditions.

In short, I don't see how you could use the spot to determine our position, when the damn thing keeps moving about.

Round Earth isn't a theory until you prove it wrong, which you have failed to do and always will fail to do.

"scientists" is a very general term. Would it really be relevant if legions of engineers and physicists advised everyone that the world is round when they themselves don't put much thought into the problem? The shape of the Earth is hardly something people mull over for more than a few seconds unless they were, for example, to come to this site, a place where RE'ers learn that all the evidence for a round earth is nonexistent.

PS If you can't tell that glacier from a ring of ice that circles the globe you have more than your sanity to worry about.

I think brainwashed is a better word, the only reason that ANYONE believes the Earth is flat, I mean come on, if this site didn't exist you would believe the Earth is round.

The evidence is there, satellites can show you, air planes can show you, anyone with a brain can show you, you simply refuse to see, you are blinded by ignorance.

It should also be noted that a hole in your theory is that airplanes can travel over your mystical "wall of ice". Explain to me how going west from the pacific into china would work if the Earth is flat.

Proof of this is that when a boat is heading off into the distance, you can see it go around a curved edge, if it really was COMPLETELY flat, your eyesight would allow you to see much farther.
