Flat Earth Q&A / Re: tell me does this seem rational

Because it would cost billions of dollars to create a rocket powerful enough to get into space.
And once you're up there all you'll see is the perspective effect in play and we can see that here on Earth for free.
Would be cool to take that tour of the ice-wall though. Hmm vacation 2010 here I come.

That's a good question. I personally have an opinion on that matter.
However, it's easy to understand why people would believe that it's round. Smart people said so. Since they're smarter than the average person it was accepted as fact and people moved on with life.
It wasn't until someone decided to step up to this "belief" that we learned the truth. I'm sure you can find a digital copy of his original works in the F.A.Q. Earth Not a Globe.
Since he was fighting popular opinion he was scorned by the populace, and pretty much left to obscurity. It wasn't until the advent of "rocket technology" that people could actually make money from this belief that the Earth is round and hence the biggest taxation sink was created to help siphon off money and hide it in governmental programs in the United States under the auspices of "exploring space".

I believe we have a failure in communication.
Yet again you still have yet to prove that the flight/journey/adventure would go anywhere but in a circle.
I can see how this is confusing, but if you would read the F.A.Q. like I did you would understand a little more what I'm trying to say. (I hope)

If you are following a compass to the "west" you're going to fly in a circle. True story, your compass is going to point towards the magnetic north pole.
As for the link, yes, I would love to go on a tour of the ice-wall. Do they have hot cocoa?

Yep, point west, and fly "around" the world and you'll fly in a giant circle, and return to where you started...
Simply I do not understand how you expect that this is going to prove that the Earth is round. To me it proves you have enough money to buy plane tickets and fly in a circle.
No mumbo jumbo involved.

No other place to put this, unless it would be Angry ranting.
Have been lurking for a while, and I appreciate the honest exchange of ideas.
Figured I would say "Hi" to the forum before someone started screaming at me about being an Alt.
Hi.
I'm going to lurk moar now.

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: the acceleration theory
« on: September 14, 2009, 11:41:03 PM »
Shades, to answer your question;
As the Earth accelerates upwards, so also does the atmosphere, so also do you. However since we ourselves are not pushed upwards directly by the Dark Energy, the acceleration of the Earth is 9.81m/s? faster than you. You are being pushed upwards by the acceleration of the Earth. If the earth were to stop moving upwards you would be launched into space like so much floating debris.
However since the Earth is constantly accelerated upwards, we by default are also being accelerated upwards as well. Since the change in speed is a constant increase, our bodies feel what seems to be a push downwards when actually the face of the planet is moving up towards us.
Why does this affect all things equally? Because the Earth is flat and all of it is moving upwards at the same rate.
For those of you wondering why feathers and such do not fall as fast? Wind resistance.
Hope this answers your questions.

Has been used by cellular telephone towers for years. Long before GPS devices came out.
Funny how all GPS devices also have most of the same equipment as cellular phones.

HTD, it has already been established that you are able to see the wall if you travel far enough south... You will reach the wall right before you get to the edge. Simple enough concept.
If by some chance you are implying that you can see the wall from farther away, by that token you should see airliners over Europe from the Eastern United States since they are thousands of feet up.

Sure, it sounds rational. However it also sounds like you're just going to travel east, west, or a derivative of one of those as the airlines are unable to fly south around the world because the airliners don't want to fly off the edge.
Make right turns all the time you're bound to wind up back where you started.
