Flat Earth General / Re: The conspiracy

Quote from: Lorddave
Do you know what they are or what those words on the map mean?

The bottom line is that these items on the map are actually holdover characteristics from medieval cartography.  I am saying that these things (such as the northern mountain, Garden of Eden, etc) actually exist, and the reason why most people do not know this is because they have been hidden - eliminated from cartographic charts, modern literature, et cetera.

The fact that these items were included on some world maps of the 1500's and 1600's, but not so many afterwards is an indication that change was taking place in cartography during that time, and the change obviously involved controversy.  Obviously, the hard core partisans of the older cartographywould be the most likely to consider the change as some sirt of conspiracy, and modern science which deadens peoples' minds would have us to accept unquestioningly the status quo without seriously and objectively putting the views of both sides to a test.

Australia WASNT on those maps though. They hold no relevance what so ever in this day and age, none.

I believe alien life exists, I've seen things in the sky i couldnt explain. The way they move is beyond our technology, the universe is billions of years old. Suppose that there is a planet that had something like Dinosaurs or something and no major extintion happened. That would mean that instead of life re-evolving for 65 million years it would have adavanced and advanced for the whole time.
Humanity got this far in 200,000 years so imagine something with 65 million years extra evolution time...

I'm not going to read the rest, someone please inform me of what the conspiracy is?

What is the motive to cover up the shape of Earth?

Its like saying that WW2 started because Hitler broke up with Ignacy Moscicki, it just makes no sense at all.

Poor Ignacy..... he never let himself love again.....  ;)  ::)

A long time, almost 25 years of flying.

Wait so Australia isn't real? That explains why I'm just floating here in space hahah

Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking. They are more credible than anyone on these forums and they never spoke of a flat Earth. Also, Newton and Einstein were both dead before NASA was formed.

Countless Astronauts, Cosmonauts, Pilots, Sailors, Antarctic explorers and researchers based there, hell anyone with some sort of satellite tv can tell you Earth is a globe.

Na, they're all part of the conspiracy.

lol

They said when I joined the RAAF: "now you are committed the lie, tell no one the truth"
lol

Yeah I thought as much, I just want someone to prove the things I have seen with my own eyes many times are wrong.

pseudoscience

The fact that a tiny, tiny minority of people actually believe in the Flat Earth theory and no one can even prove it to be true without rambling on about some BS conspiracy would make it pseudo science.

There is more hard evidence of the Loch Ness Monster being something more than folklore.

Again, why would I want to do that?

Thought as much

All you are doing is saying pictures can be faked, that picture didnt work but it is a picture of a hurricane taken from an orbiting satillite.

Prove it's a fake.

No I want you to prove that this picture is a fake:
<a href="http://photobucket.com/images/hurricane%20from%20space" target="_blank"><img src="http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa152/SaWebs/August%202009/hurricane.jpg" border="0" alt="planet earth Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a>

I know pictures can be faked, everyone does. But you can not prove this planet is flat, just call out all pictures as being faked.

All you seem to say is "irrelevant" in reply to what people say, do you actually have anything up your sleeve? Anything that can actually prove that the world is flat?
You can say all you want that pictures can be faked or whatever but there is nothing to back up these claims. Find me some real science to show the world is flat, something that can prove 53 years of human space exploration wrong.

There is a nice, clear photo in there of Australia and SE Asia taken from an orbiting satellite. You can even see cloud cover!

Photographs can be faked, so this is not proof of anything. Anything else?

Here you are, clearly implying that the picture I mentioned is faked.

Yeah I'm sure they were faked photos, are you serious?

"The Universe" by Ian Nicolson is a good one, its even it size 20 font. I still have it from when my little brother got it in 1992.

As I don't have a copy handy, could you please summarise how it proves the Earth to be round? If you can do this, I will go and look up the book in a library to verify your testimony.

Again I cant believe you can argue that the Earth is flat, Google must be in on the lie too.

You have zero proof to back up the idea of the world being flat. I can go to a primary school and get real proof that the world is a globe, in books designed for 6 year olds.

Maybe I'm just a government sheep who has only seen what they want me to see.

Nope YOU explain to me how I havent really seen these things.

Which things, exactly? You just listed a bunch of things you have not seen, like ice walls. Perhaps you were just looking in the wrong place.

Didn't you say that a galaxy is 1mm wide?

Irrelevant.

Has anyone ever seen the Ice walls is there proof? Or is it just a "thought" or theory you guys have, because no one has seen the edge?

Morons in tin foil hats who have never even left their country.

Kind of like those who don't know how to navigate using a coordinate system  8)

Its amazing that in the 21st century people can disregard all the evidence you could poke a stick at and still believe in stuff like this.

Irrelevant is not a rebuttle to anything.

Like I said, I have seen a lot of the world, an "ice wall" does not exist.

I've been flying in the RAAF for almost 25 years; I have flown combat missions in 3 wars, I have flown on dozens of humanitarian missions to places worldwide, I have done many high altitude flights, I've flown over both poles and have been across every ocean to every continent.
I might not be a geologist or astronomer but I have seen more with my own eyes than most people could ever dream of.

Personal expirence has shown me that the Earth IS indeed a globe, there is no "ice walls" or an edge of the world. You will never fall off, there is no "government conspiracy" to cover it up, Earth is just an insignificant rock in a vast universe full of life.

A 16 year old girl recently sailed around the world, there are thousands of satellites in orbit, people have been to the moon, people are working in space right now.

How can you arm chair experts actually dispute what people see with their own eyes every single day?
