All you really need is a video card that supports two monitors.  You would be hard pressed to find one that doesn't these days.  Just connect the monitors to your card and then go into display settings.

you mean one video card and two two graphics cards are okay?

Flat Earth General / Re: Some thoughts on flat earth belief
« on: November 10, 2010, 12:34:37 AM »
I stumbled upon this site a while back randomly, and after the initial humour and disbelief I hung around out of morbid curiosity.  It initially seemed implausible to me that any rational person could believe in a flat earth given the wealth of scientific evidence to the contrary, so I expected to encounter the sort of logic I get from young earth creationists.

However after getting involved in some discussions it has become clear to me that many flat earth believers are in fact capable of engaging in a logical discussion and appear to be relatively intelligent and educated.  This puzzled me of course because ignoring from the obvious conclusion that you are all a bunch of trolls (which I still hold as moderately likely) I was fascinated to know how a rational thinker could believe in such an absurd conspiracy theory, the intellectual contortionism required to fit real data into the flat earth hypotheses is quite staggering.  I almost saw it as an insult to the scientific method and the progress humanity has made that people will try to pick holes in our understanding of the universe with some biased assumptions and fisher price physics.

Yet some more thought on the nature of humanity has opened me to the concept that there are flat earth believers who are scientifically minded and believe due to rational thought and not some combination of religious dogma and insanity.

One thing I've realised is that there is no such thing as a normal person with normal beliefs.  Human consciousness is a spectrum of information and ideas, and with nearly 7 billion people on the planet you are going to get some extreme statistical outliers, so being able to find a handful of people with extreme ideas on the internet is not actually that surprising at all.  Flat earth believers exist for the same reason that people exist with a fetish for a rabbit costume and a bucket of lard; with enough people, anything you can imagine will exist somewhere.

I consider the flat earth society a testimony to the variety that life generates. Instead of being dismayed at the stupidity of mankind, I am instead pleased that we are not all identical clones.  After all, variety is the spice of life.

nice  thought

I bought some pure caffeine recently, it's pretty nice. You can essentially caffeinate anything, for cheap.
