Any drug or medicinal stuff is dangerous when abused. I think it’s on the people alone whether he/she will use it on wrong way.

I suggest you see an expert in hardware; the damage is on external part that might be needed to change. A friend of mine got his external hard drive fall but I think not as high as yours and fortunately still working.
