Flat Earth Q&A / Re: I challenge you to change my mind
« on: March 06, 2009, 05:11:09 AM »
I have read the FAQ, and I have thought of something just recently. Have you ever flown to Japan? I have, and it didn't take that long (I live in California.) By your theories and logic, I would have to fly all the way to the other side of the planet to get there. If memory serves correctly, the only thing I flew over was water...no continents. Which means I flew going the other direction. So can you say to object this?
I have yet to hear a response regarding the above statements? Care to elaborate?

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Why do you believe that the earth is flat?

Also, explain why our sky is blue. That definitely pertains to having an atmosphere...notice the word sphere in there.
We know there's an atmosphere...think before you type .The atmosphere doesn't deplete into space thanks in part to interactions with dark energy. Hey here's an idea: read the FAQ
Gravity is what what holds our atmosphere in place. And I already read the FAQ. There is no such thing as "dark energy." There is no giant ice wall...well, actually there is, its called the arctic shelf, but not in the sense that you people believe. None of your sources are credible in my opinion. If the earth was flat, you would have some way to prove it. I on the other hand, have seen the earths curvature for myself, and can say without a doubt in my mind that it is spherical. On top of that, we have satellite images, we have live footage from said satellites of our earth! This goes far beyond graphical capabilities, period. Graphics will never be that realistic and tangible. What is your proof against all of this? This so called world conspiracy is absolute crap! Also, our systems of longitude and latitude based on the world being a sphere. Look at the curvatures. Nothing you say can dispute the fact that, from high altitudes, you can see the curves of the earth on the horizon.

Okay, so I just read over the FAQ. I found one very glaring flaw. What would you say to somebody who had a telescope. Say, a powerful compound telescope, one that might be used to view deep space. Now, wouldn't that same telescope be able to see this ice wall without having to get close to it?

Newgrounds?

I didn't bother reading the FAQ. This whole idea is absurd. Where are these ice walls? Wouldn't you think that somebody would have seen them by now? A picture maybe? One that has been evaluated and can be trusted as a viable source of accurate information. I can't see anything that proves that the earth is flat. Nothing that I have seen would indicate that, even in the slightest.

How can you explain night and day? How can you explain lunar cycles and the changes of constellations? If the earth is flat, and ice walls are really surrounding us, wouldn't they melt from being so close to the sun?

Obviously, I know that 99 percent of you do not actually believe this. You only find it fun and challenging to confuse and confound your opposition with odd facts and absurdities, which you insist, proves that the earth is flat. The fact is, I have been in a fighter jet at nearly 30 thousand feet, and I can say without a doubt in my mind, that the earth is round, as in, it is a complete sphere, and not just a circular plain that if flat.
