Keep cracking the two hat joke fella. It gets more hilarious each time I see it. You are one crazy guy! Wow.

Do you have awkward silences after you speak to people in groups?

Debating? Yes. Arguing? No, not really. Arguments are for stupid people who can't present themselves as they would like or aspire to, or maybe faced with stupid people who can't differentiate between debate and a one sided rant.

I'm keen to see who believes. If you do believe in FE, with the mountain of evidence that needs no explanation then yes, you do have psychological problems; a break in Darwinian progression

I believe your all complete twats.

You're is a contraction, or a combination of the words you and are.
Your is the possessive form of you, referring to something that a person has.

Is it possible that you are the twat?

I don't see the enjoyment about pretending to believe in FE. I thought this forum was legit and would attempt to shed light on what is actually more likely to be a pshycological problem in the believers.

Some of them must believe it though? worrying as that may seem. I mean, people believe in a God so it's not outside the realms of possibility

Who here actually believes in FE? On a serious level now, no point trolling and acting weird. I'd just like to know how many people here actually believe the earth if flat.

Be intersting to see the numbers involved and have others comment on whether they believe certain FE believers are indeed real.

I'm not, so that's one less to worry about

Flat Earth Q&A / Re: Is the moon flat?

Why not? It looks flat. It's round, granted. But like the FE people here would surely agree, so does the earth.

I'm not having this mix of round/flat shapes kicking around. Lets agree on flat/not flat once and for all.

Is the moon a formation of rock formed from a collision with the round earth a while ago (one theory) or is it a big pancake? Like the earth.

Tai. That sounds awesome. You must have some pretty amazing photos of your big fun day out on the Ice shelf.

Was it like the Mighty Boosh song "Tundra"?

Actualy, forget all this FE/RE stuff - I can't believe you are married!!!

Does your wife believe in the same shit you do?

That's one fucking disfunctional family... :P

Yes! Not to mention that orbs have been trying to tell people the earth is flat by appearing in people's photographs (of course the majority of people are blind to this real message and just assume they're dust, ghosts or emoticons).

If you believe this then you are simple. If it's just another troll from you then it's quite good in a surreal way.

You sure you were not schooled by wolves?

Also, if you understand a lot of aspects from relativity then the up/down argument you made is textbook. I did laugh when I read that. Relativity...The clue is in the name...But don't worry, you crack on reading about String theory. Have a butchers at Hamiltonian mechanics, dabble in stochastic calculus, gorge yourself on the GUT or maybe just stop beating out to internet pornography.

You don't believe in God but think the earth is flat. Awesome

Before I begin to respond to this shower of an argument I'd like to know two things:

1) Do you have an elementary understanding of physics?
2) Did you understand 1.

If you are happy with this then we'll continue...

Why do you mention Australia? Is it because "it is upside down" :) It is all relative. To them we are upside down. There is no up/down/left/right in space, for all space, just the instantaneous point definition reference.

I've no idea what the second point means but assume you think Australians, because they are upside down, would bungee jump into space.

Gravity?

Ever heard of that force. We are still some way from fully understanding it. Feynman postulated it living in one of the 6 (or 9) other dimensions, having immense power, but only displaying a fraction of this in our own dimensional space.

Do you believe God made the earth flat?

We are not the centre of the Universe and to think so is arrogant (stupidity here is taken for granted).

At a guess I'd say you were an average student at school (you are able to write effectively but have no real power in your words). I've no idea what you do for a living. Maybe you work for NASA.

Tai Lung. Just out of curiosity, can you let me know (privately if you like) what results you achieved a school, whether you went to University, did post graduate studies and where you now work and in what capacity you operate.

I ask as two of my friends work with special needs (one with adults with learning difficulties, the other works with childern suffering from Downs syndrome) and sometimes, especially with the adults, it's quite difficult as they can read/write and appear a little slow but you'd say they are 70:30 in favour of being normal. They can't, however, reason and question topics which have an element of complexity. Completely throws them. Which is quite sad.

I've got a sneaky suspicion you fall into that camp and I'm sorry if this is the case. Men are not born equal, be it in mind or body. I would hate to be so restricted mentally, though, as to not see the real beauty of the world around us and how much we, as human beings, have discovered.

Because that's what they always do - 30cm is too small a distance to experience the curvature of the earth.

Who are "they"?

What I'm trying to get across here is the fact that size is not important. When you make a model car,  a scaled down replica of the original, it is still the same shape as the original car but smaller. Same applies to the football and the earth. If you were much, much smaller and were on the football it would be the same (in terms of dimensions) as the earth.

Does this make any sense to you at all?

If I only did the experiment at 30cm on the earth everybody would complain that it was too short a distance to get the expected results.

Why?

I grabbed the equation from a website as I could not remember the exact formula and they'd written it as pie, not pi and I didn't register the mistake...

Yet again, you're just trying to avoid the issue. Please answer this simple question:

Can you get a football that is 1km long?

This was never the issue or the question. What's wrong with you?

To answer your random question then yes, you could get a football that is 500m in radius. It is possible. It would be prohibitively expensive to construct though but it is certainly possible. You'd need quite a lot of material to construct it:

The surface area of a sphere is given by 4 * pie * radius * radius. In this case the surface area would be approximately 3,141,592.65 metres squared of primarily synthetic leather sheet, plus glue and chord.

Does this answer your retarded question?

Now, do you have anymore FE gems from your alleged "many, many, many" tally of "two"?

I think you are just trying to get a reaction personally as your claims are too outrageous to be taken seriously but we'll see...

1 km footballs? I never said that. And when you talk about length it is usual to think about linear concepts. For topics such as footballs (and the earth) think in terms of radius and diameter.

Where did you get 1 km from? I said "football" as it is a concept you may be familair with or will certainly have heard of/seen.

Don't get yourself more confused over 1 km footballs. Did you understand what I was trying to illustrate with the football analogy?

When using the term scientist think specifics - Botanist, Physicist, Chemist. Don't use an umbrella term. It makes you look, well, foolish.

Since when are there footballs that are 1km long let alone several? You must be one of the biggest fools we've had on this site.

Just stop for one second and think about this. Please.

You have one football and one pencil.
Now, place the pencil vertically. The height from the nib to the base (where the pencil touches the football) is, say, 10 cms? Okay, with me so far.
Now, move the pencil to another part of the football and measure again. Still 10cms.

The football is the same shape as a globe. So when you went 20km and measured the height using your ruler (or pencil) you did the same thing as above with the football.

You can't detect curvature by measuring a point on a spherical surface. It's so obvious I won't go into the details but just think about why this is for a second will you. The surface of a globe appears the same whichever part of the globe you are on.

Do you understand this?
